The thing about any fight btw Scott Adkins and Michael Jai White is that both of them are fully capable of pulling off any move that the other one can do, lol.
He's such a beast. He has the explosiveness of a smaller guy but with that muscle mass behind everything every hit also just looks like it'd carry major damage. I haven’t watched the entire movie and I’m not gonna watch that clip again but it appeared as if James Bond stuck him with a needle that put him out...
Thats one thing, but Michael also kicks insanely strong to begin with. Talked about him on the Joe Rogan podcast where in the gym they were talking about Joe's insanely powerful kicks and Michael said he had strong kicks too. So he kicked a heavybag so hard the chain broke off.
There is another scene from a more recent Asian movie I can't remember the title but the fighting was exceptional too. All I remember was that one of the fighters was dressed almost all in white and the protagonist (main actor) accepted his opponen'ts invitation to fight, in a lone street somewhere in Tokyo or Beijing, can't remember the place...
The last scene with Donnie Yen is the only one I hadn’t seen. What a fun fight! The speed, theatrics, and takedowns. Donnie triple slamming the guy lol. Looked like Jiu Jitsu and very creative. Excellent compilation, nice variety.
Yeah it was ridiculous jiu jitsu. Like the guy who choreographed the scene did three classes when he was 8 years old, watched some older guys rolling and tried to recreate it 40 years later. A knee bar, with knee collapse sounds, then a heel hook, more sounds.. The guy gets up rubbing his butt... Ffs. Then that horrendous white belt rear naked choke with no hooks or other controls. Pure trash. Almost as bad as the two guys flailing ahout like quixotic windmills come to life.
@@eschelar Donnie was trying to blend MMA and wrestling into his character's fighting style in this movie. He's one of the first to try that in a Hong Kong action movie.
The Bond one was fantastic. I liked Daniel Craig in the role-and I liked the darker tone; how he’s just casually looking around to see who noticed while he waits for the dude to bleed out
That scene also showed what range Daniel Craig has as an actor. I think you can read a lot of subtlety into it, which is rare in such a physically demanding sequence. From when he breaks his hand, to slashing his neck to finally stabbing him, you really hear the pain and desperation in the other guy’s yelling, and it’s dark stuff. Great performances from both actors. Bond almost seems like he has to look away from the horror of his last moments alive for a split second, and really his whole humanity washes over into this robotic stare and he forces himself to watch it. Really stand out scene to me.
All these fight scenes were great but only Tony Jana’s fight sequence was done with real hits throughout. When Tony Jaa entered the screen he wanted to showcase realistic muay thai by actually allowing hits to land. Unfortunately that type of realism led to his body taking so much of a beating that he now takes softer roles (besides the aging).
Ong Bak 2 is entirely just a fighting masterpiece honestly. This clip in this video wasn't even the coolest scene at all. Movie's got a pretty meh story, but the INSANELY good fight scenes carry it all the way, and, in my eye, solidify Tony Jaa's place as the best martial arts performer in movies I have ever seen, bar none.
Yep. Did a good Mike tyson too. Blood n Bone, undisputed2, Never back down, has a somewhat cheesy movie on net flip called SWAT or something. Scott Adkins continued with the undisputed movies but him and Jai White were hard to beat for no1
That fight at the end has such a lovely mix of martial arts included. Donny Yen choreographed it personally as a love letter to martial arts everywhere.
Idk about that but it was cool. That nose bleed Donnie had looked real. One of the best fights ive seen on film is Benny the jet and Jackie Chan Wheels on meals. Check it out if you haven't already.
Man, the fight choreography in Blood & Bone was so, SO much better than it had any right to be. The plot is pretty damn generic, but man, when MJW has good choreography to work with, he makes magic.
It’s the story behind the fight and the fact that it’s the saying of “People will fight against the truth and hate you for speaking it” if it were acted out as a real fight that makes that scene so good
Its one of the weakest fight sets picked for the compilation, hard for me to take fight scenes where the "fighters" have their hands hanging down by their sides seriously anymore, they look more like dance partners when the fight choreography is like that.
Didn't really like how they g toe to toe and then Suddenly he goes super Saiyan and dodges every hit effortlessly. Other than that great fight probably one of the more realistic ones out there
I actually believe that he was just waiting for his assailant to lose consciousness, so he can get up and leave without any problems (why else keep a grip on their arm after he already stabbed them in neck? he's hurt but not finished that is why) Of course though the guy bled out afterward , in a real situation that wound would have been fatal after 3 minutes without medical attention
Fight scenes have gotten SO MUCH BETTER than when I was young, in the JCVD era! Holy shit, I haven't seen any of these movies, there's at least a couple I need to see now!
EmptyHand49 It wasn’t just Muay Thai anymore, Tony Java blended so much more fighting styles into his own, such as Hung Gar and Kendo, also he got some of the best presentations of ancient Chinese weapons I’ve seen in a movie
this is all thanks to bruce lee. prior to him the fight scenes where somewhere between "wtf?" "and are you kidding me that's the fight?" also "that's the fighter?" find an action movie or tv series prior to bruce lee where the fight were not hay makers and comical while the fighters were not out of shape couch potatoes. Hollywood has forever changed after Bruce.
@@zacherywesterberg4137 not as comical as batman fight scenes when bruce was making movies. they did a crossover with the green hornet and batman. Blood and Bone is my instant favorite after watching it the first time years ago, so much ass kicking from beginning to end, especially with a bad ass name like Isiah Bone, portrayal great as usual by Michael Jai White
Great idea but it will never happen. Remember that these guys are actors too. Their faces are their brand and their money-makers. They won't risk that in a full contact fight.
@@EmpiricalPragmatist This is true now that Donnie doesn't fight as much as he used to.. Once, someone asked Jackie Chan who whould win in a fight, him, Jet Li, or Donnie Yen. Jackie said, without hesitation, Donnie Yen because he used to get in real fights.
You know what is more entertaining is watching two people who don't know what they are doing attempt to fight each other. Real life cartoons right there, just my opinion because I do martial arts for real, not the tai chi, aikido, jun ki karate crap, actual offensive martial arts focused on applying and denying the hurt. When I see a dude shoot for a takedown incorrectly, and stumble into a passive guillotine choke that his opponent cannot lock because he isnt applying it correctly, and they both fall down and wriggle on the floor like a couple of toddlers playing... it tickles me a heartwarming chuckle.
The "Professional courtesy" was not pulling the knife out and telling him that it hit the aorta. As long as medical treatment is the only context in which the knife is removed, he stands a solid chance of surviving. A puncture of the heart/aorta can be treated if the object that was inserted is only removed by medical personnel administering treatment, because loss of blood is what kills in that context, not the wound itself. Basically a couple pints from a transfusion and immediate emergency surgery to seal the internal wound and he'll be on the mend. If he pulls it out or tries to chase John and it gets wiggled, he dies. There's documented cases of heart and organ penetrative wounds being survived, including an accident involving an industrial nail gun discharging a nail into a construction worker's heart. One of his co-workers wanted to pull it out but he insisted he needed to go to a hospital and not to touch it. If they'd removed the nail he'd have bled to death before they could get him to an ER, but because he left it in and let the ER surgeons remove it and treat the wound, he survived.

