Thanks for the Tip! I looked a bit more into it and it seems like in WordPress 5.5 they actually added a specific filter for this:
add_filter( 'do_redirect_guess_404_permalink', '__return_false' );
So you can use this aswell.

Great tutorial here! I find it quite helpful lately to dig into the WordPress redirect and request system. It‘s great to try to understand the underlying process and „thoughts“ it‘s doing. Would be great do do a follow up on this topic about the request system and how WP is determine which post type or taxinomy to load. Once I got this, it‘s suuuuper helpful to build great custom url structures or combine different content types and taxonomies which each other… maybe someone is interested on this as well! Cheers and keep going the great content @WPCasts!
