  • 🇷🇺 I decided to head south to the snowy peaks of the Caucasus that divide Europe from Asia. But before I could board my train to Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, I had to work out what exactly a bloody 'put and platform' is. Fortunately a one legged local helped me...Yes I'm back in Russia!

      @@aeiouaeiou100 Bolivia IS a communist nation like Cuba and Venezuela. They at some point DID have Soviet help and goods come in. The dictator there has become more nationalist and has helped the people of Bolivia to some extent but ALOT of Bolivians fled to Argentina and Chile in the 1990s soo.. I donno but I think Bald saw some genuine soviet stuff there yes. Babushkas? lol! That is just his terms for the old women everywhere lol!

    My 82 year old grandmother who loves your videos and has seen them all after I shown them to her (she said she has always wanted to visit India so it started with that), emailed me at 8am this morning asking me if I knew what Mr Bald was doing and if he safely made it out of Bolivia because there haven't been any updates on the UA-cam channel (I don't know why she thinks I would know more than she does, it's not like I personally know Ben haha but still! My Gran cares for you!).
    I'm so happy to see you back uploading in one of the most interesting parts of the former Soviet Union, with so many different peoples and breakaway states, Ossetia/Abkhazia and now we can see you in Chechnya! Gran will be so happy to see this video!

    The "put' " means the rail path. And the platform can side with two rail paths. So the "put' " describes the side of platform. You don't want to sit in a wrong train from the correct platform :)

      Why would he travel west bound over the mighty pacific ocean from Bolivia? It is obviously closer and more convenient to travel eastbound with a likely stop in a western european country such as spain, france, germany or the UK. You're geography isn't very good.

      @@ziplin5412 "east russia" is still Urals, which is on the western side of Russia if you split it in half. He hasn't been, or at least uploaded, from Russian far east. Though, I'd love to see him in Magadan, Irkutsk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, or anywhere in between.

      Put' means way. Many languages, including American English, but not _real_ British English, do not distinguish between railway tracks and regular roads in imprecise speech.

    Thanks for the video. This is my favorite video of the entire series. The night time. The snow. The friendly people. The small, cozy train car. It just seems all very.. magical. Maybe that's a lame way of putting it but it was enjoyable even if only watching.

    I imagine you figured it out already, but платформа is the platform. Each platform may have 2 tracks, one on either side. Путь means track. First you find your platform, then the track number tells you which side of the platform your train is on.

    Caucas is not only Chechnya and Dagestan, there is many over rebuplics like:Kabardino-balkar, Karachay-Cherkes etc, can you visit those places they are very beautiful.

      In general, I love his way of exploring places (minus the part of ignoring the locals about the possible dangers).
      Rather than just a tourist I would say he is a traveler and explorer.
