      Yes, they are perennial and need some protected area for cold winters. Hope you will be able to keep them for many years. Thank you so much for your comment!

    I had beautiful Rosemary, at one time they looked like some kind of bug or spider turned them grey and they died. Even new pots and soil but same thing happened. Love cooking with Rosemary, going to follow your video and try again. Thank you!

      Most probably they are spider mites. Spider mites thrive in hot, dusty conditions, so keeping plants watered helps prevent problems. To manage them, first try to spray the plants with water thoroughly. Also try to cover plants with lightweight cloth for a couple of days. Shade and moist conditions will set back spider mites. And lastly to save a damaged plant, spray plants with neem oil solution every few days. Hope yo have abetter results next time. Thank you so much for your comment!

    I've not been successful in growing my favorite herb ROSEMARY. Will continue to try until maybe one day it will grow not an easy process.

      The key for germination is light. If you expose seeds to light they will germinate, although the germination rate is very low. Keep trying and I am sure you will be able to grow amazing Rosemary plants! Thank you so much for your comment!

    I just planted my rosemary seeds yesterday and this video helps me to know the next steps
    I'm wondering what nutrient ratio should I use for the fertilizer after germination?
    Can I already give fertilizer to them before?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  25 днів тому

      Glad it was helpful! If you prick them out in a rich soil, you won't need to add fertilizers for seedlings. But if you want to keep the in the same pot, start feeding them when they have 2-3 sets of leaves. Young seedlings do not need any fertilizer. check this video on how I fertilize my seedlings: ua-cam.com/video/AIeiB31yEJw/v-deo.htmlsi=cbLI6skRb2gTtGu4 . Happy growing and thank you so much for your comment!

      Drainage is key. Make sure the soil is well draining- adding perlite or sand is very helpful. And never overwater them, wait until soil is almost dry between watering. Hope you have a better results next time and thank you so much for your comment!

      @@sevenkpink2894 Although very big containers can lead to soggy soil and root rot, the main issue is lack of drainage. You can check my answer to the comments if interested, Thank you so much for your comment!

    What are the green tubs that you start your seed in, and where can I find them?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  День тому

      They are seed tray you can get online here: www.greenhousemegastore.com/collections/trays-flats/products/mini-seed-tray-with-holes . You can also find similar trays at IKEA but you need to add some holes for drainage: www.ikea.com/us/en/p/nojig-organizer-plastic-beige-70457487/#content . Hope this helps and thank you for visiting!

    Mine one is not spreading like it should. Purchased from nursery when itwas 10 inches..it's still the same. Added compost, and everything..kept in light .. summer winter both...nstill not spreading like yours did in the end

    • @TowardGarden

      I can't tell without seeing, but maybe there is something going on in the soil effecting the roots. Rosemary have a very sensitive root, is there any bug, bad fungus, or nematode present in the soil? Maybe you can try drenching the soil with a fungicide? Hope your plant thrives. Thank you for visiting!

    • @doraTV__
      @doraTV__ 13 днів тому +1

      @TowardGarden no nothing. It's perfect.
      Infact 2yrs back when i purchased it, it spread like it should but during hot summer-rainy season.. (April -August indian weather). But later don't know what happened to it, it suddenly got orange red brownish from the stems and the leaves started getting drying, although I kept awY from sun and rain during that time.
      Unfortunately that plant didn't survived
      Then I had to purchase a new Rosemary. Let's see if this one too grows in April to august in bunches like yours did ...

    I have problem growing rosemary, always has black aphids, i try insectiside but no result, my rosemary dying 😢

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  2 місяці тому +2

      Sorry to hear that. Try a high pressure water spray to remove aphids from plants. Follow up with applications of insecticidal soap, I recommend neem oil and spinosad mix (2-3 days apart). Be sure to apply the spray to leaf undersides and crevices. Hope you will be able to save your plants and thank you so much for your comment!
