  • Today, I sit down with my good friend Marianna Hewitt to talk about a range of topics related to self-care, mental health, and the challenges of being a content creator. She emphasizes the importance of finding a morning routine that works for you, rather than following what works for others. She also discusses the concept of creator burnout and the importance of prioritizing your mental and emotional wellbeing over views and clicks. Additionally, she touches on the importance of quality friendships and the challenges of running a company.
Mariana Hewitt is the leading voice in social media and the co-founder of Summer Fridays, the skincare brand whose iconic jet lag mask became an instant bestseller. Marianna is also the host of her own podcast Life with Marianna, the number one fashion and beauty podcast.
You can order my new book 8 RULES OF LOVE at 8rulesoflove.com or at a retail store near you. You can also get the chance to see me live on my first ever world tour. This is a 90 minute interactive show where I will take you on a journey of finding, keeping and even letting go of love. Head to jayshettytour.com and find out if I'll be in a city near you. Thank you so much for all your support - I hope to see you soon.
    What We Discuss:
    00:00 Intro
03:19 What is your earliest memory as a child?
06:44 The reason why we react differently when presented with similar situations.
08:42 The advantage of becoming a parent when you’re fully ready.
12:08 This is why you should never rely on anyone for anything.
15:41 Marianna shares the life lessons she learned from her parents.
18:11 Pursuing the passion for sharing things that you love with an audience.
20:59 Every job and experience brings about different learnings.
23:24 Falling into the trap of chasing virality.
28:54 Marianna explains the balance of having a time off to avoid burnout.
33:45 Surround yourself with a group of people that resonates with your core.
35:29 Do you really want to run a business because you want to build a company?
40:05 Think about what you are uniquely good at.
44:23 How do you decipher what you think is important and what’s truly important to you?
47:18 There’s got to be a reason why successful people have morning routines and do journaling.
50:57 What are you looking forward to in the years to come?
53:06 Let’s focus on taking care of our brain health.
01:00:00 You can be two opposite things and still be happy.

Having a big group of people in your social life is not too important. The most important is you are in the group that you feel you belong and it impowers your energy. Another thing, saying NO is not a bad thing. We must set limitation to take care our mind, body and soul.

I agree that it's not about having a big social circle, but rather finding a group of people that you feel you belong with and who energize you. It's important to set boundaries and say "no" when needed to take care of your mind, body, and soul. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

There are many things to bring u happiness but nothing will be permanent. I have used different techniques and I do things completely but nothing works. The day I became Muslim and then I started practicing Islam with all my heart that includes stuff like 5 daily prayers, reading Quran a lot and making an effort to understand it, doing zikr of ALLAH SWT as much as I can, asking things in prayers and making Dua, treating people in a good way, making efforts to please ALLAH SWT then my life was changed. I can't say it enough. الحمد للّٰہ رب العالمین . ماشاءاللہ لا قوتہ الا باللہ You can try it as well.

Marianna has always been such a breath of fresh air. I have been following her since before Summer Fridays and I have always admired her poise and personality and wisdom. So much wisdom . I find it so beautiful that she shined light on her parents despite them being divorced. Her story and upbringing says so much about how she is now as a woman from how her parents raised her. Being raised by 2 mature adults really has such great impact. This was a very beautiful conversation between 2 friends . Loved loved ❤❤ I wish Marianna and Jay more success in their life and career . Their platform truly makes a difference

Thank you very much Jay and Marianna.
One thing that is really amazing for me is that she started travelling long distances between different countries and continents (if I accurately remember) when she was a child. Travelling always scares me. Leaving my city or country, not matching and adapting with new culture, being awkward to the native people. But imagine it is possible to go beyond boundaries even at the ages that you are a child.
Also hearing about Marinna's parents that how they managed everything for their child to be joyful and happy was amazing for me. Her mom told and taught her to try to be independent and learn to stand on your own feet 🐾. Being self supportive and self protective is great.

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

I will consider more in the event of a divorce, which we might be, and having a daughter of 5 yrs now we do start to fly in two country as well :). But eventually, learning and share how to feel free and happy should strength more the relationships. Thanks for the beautiful sharing!!!

Let's just acknowledge that both come from loving families, who wanted the best for them. Unfortunately not everyone had this. Not hating on their success, but let's just acknowledge what it's blossomed too. This message is for the parent wanna bees out there, don't have kids for validation or societal reasons.
