Marshall I can't believe you visited Dipolog city. You could also visit Dapitan city, because that's where Jose Rizal was exiled during the Spanish era.

Montaño is the brand of sardines you were looking for in Dipolog.
Just got 4 bottles from my sister, who just got back from her PH trip.
I visited the factory store.
You can always ask tricycle drivers for special rate, meaning you’re the only passenger. Normally double+ the usual fare.
Do you know? I love ❤️ this fish 🐟 on Dipolog province very fresh to eat but if you find the labuyo 🌶️🔥 isn't like for me! I hated labuyo 🌶️ because I had prohibited so very hot! 🔥🥵 this summer I want to go Baguio because it was very cold ❄️🥶 in the city! 🏙️
If you ever watched Becoming Filipino he has been to Zamboanga and had great reviews of the place welcomed by everyone . It is safe ..

Zamboanga has been on my list for years. I always ask Filipinos if its safe for foreigners and get a 50/50 response. Will be interesting to hear your opinion.

Great vlog my friend. I was in dipolog two months ago. I have a wife and son that live just outside there. Let me know how you got on in Zamboanga. For me. I wouldn’t of gone there seeing as it’s one of the worst places to go for tourists because Muslims will kidnap you there. Thought you might of known that already?

Dipolog city is only part of zamboanga del Norte region. Dipolog is VERY far (11-12 hrs travel) to zamboanga city where you should be concern about. Dipolog is way safer compared to cebu and manila city where there are plenty of snatchers/thieves etc.

You didn’t have the sardines Dipolog is known for. Montana is known for Spanish-style sardines, cooked in oil (traditionally olive oil, but they also make it in corn oil to make it more affordable).

Just pointing out that the fish dish you ate isn't the Dipolog sardines you were looking to try. In any case, those sardines are readily available in groceries.

Zamboanga is a hit or miss area. It had its good points. ... and its bad points. Just, uh, be a bit careful with your stuff and yourself. Take CARE.
Funny that Dipolog isn't Zamboanga. Or that only the city is considered Zamboanga

@oxoSLFoxo The mestizo elite in Zamboanga del Norte are originally Chavacanos from Zamboanga City. Likewise the mestizo elite in Zamboanga del Sur are Chavacano descendants. The Spaniards used the Chavacanos as settlers in the major Spanish-built towns not only in the Zamboanga Peninsula but in Cotabato & Davao
Dipolog is in zamboanga del norte.zambianga city is like a half day travel from dipolog.
