I've rarely seen such a precise, informative, short and complete free tutorial, which additionally uses practically only tools which are available for free! Thanks a lot mate!
I always appreciate how you showcase a lot of the things that people starting out tend to miss because everyone in the industry just considers them default knowledge. These types of videos are so important for teaching newer devs while encouraging understanding instead of blind following of instructions. Excellent work!
WOW, I learned so much that I had missed on when I was starting my website. I just wish whole UA-cam was filled with content like this. Great stuff. Keep making more please!
This was an awesome tutorial. You did a fantastic job at explaining the technical concepts, breaking things into steps and calmly (no hyped up voice). Totally loved and thanks for making this video.
Incredible! I was holding my head in my hands thinking I was using a dodgy WordPress theme or lousy hosting and shuddering at the thought of having to shell out more money to fix it. You’re video does an excellent job of explaining very clearly the steps needed to resolve this. Thank you so much! 😁
Man you are amazing, I just don’t know how to thank you enough. You opened my eyes on so many things were going on on my site that I was not really paying attention to. My bounce rate is high due to slow loading. The number of requests is about 150-190 on blog posts that’s totally crazy. I was able to reduce things here and there after watching your video. Now my site is way better but needs more work to do later for speed and number of unused requests. I just found out that a quiz I have on one post loading everywhere on my site 👎. Thank you so much man.
Keep this type of content up man. It is extremely helpful for those that are starting out and those who have been going at it a while to see an actual methodical process taking place. Sometimes its great to just get an insight into how people approach a problem and how they go about fixing it. Great job. Very useful.
I know enough about WP to make myself dangerous. Your vids are awesome and are helping me a lot. I not only like the tech, I like your demeanor and delivery. Keep up the great work!
Love it, an excellent reference. I've been aware of most of these features individually but seeing them all brought together and explained step by step is a great help.
What an amazing gig you have landed! You have provided me some answers that I have understood for the first time. You´ve earned my thumb up and got a new subscriber ;-)
This is very detailed explanation and by far the beat I watched. It requires too much work for huge sites with many blog posts. But definitely worth applying on the top pages and the services pages to not lose ranking. Thank you so much for your time and sharing your knowledge with us. Great work.
+1 for mentioning Gulp. Back in the day, I used to use Grunt for CSS / JS minification. As time went on, I found using it was slowing down my computer. It got to the point where running Grunt tasks made my computer freeze. Switch over to Gulp, no problems at all.
For me, you explained everything really well until 18:50. There the screen shifts and we see the WP content with all its files. I have no idea how you got there (I didn't understand how you access these files) and consequently cannot really follow the rest of the video. Can you please explain? Thanks!
Starting out in WP wit Elementor Pro and a few different themes. Always interested in learning new things, especially along seo and associated subjects. Thanks for this presentation.
How do you find Elementor Pro speed results? Do you think you can get it all green scores in Page Speed? I'm sceptical and yet to see proof of results.
@@bw2903 I am also in this canoe using EP and it is a challenge for sure. I would be surprised to see it hit 90 let alone 100 especially on larger sites
@@Website-Developer I'd love to be proven wrong. But after a month of research I ended up pulling the pin and moving on. Trying a few different ways of building. I have the same problem too with the woocommerce website. The site is already optimized and has 60 score on mobile but the render blocking resources is still there.
I am watching and doing everything in the video, if I have photos that are not in the main page do they have influence on the speed of the site too? thank you for your help.
Thanks for the informational video. But WHY did you "uncheck disable cache" at last, all the files are loaded from local disk or memory. 33:00 But I still respect your help.
Great video! I need to fix server scaled images, optimize images and inline small css? which plugins can I use to improve that ( I use cloudflare as cdn)
Great 🙏🏻 first time I have seen someone show the network and lighthouse audit which is always available at any modern browser to check page speed. Otherwise everyone will suggest you to use gtmetrix or pingdom tools❤️
Hi there Alex, LOVE YOUR STUFF! Also, I would love if you can launch a more in-depth video tutorial (perhaps it can turn out to be a mini-series) on how to fully optimize a WordPress site page loading speed. What I would REALLY love to see is instead of optimizing a pre-made website for the sole purpose of this tutorial, to see your work on a live site. Perhaps this is something you can run here on your channel among your subscribers. I am sure there will be tons of us looking to improve a WordPress speed performance willing to share their sites with you to do this. What do you think?
Great Video as always. I was using gtmetrix/web.dev but I had no idea that Chrome can do all of this stuff lol and the Asset Cleanup Plugin is really neat, will use it from now on. Also I was always using 1920 on FullWdith didnt know that I can use 1600 instead
Hi WPCast. I enjoy your videos and this one in particular. I did a Gtmetrix evaluation on a page of mine and it suggested to rescale an image to 50% of the original size. I found the image in the media library and rescaled it like you showed in this video, but the result was a blurry image when I refreshed the page. Have I done something wrong?
