That Iroc is pretty awesome! When I turned 16 my grandfather took me to a car dealership and told me that I could test drive any one car I wanted. I picked an RS Camero from 1988 that had a 400 swapped engine! Fun Fun Fun!

I really appreciated how Mr. Rawlings started selling himself long before he started talking business. I would think he is naturally that way, but everyone knows being a friend is good for business negotiations.
Wow, 2 cameros in one find, I'm a chevy person myself and used to own a cherry 1986 Iroq 350 5-speed. Definitely a blast to drive. Glad you found one that was taken care of, you'll love driving it.

@@heinrichbier4759 it's not discovery.. lol.. she even said don't tell her husband.. but then shawn kept asking him for a quarter and then told him why he was asking for a quarter.. why would Richard wanting to save a couple grand be for show?. I would take a gamble on that also lol..
The doors are heavy because they needed to put in crash protection which was becoming mandatory in the 70s. It was basically a giant piece of side rail inside the door. The same you see on the highway.
I have a black 87 IROC. Build it period correct how you would have modified it back in that time period. It looks clean, don't cut it up or take away what made you love the car in the first place. That's how mine is done. Tasteful upgrades. Going on 31 years of great times with it. It will hold it's own and still look like it belongs in the 80's still. Every time I get in it brings me back to the good old days!! Except now I don't have my mullet 🍻
Looking forward to seeing details etc. etc. on that beautiful IROC. Sweet ride, perfect color. I would get it running cleaned up and buffed out, for now, then maybe an LS swap / drive-line upgrade in the future. I have an 84, rust free Black, loaded with an LQ9, built 4L656E, and upgraded rear end, anti-spin and disk brakes, made the car come to life.
As a Cincinnati man myself, I appreciate all you do brother!! Yesterday was my first workout with you, I was sweaty and tired but I felt great this morning! Keep going 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love the 91 step side.. I’ve got a 90 step side single cab with almost zero rust sitting in the back.. and my cousin In Michigan has an iroc-z with maybe 1200 miles on it still has the plastic on the seats.. Great video.. I truly finally related to one.. lol y’all stay blessed @RichardRawlings @Chase @Phipps !!
Richard you guys need to come to the Petit Jean swap meet and car show. I'm sure the ladies at Luckys told you about it. Lots of old cars, running, some not so much. 20 acreas of swap meet...
Just love it when Richard Does one of his mega deals! this trip has turned out to be a great deal making trip. Can't wait to see what is going to happen to them next. Hey Richard,,all you have to do is check the 8th vin number on that year iroc to see what motor it has in it all truck 350 was 75 percent k motors,, just trying to pass a little knowledge
One of my favorite episodes, down to earth sellers and an over all great conversations. I laughed a couple times with the conversations you all had. We have an iroc in our driveway/parking lot. White with red stripes.
I had an 87' I ROC Z28 when I was 17 in 2004 Black on black with vin engraved T-tops.. And an 89'RS that went 0-60 in 2 days flat (Bad throttle control and speed position sensors).. I wish I hadn't blown that IRoc!!! When I got it, it had a 454 (obviously not factory) with a 6 speed which needed to be replaced or rebuilt.. But I drove on it for a while before I dropped in a a 5 speed I got with the factory 350.. Took 2 weeks before I forgot it wasn't a 6 speed on the highway one day.. And where 6th USED TO BE was now REVERSE.. I was only 17!!!! The noise it made before 2 pistons shot through the hood..
Should have lifted the hood first on Iroc . Rear bumper should show if it's a 5.7 . Either they put a 4 bbl intake on a tune port car , or you have a truck engine swap ????
My friends n I rolled one, I was ejected out the tee tops, (lil bit of road rash), once it stopped rolling, I awoke to find myself laying in the middle of the street, I could hear faint whimpering, I got up, made my way to them, it was right side up, my friend hanging out the back window, the driver draped over his side of the windshield, our fourth friend was in his same spot, no seat belts!!! But we all walked away pre much unscathed, moral, dont drink and drive!!!!!!.
Love to watch all those conversations. Gas Monkey has the best car buying videos on UA-cam! The camera crew does a great job doing this episodes! 💪🏽👌🏽 Greetings from Puerto Rico 🌴✌🏽😎
Besides the sticker on the underside of the hood, the rocker next to Italian Reject Out Cruising would say 5.7 if it had no number then it’s a 305. And the same with the right side of the rear facia cover!!
had a 87 IROC, bought it new in Dallas, the one car i really regret getting rid of! dark red metallic , the gold pin stripes, gold rims, tan interior. T-tops. fun cars back then, chicks loved em! 😁
My father bought a 78 grand lemans todoor with stock 305 ci it's got a 67 328 Pontiac in it now he's also got a 85 2wd Chevy Silverado with 305 still turning miles all stock

They never put a 350 in a T TOP or convertible iroc due to the roof being part of the structure support. Convertible and T TOP were at 305. Coupe was 305 or 350.
87 TA and Camaro only came with a 305 with t-tops; if you had a factory 350, it was the coupe. And the 87 350 was a tuned port injection, not carbed or tbi.
Well as a Camaro guy, Who has a 74 in his garage I really like the 70... However I can't afford it... I've owned my brother's 92 with black stripes Daytona hood Z28 wing on an RS. They're making it come back... My brother had an 86 IROC He also had another 87 or something for a while... So yeah... I don't know I might leave that IROC alone if I were you... All original number matching only gonna go up in value... However be sweet with a Procharged LS Swap... I definitely recommend a Daytona style hood scoop, You go that route... If it's a manual it's differently a 305 I don't believe they put any 350 with a 5 speed GM didn't think that weak transmission could take it.
That Iroc is a 305, it has TBI or throttle body intjection, if it was a 350 it would have TPI, or tuned port injection, also would have a badge on the rear bumper stating 5.7 TPI.

I’m quite certain an 87 IROC should have TPI (Tubed Port Injection). Shouldn’t be carbureted or throttle body. My 85 was TPI with a 305.
I love when Richard is in a good mood he was messing with that lady cracking me up
