    PLUS DC Coupled Outputs!! Arturias new AudioFuse X8 IN and X8 OUT are ADAT/Word Clock expansions for your audio interface. Super simple to use, look the part and are affordable .. oh and sound great.
    Its not easy to demo how nice they sound on UA-cam, but they sound more than fine. I've used them on my AudioFuse 16 Rig and Focusrite Scarlett without issue. Pretty much plug and play.

      @@Abell85Studios correct, just DC coupled outs - are you thinking of sampling modulation signals to control software? Interesting idea if so

      @@TomMadisonSoundsLewis ah no a bit simpler haha I don't wanna use or buy a hardware oscilloscope and wanna use the scope in vcv Rack like I do for audio stuff, but doesn't work for CV from modular without DC coupled ins. Only interface I know of is from expert sleepers the eurorack Module, but is a huge price tag.

    • @TomMadisonSoundsLewis

      @@Abell85Studios That's not a bad idea at all! I know there's some DC blocking features in VCV Rack which might extend to the Audio 8 or Audio 16 input channels, so you might be able to fumble that functionality in VCV...

    Thanks arturia! That's all I wanted for years now. A bunch of converters with no shenanigans, with good prizing, to get more synth into the daw. That is amazing!

  • @JBrm

    I like that they added WordClock inputs, so one doesn't have to sync the audio interface to the ADAT but the other way around. Which is what I would recommend to everyone with a good interface, btw.

    • @HJPhilippi
      @HJPhilippi 5 днів тому

      If not using WordClock for synchronization, but ADAT itself, is a single cable sufficient for this? No matter which direction and which device takes the master clock role?

    • @JBrm
      @JBrm 5 днів тому +1

      @@HJPhilippi no. It's always the receiving end that can sync to the incoming adat signal, it doesn't work the other way around.

    These are great, provided on a PC you don’t need more than 32 inputs. I wish more manufacturers would support network protocols like AVB. This allows me to get 96 simultaneous inputs at 48khz using MOTU interfaces.

    This is brilliant. I can now keep my digiface usb on my small rig and have professional ins and outs. I was going to sell the digiface and try to buy a babyface pro. But for cheaper I can have 8 ins/outs.

  • @SeverityOne
    @SeverityOne 7 днів тому

    Had Arturia come out with these (and the AudioFuse 16Rig) earlier, I might actually have seriously considered them. Instead I went with a MOTU 24Ai, and recently acquired another one (still on its way). For one thing, you get an IEC C14 plug, and you get 48 inputs in 2U. The special DB25-to-TRS snakes are a pain, though, and rather pricey.

    I have analog synths with high level output and other have lower output levels. I don't see any sense to have no gain on the input module, to get a decent level in the DAW. But for what are the buttons on the input module?

    • @StarskyCarr
      @StarskyCarr  6 днів тому

      Its standard for ADAT expansions, unless you look for ones with pre-amps. you may be running through a desk so can add the level there. The buttons are for pad and stereo link.

    The Audient Evo SP8 is effectively both these units in one device for half the price. Maybe the conversion isn’t as good but definitely not 100% worse.

    • @StarskyCarr

      Different things really. These are designed as expansions, so you can add 8, whereas the Ferrofish is 16x16 but costs more in total (less per i/o). But there's defo lots of choice.