@@comicfan8350 yeah me too because it shows a true challenge honestly badass fighters who never struggle are boring in my opinion its movies like these where it's like damnnn fuck yeah who's gonna win? type vibe huh

Go watch raid redemption and raid 2 and see if you views dont change Hollywood ain't fucking with these guys
That James Bond scene is so good. I love how at the end you can see how the other person just bleeds out. Very different from other fight scenes, also the way James Bond looks at him afterwords.
\
Yeah looked very realistic
I haven’t watched the entire movie and I’m not gonna watch that clip again but it appeared as if James Bond stuck him with a needle that put him out...

yeah both bond and MI had to up there game when bourne came out - but sadly no bourne on this list lol
Don yen fight scene was a masterpiece of all the scenes, 🔥🔥, that guy made me love martial arts 🙌
Couldn’t begin to fathom what it would feel like to get roundhoused in the face with a timberland boot.
it hurts. swear. those boots are heavy as hell too. so one from a skilled fighter in timbs is just over kill.
I've ended fights with a boot to the shin. I don't want to imagine the face.
A timberland boot with a 240lb man inside of it.
Thats one thing, but Michael also kicks insanely strong to begin with. Talked about him on the Joe Rogan podcast where in the gym they were talking about Joe's insanely powerful kicks and Michael said he had strong kicks too. So he kicked a heavybag so hard the chain broke off.
If you think timbs are bad imagine steelcaps.
Man I love that you included Flash Point! I freaking love that scene, one of the best, hands down.
Saved the best for last ;)
There is another scene from a more recent Asian movie I can't remember the title but the fighting was exceptional too. All I remember was that one of the fighters was dressed almost all in white and the protagonist (main actor) accepted his opponen'ts invitation to fight, in a lone street somewhere in Tokyo or Beijing, can't remember the place...
@@alexsky88749 Its Kill Zone by Donnie Yen too. ua-cam.com/video/_H-3NKj8yO8/v-deo.html
@@eschelar I dare you to mention any MMA fight scene that looks real but at the same time entertains as a movie fight scene...
@@realdealmind01 Yeah, actual fighting looks stupid.
He is insane & brutal

