Oh my goodness, we love are little Festus. He's a Beagle hound dog and we picked him up from someone's barn at the age of 10 weeks old. First time dog parents to a Beagle hound. I immediately started searching for information on Beagle puppies and came across your UA-cam videos. Thank you so much for all the information on Beagles. Festus love's kids and becoming a beautiful family pet. But, a lot of work. He currently will go to the door to use his spot to do his business. No accidents in three weeks. It's the consistency you recommended in the same area. It work for us. Festus will sit and stay now and were working on fetching his ball. I'm a little nervous because he goes in at the end of the month to get humbled, ( fixed). Im afraid he may regress backwards with his training. Im praying Festus comes through it like a charm. Thank you for loving Beagles and your videos with training, has been a blessing for us and little Festus.❤️

Why do you have to neuter him so young? I suggest waiting longer or not at all. I created a video on this very subject, check it out - ua-cam.com/video/d6QP7XlejbA/v-deo.html

The vet recommended. He said, it would help with keeping him safe and not running around the neighborhood looking for a female dog. He also said, that Beagle hounds are very smart with escaping fenced in yards. Especially, when any female dog goes into heat.

Those reasons are not enough to why you should neuter him. Most vets promote that to make money instead of helping dogs. That shows to me that you may want to change your vet and find a vet that is either educated with the latest research surrounding spay and neutering dogs (or any dog related issues) or you should do your own research and demand what your vet should do for you since you are the one who pays them. You are the boss and you should advocate for your beagle. The linked video above, helps you to be educated regarding this issue.

@@SaroDogTraining I believe Michigan has a law about neutering dogs and cats. We have a high number of dogs and cats in the state that don't get adopted. This is a way to control the population from stray dogs and cats.

Make sure to find out the details about the bylaw. At what age is enforced to spay and neuter a dog?

My beagle has gotten very defensive when I am affectionate towards my mother. The dog whimpers and has even barked at me. I understand she loves my mother, since my mom brought her home, but what can I do to make my beagle stop treating me like this?

You need to get involved with training your beagle and teach it that you are in charge and in control. This way you can prevent and also stop your beagle to make mistakes.

Toddlers pull on their tails.. grab the dogs...try to get on their backs...be careful parents ! Don't let kids torture the pets

For sure. I think some dogs can tolerate some minor abuse from kids but it is not fair to allow kids to do that to dogs.
