There comes a time when you have to cut loose your sentiment and just clear out. Better to get most of these vehicles new owners that will keep them on the road, rather than allow them to disintegrate into history. Thank for sharing your excursions.

My old man has a similar mentality, although he only has 1.5 buildings filled with stuff, and we’ve whittled it down to two cars now, one of them being a daily, the other a project. Still a bunch of stuff left to go through, but now it’s somewhat manageable. I even constructed a weatherproof steel building attachment onto his pre-existing shop to help create more floor & wall space. Made it out of scratch materials. He leaves most of the laborious work to me, naturally. But it’s been really important for me as his son to have helped & continue to help go through & organize his mess. He gets to see some completion, and I either have to do it now with him here, or do it later without. It’s much better to do it with him here.

History of the car isnt always just idle chatter. If one car had one lady owner from new and a full service history and an identical model beside it had 24 owners and no paperwork, which would you buy first.
Right on Richard I agree with some of the other posts I do like this format better. I liked watching the cars come together and the builds, but this seems to be a little bit more realistic the back-and-forth with the people. I will continue to watch thank you for the episode😎
At least this guy had the presence of mind to park them indoors. Too many cars rusted away in junk yards and farm fields. I'm 65 and all you saw everywhere were yards full of cool old cars from the 30s to the 50s. All gone now, almost.

His last head mechanic Aaron takes 1 year+ per project at his new shop. Although i think he only has one employee. Gas Monkey isn't a true shop. It's a film set with a Gas Monkey merch shop next door. Richard is the "star" and his lackeys are his co stars. He knows UA-cam, endorsement deals, and selling merch are where the money's at. And I'm not knocking his hustle, he has a good business sense.

I came across a large car collection somewhere around Perham mn back in 95. I was looking for a 54 glass top. he had one it was pretty rough but all the cars inside the buildings were in pretty good shape.
