I don't agree with all of the things he has said in the past but I can't deny that he has a gift for capturing beauty in music and has a glorious sense of conviction. I really admire that about him.

2:04 this reminds me of when Nick released his Scarface remix. Most of the comments on the original video were hate, mostly people saying they didn’t like the song. It was sad. Like damn, just let the man create. I personally really liked it

It really took the shine off him when I discovered his politics. That he could be so articulate and so ill informed at the same time was very disappointing. But what disappointed me the most was discovering that he is not the upbeat happy guy that his music suggests he is. I guess it's like discovering that a really upbeat children's TV presenter is actually a manic depressive. It kind of renders his entire body of work fake.

I am experiencing this right now. His mixes are so great but then I discovered his 'Nicks Picks' channel... I saw his UA-cam video nuggetgasm. I am so disappointed in his blatant sexism and general attitude towards Women. Now these thoughts enter my head every time I listen to his music. The irony of it is that it is possible that he himself has ruined his music for me. It's heartbreaking.

Same here. I have a drive full of his videos, and now every time I see it, I think right wing douche. His negative attitudes go far beyond just women. The fact that he seems to genuinely like Trump speaks volumes. Breaks my heart.

You should seperate an artist's body of work from their person. Art shouldn't be something that can be lessened by the person creating it. Objectively beautiful art is still beautiful art, regardless of the politics behind it.

Really, so if your favourite artist was a child rapist you'd still view or listen to their art?

Yes. Van Gogh was a mental bastard and chopped his own ear off. His art was still wonderful. Hell, even Hitler made some objectively good art. The point is, if you apply some rational logic, you should be able to separate the art from the person. If we let the beauty of art be tainted by a person's views or actions, almost every piece of art could be written off, as you would surely find something negative in everyone if you searched for it. You example was an extreme leap, but my point still stands.
