      What a coincidence 🙂 I suggest You grow Rosemary from seeds 🌱 It will take much longer till You get Your first harvest, but it seems to me, that it's more rewarding to grow plants from seeds. And by the way, it's about the time to sow them 😉
      Thank You very much! ☺🍀

      @@Liap After watching you, I will! I always thought it was a tedious process, but it was just like me planting Parsley for the first time last year-Took a couple of weeks to germinate, but once it was up, it was smooth sailing! Thank you! 🫶🏽

      @@TheeJoieDeVivreGarden Yes absolutely. Rosemary seeds are on of those with lower germination rate so that may discourage some folks from starting these plants from seeds, but If You allow seeds to have some light and right temperature, they will do just fine. And exactly like You said with parsley, once they will germinate it is a smooth sailing 😎🌱

    Beautiful! I've been seeing videos where people transplant the seedings together, so they'll bunch up 2 or 3 together. They don't have any follow up videos so I don't know what their results are. Would that be something you would recommend doing? It doesn't seem like this plant would do so well so close to one another.

    • @Liap
      @Liap  9 місяців тому +2

      No, I would not recommend doing so. Rosemary plants can grow to some serious size, especially when grown in open garden or big containers. Being so close to each other, not only will they fight for water and nutrients, but the air circulation will be limited and therefore putting them at higher risk of developing powdery mildew or other fungal diseases cause by not allowing enough air flow. I mean they might grow, but I think these plants are do much better when given enough space.
      Thank You very much ☺🍀

    You do this with such ease. I have a question, what do you do with the trimmings? I put mine in a spice jar that I washed and dried and my rosemary leaves became moldy. Why did this happen? The jar was dry and so were the leaves? 😞

    • @Liap
      @Liap  6 місяців тому

      Hello. Well, I can't be sure, but the mold suggests that those leaves were not completely dry. Is there a chance this would be the case?

    I have seen on one of these channels cold stratification making the seeds have a high germination rate.
    Is this necessary to place it on the damp cloth in a zip lock then place it in the fridge?

    • @Liap
      @Liap  7 місяців тому

      Hello. While it is not necessary, it can increase the germination rate and also shorten the time required for germination.

    • @Liap
      @Liap  9 місяців тому

      If You won't harvest the foliage, it will start to produce flowers and therefore seeds. It happens in late spring and early summer. But remember, in order to make Rosemary fully bloom, it needs full sun.

      Hello. Are You sure You didn't overwater it? Rosemary plants are quite prone to root rot. Well, the best thing You can do is to prune any dead foliage away, put them in warm and sunny spot and give them a little bit of fertilizer, like fish emulsion, kelp or seaweed (if it's not overwatered).

    • @mekfly9231
      @mekfly9231 9 місяців тому

      @@Liap It's in a very chunky soil mix, get bottom watered when completely dry and has quite a good amount of sun even though it's winter 🤔 I should probably check the roots before I throw it away 😅 thanks for the answer 🥰 maybe I can keep the propagations alive 🙈

    • @Liap
      @Liap  9 місяців тому +1

      @@mekfly9231 Or You can get rid of the old chunky soil mix (to a degree) and give it fresh new well draining soil mix. And You will also be able to tell whether it's still alive or gone. It is very easy to overwater Rosemary in winter, even in sunny spot. Days are short and this plant needs quite little water at that time of the year. At least here where we have freezing cold winters. But according to Your response, this might not be the case.
