@@MichaelsFishRoom I think we're averaging, after 40gals of use, about 1.49 per gallon plus the flat rate of $45 whether we use that 40gals or not so yeah iTs eXpEnSiVe. 🤦

@@-8_8- yes believe me I do save as much water as possible. It's also cheaper to drain water to the lawn vs the drain 👍

I do 50-100 gallons per week and usually don't have an overage. However, I'm going to start brewing beer again. Hopefully come spring. So that's an additional 10 gallons or so to brew, and probably another 20 or more to chill.

@@MichaelsFishRoom ha, you forgot stuff in the budget and I forgot stuff in the water budget. A lot of cleaning stuff with a hose too, but worthy hobby. Another one where you're actually keeping a habitat for something living in liquid behind glass. Hard on the waist line though.

You each can buy 3 guppies (1 male 2 female) from petco/petsmart/Big Box Pet Store and breed them. You get 6 months to breed the best looking guppies you can (that should roughly be 3rd Gen....)
If they die... you lose
If you get no fry.... you lose
If you cheat... well we cant prove it but in your heart of hearts... you know you lost.
We the viewers vote on who did it best on a 1 off Twitter post that lasts for a week. Each of you shares the same video with all 4 results and the link to the vote.

Id like to do breeding like you but prices are much different here.
Rare dumbo mosaic or endlers go for simple as €2 to €3 each in many fish stores or pet stores. I’ve seen you sell for €30-€40 a pair.
I can’t ask such questions here haha. No matter how I’d try.
Maybe you have a supy and demand problem. A few things, your prices are off. Sure he said 5 bucks for cheapos, and up to 30 for perfect, but it's 2-3€ vs 16-25€. And with that increase it sounds like you should distribute internationally. Forget breeding. Also, are these guppies you're getting perfect tank raised tank bred specimen?

@@MichaelsFishRoom I suppose it would be included in the rent but I don’t get charged for exceeding any amount of water I use I do a 50 percent water change on all my tanks each week i live in Ontario
Really want to get some of your Japanese blue blue tails but at this point I think the next tank I set up will be another super red bushy nose tank, not bragging but I can’t keep up with the demand. I did get some calico bushy nose ( traded some of little Michael’s kids for some). They came in very small under half inch. I quarantined and medicated and then wormed them again, starting to shape up nice but they seem to be growing slower then my super reds,same food. Question have you noticed any difference in growth rate with yours? First time I have kept calico pleco’s.
Nope, all mine grow about the same. I do find the calicos have less dry than the others though.

How many tanks would you need to be self sufficient in your guppy breeding - meaning no imports, all bred in the fishroom?
Or would you just cut back on the varieties?
Never thought of it TBH. But at least double and then triple the time I spend.....