Undisputed 2 and Blood and Bone are EXTREMELY underrated films! Good list here, thanks!
They did real hits for Flashpoint as well. Both Donnie Yen and Colin Chou had to go to the hospital after filming.
Yep the only real fight is Tony Jaa scene
Ong Bak 2 is entirely just a fighting masterpiece honestly. This clip in this video wasn't even the coolest scene at all. Movie's got a pretty meh story, but the INSANELY good fight scenes carry it all the way, and, in my eye, solidify Tony Jaa's place as the best martial arts performer in movies I have ever seen, bar none.
@@arnox4554 cinematography was great too with the wide angle lenses and great shots

And the acting is always terrible.
Yep. Did a good Mike tyson too. Blood n Bone, undisputed2, Never back down, has a somewhat cheesy movie on net flip called SWAT or something. Scott Adkins continued with the undisputed movies but him and Jai White were hard to beat for no1
Didn't he play spawn too?
Donnie yen scene was absolutely amazing, the skills in MMA, wrestling, jiujitsu, submission locks, footwork etc

Tony Jaa, Donnie Yen and MJW are underrated beasts

Man, the fight choreography in Blood & Bone was so, SO much better than it had any right to be. The plot is pretty damn generic, but man, when MJW has good choreography to work with, he makes magic.
The last fight in ong bak 2 where tony jaa wields mutiple weapons is so underrated...the choreography is fucking legendaryy!!!😲
. “Put on these glasses, or start eating that trash can.” ... and it starts, "They live", arguably the greatest fight scene in a movie ever
And longest! I concur my good man, best fight scene ever...
It’s the story behind the fight and the fact that it’s the saying of “People will fight against the truth and hate you for speaking it” if it were acted out as a real fight that makes that scene so good
Someone's never seen either Raid movies
You know MJW is epic when he's in 3 of the 6 scenes on here.
3 of 6? I only see Undisputed and Blood and Bone with MJW in them. You got him confused with other black fellows?
5:03 Michael kept faking his opponent out, so he could form a plan in his head. Love this fight scene.
Its one of the weakest fight sets picked for the compilation, hard for me to take fight scenes where the "fighters" have their hands hanging down by their sides seriously anymore, they look more like dance partners when the fight choreography is like that.
@@CanadianWolverine Tell that to Wonderboy. If you're at a level where hands down benefits you go at it.
Didn't really like how they g toe to toe and then Suddenly he goes super Saiyan and dodges every hit effortlessly. Other than that great fight probably one of the more realistic ones out there
The James Bond fight scene seems quite real; I love it and thank you for the video!
that Jason Bourne fight scene in Morocco in a bathroom is a worthy mention. Excellent choreography
I liked the fight scene in the apartment in the first Jason Bourne..where he stabs the guy in the hand with the pen, that to me was exceptional

Now that kingsman has been around for a bit i cant help but realize the actors in both movies have simular fighting styles

Quantum of Solace, chef kiss* magnificent.
The white guy in the first scene has an awesome interview about his job as a martial artist stuntman.
Scott Adkins
the way Bond just waits for his opponent to die, giving him his own space...awesome dude!!!!
I actually believe that he was just waiting for his assailant to lose consciousness, so he can get up and leave without any problems (why else keep a grip on their arm after he already stabbed them in neck? he's hurt but not finished that is why)
Of course though the guy bled out afterward , in a real situation that wound would have been fatal after 3 minutes without medical attention
1:33 is one of the most amazing kicks I've ever seen.

this is all thanks to bruce lee. prior to him the fight scenes where somewhere between "wtf?" "and are you kidding me that's the fight?" also "that's the fighter?" find an action movie or tv series prior to bruce lee where the fight were not hay makers and comical while the fighters were not out of shape couch potatoes. Hollywood has forever changed after Bruce.
English for Vietnamese Thank You Sir.
these fights are also pretty comical
@@zacherywesterberg4137 not as comical as batman fight scenes when bruce was making movies. they did a crossover with the green hornet and batman. The meeting between the action heroes of the time and bruce was funny for us and stressful for them. Robin was supposed to beat kato in the original script. for those who saw the episode they fought to a draw. The actor playing robin was terrified for his life because he was quite honest with himself. you can see the choreography level being used at the time and what bruce lee did.
English for Vietnamese i believe that without a doubt, bruce lee was one of a kind. all i’m saying is that a lot of these clips are over the top. they show some resemblance of a few fighting styles, but hollywood’ed up.
@@zacherywesterberg4137 for sure! it's supposed to be flashy fighting not realistic fighting. my point was that movies were made with over the top and higher impact action because of bruce lee not because it was more realistic. UFC needs to create a charity league of all these movie experts. Three rounds and the winner’s money goes to their charity of choice.
Great idea but it will never happen. Remember that these guys are actors too. Their faces are their brand and their money-makers. They won't risk that in a full contact fight.
I guess that really makes sense.

Try the hallway fight in Oldboy
That's called real life, also potential life sentence.

That fight with Donnie Yen is so good.
Only John Wick can show professional courtesy when killing someone trying to kill him😊
He didn't kill him though
