It took hours of silent phone calls for me to finally realise that just because you act with the best of intentions it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t be wrong.

To me the room with the lady typing seems like a therapist waiting room. As for the rest, it repeats the same locations which to me reads as a reference to how he's just going through the motions while not making him happier. But still feel like I missed some stuff

Falling out of love.
Whenever he goes underwater, it's him "attempting" you know what. It suddenly takes him to a new setting, the basement/arcade. It seems like this place represents his version of a sort of regretful pre-heaven place. He's there with all of his friends/loved ones, they're all doing what they love to do. But he seems to know he's not supposed to be there. The place is underwhelming and his friends appear to be disappointed that he's there. So he jolts back awake and goes above water (failed "attempt"). But he can't stop going back to this place. He gets there through the therapist's office, signifying that even though he's seeking professional help he still can't help but to keep attempting. I think the front desk lady represents his ex (clearly this song is about a breakup). She seems indifferent to the fact that he keeps coming back, and appears smug whenever he regrettably walks in, meaning she was likely the key factor in him wanting to repeatedly return to this place.
@@johnafro1wow, that sounds so on point! I got the impression that his groupmates (sitting at the checkin) are silently expecting something from him and get disappointed each time Tom attempts this thing in the bathroom. And in the end they look like they've lost hope in him
