Hey Gio! I happen to come across your video, I would just love to say
As a resident of Dipolog, you wake up and feel nothing but safety. Reasons why is because|:
1. Petty crime - even if your camera gear is out, no ones gonna snatch it. Though you might get scammed by overpriced items (some do but not all)
2. No Gun violence - the chances of having an active shooter is as close to none ( based on my observations)
3. Cleanliness - public areas are kept clean - no matter where you are
4. Simple city hustle - you know where to go, when to cross, how to get there, how to do stuff
5. Peace - i can't describe it in detail but there's just something about casually exploring the city and never feeling like sh*ts gonna harm you
OTHERS: living expenses / friendliness / hospitality / discipline / etc.
I was i Dipolog city,Oct22 beautiful place,beautiful people,I went to baybay after tropical storm. It was still stunning. I also married my filipino wife there. Be back there soon. Love the place.

I definitely like what you've shown me on dipolog, as I like clean areas which are hard to find in the Philippines. If you want to go to a nice vacation getaway for the weekend you should go to Amanpulo.. Nice white sandy beaches there and also a great place to relax

I haven’t been to Dipolog for years now but I was born and raised there.I agree with you,it’s by far the cleanest city in the PH that I have been to as well and the difference was very noticeable to me as a kid when I started visiting other cities.
It looks a really nice place to visit next trip. I think you will enjoy your visit to Iloilo, as it is very clean and modern in parts. It’s quite spread out, so your bike will be great to get around. Not as many expats there, and I saw very few age gap couples. It’s probably not the best for dating.
Whenever I went home I always bring my batchmates & families, nice place to hang out 👍

The Bay Bay restaurant in Dipolog is the place to go to celebrate Valentines Day- great buffet. Beautiful at night with the lights, and outstanding live music, refreshing ocean breeze. A romantic night walk down the beach with your significant other.

My wife and I are moving to Dipolog in January. The family is in Dapitan. I was there in June for about a month. Not many foreigners around the area. At least while I was there, which is not a big deal

You should like Iloilo. Last I heard it was one of the cleanest cities in Philippines too. I will be in Philippines next week. Going to Boracay for several days and then to the far north up to Pagupud. Checking out Pagupud for my retirement in several years.
I've heard good things about ilocos. Haven't been there but I know of a couple (American guy) who lives there now, they just about built a new house
I think my ideal place to live in the Philippines will be in Subic Bay /Olongapo areas .Theyre clean cities with American touch !
I have been to Dipolog and the bay bay restaurant, as I agree with you about Dipolog but also you should check Dapitan city just north of Dipolog which I believe I prefer
As the restaurant it is beautiful and food was good how ever too many hungry cats and dogs come to your table

I went to Bay Bay with my wife and her family the first time I went to Dipolog and it was only about 8,000 for all of us to eat a really nice meal.

I wish they would end that vaccine mandate to the Philippines I was there in 2017-19 in Linamon 15 km from Iligan City, went to visit Tinago Falls look it up its beautiful, snorkel on the beach almost every day was in the best shape I've ever been. Want to definitely go back once they lift that mandate. oh yeah I been to that Robinson Mall,,nice!

There are several hospitals.
Lovely spot there Gio. It sounds to me that you had wished to hang around there a little longer, maybe another 3 or 4 days to explore. As they say in the Skittles Candy commercial…….. “stay and taste the rainbow”. Is there a need to cover all your destinations in this trip. What’s the rush Indiana Gio ?? The Philippines will still be there when you return from the US . ( My guess is the Philippines will taste even sweeter after your time in the US ), ‘ just sayin’. Ask your buddy Paul ( Asian Adventures ) if he misses the Pl. ( ha, ha…. ). Anyway it’s your adventure, not mine. But if it were, I’d slow it down a little to “taste the rainbow” a little more. We understand you have a timetable. And the only important one is the 36 month mark. Well whatever you do, enjoy the journey under blue skies and be safe. We all wish you the best and be well…..

Just a very small populace. They are more in Pagadian, Iligan, Zamboanga, Marawi and Cotabato.

What hotel did you stay at? I have been looking for a hotel to use when I get there. I last stayed at clamla 1 and they have not kept that hotel up.

Dipolog is way safer than CDO. A little laid back compared to CDO. But the two place are very peaceful.

Gorgeous sunsets while walking the boulevard. I married a Pinay. Her family lives near Dipolg. We are selling our home and moving there this year. I have seen a few of your vids and enjoy your content, but I must admit that I did not enjoy this one!😜 Dipolog is one of my favorite spots for every reason you mentioned, and I am being selfish because you are sharing my hidden gem with the world! There is nothing really spectacular about Dipolog, but there is something about it that always makes me return. Keep putting out good vids!

Gio, this is Dino from USA in Butuan city. Is there a philippine immigration office in Dipolog, or very close? As I am sure you understand we need to get Visa extensions.
There are street sweepers around the city that help clean the streets. Also, throwing of any type of garbage, like cigarette butt's or any food wrapping is prohibited. You literally won't see any garbage strewn on the streets. Dipolog is under rated most probably since it is located in Mindanao and the general thinking that this island is not safe which is not true.

How do you seem to find places with so few people? Everywhere I go it seems there are hundreds of people around. They live inches from each other. Every time I turn around I am tripping on people and falling in line for everything. I need to go explore more islands. Luzon and Cebu just have too many people.
lol, filipinos by nature are extroverts, they love going out so it will be a hard time finding a place with few people in the Philippines nowadays especially in some parts we are now in Level-1 in Covid, Covid cases dropped, everyone is going out now.

How did you find the security situation around Mindanao? My LDR Filipina is west of Dipolog, south of Liloy. A Filipina friend here in Canada has expressed concern about me going there as a foreigner, what are your thoughts on your experience?
That town you mentioned bordered areas were decades ago significant rebel activity happened. Dipolog is 5 hours from that place and generally peaceful except for very rare spillover of kidnapping by Abu Sayaff. The city saw one kidnappin and its adjacent city of Dapitan also saw one. As you go westward from Dipolog, the security situation is also of particular concern.
@@merickclare So I ended up going last September/October and actually found it to be very safe feeling. As a comparison I have travelled often to Paris where visible security is much higher. As soon as you start moving through the airport you see heavily armed police and soldiers moving in groups. The same as you travel through the city and to a lesser extent through the entire country. In western Mindanao the police/military presence was almost nonexistent. Overall I felt no issues with security as I travelled through the area.
@@bigassslabs-chainsawmillin8461 That's good to hear and I'm glad your stay was peaceful and enjoyable. As Ive mentioned in my previous comment that the rebel activities was in the past and now there's an existing peace agreement so it contributed to the peace in the region.
