Up in McCall, north of the lake there's a 25 mile snowmobile tracked road that leads to the Burgdorf Hot Springs. It has winter cabins that a friend and I fat biked to in 2016. They have wood fire stoves to keep you warm and a great hot springs pool to soak into. Next time you are in the area perhaps check it out!
I never realized how much riding snow mobiles was like riding motocross combined with riding a jet ski/wave runner combined with the directional change challenges of a boat. Great video, I enjoy the variety.
Just watching this makes me feel a little exhausted. I've been in that deep of snow several times and it always saps so much energy trying to move around in it.
I've only rode a snowmobile 1 time in my life and that was in 1978. It was a Bombardier Ski-Doo and I got that stuck several times. Good fun, though. I have to say, Trent, you all ride those things like I ride my personal watercraft. Its a Bombardier Sea-Doo. Great video!
Trent, you brought back a lot of memories for me. When I was living in the mountains I used to blaze around just like you are doing. I felt like I was riding the sled when I switched to full screen. Absolutely loved this video!! You were filming, I was driving. I rode an El Tigra 6000 back in the 80's
MAN, that place is friggin GORGEOUS! Even the ride out there on the highway was just unbelievable!! Great vid, Trent!! I'm just blown away at modern sleds. Last one I had was a '78 John Deere Trailfire 440 (had an air-cooled Kawasaki twin under the hood). One time we rode in 2' of powder - it all bunched up over the hood, and the machine started to Chernobyl, lol! Not even 10 minutes in. We had to wait for guys with the new (1982) stuff to go through and break trail first. Very low-tech stuff. The front suspension reminded me of screen door damper pistons, HAHAHA! I remember getting a ride on my dad's buddy's brand spankin' new '83 Indy 600 - that thing was INSANE!! That was the fastest I had ever gone on land in my life at that point in time. We hit 95 on a lake in SECONDS!! Thing handled 400x better than our John Deere did at half that speed, HAHAHA! And I bet that thing is a total relic compared to this new stuff. No way we could've got more than 50' in that kind of snow you guys were in!! Even on that Indy! That was amazing! 😎😎😎
Honestly, TOP 5 Channels on ALL of YT! Best content and that sled is straight BEAST mode!! @trentpalmer When can we expect more airplane hats to be back in stock???
Makes me feel better with my idea of starting my journey with getting into flying. I plan on doing the same thing as Cory with his plane. Want to buy someone’s project and finish it then learn to fly.
I remember my snowmobile riding days. I see you didn't show all the work it takes when you get stuck, especially with older sleds. Fun and dreadful all in one but worth every minute.
Back in the 70's in Alberta there used be what was called poker rally's, which could go from the rockys all the way to Saskatchewan. They would bring out tons of skidoo's. There was a path that my friends and I would use going to the local lake. I miss skidooin.
Dam look at that deep snow. At10:00 I wish you would’ve turned around and showed that carrier in the back of that Ford pick up that look like a pretty fancy rig is tilted back.
Had to comment so I finally subscribed after 3 years of freeloading, sorry. You are the 1st and only channel I've ever subscribed to. Thanks for many hours of entertainment. Really like all of your content, seen most of your vids. I like all the stuff about your house and Hailey and all non flying related content. Skiing and snowmobiling are almost as fun as back country flying although it's been awhile since I have flown but I plan on getting back into flying because of your vids and also Jonas' vids. Nothing better than that champagne powder y'all get up in the northwest. Thanks again for all the great vids, love the high sierra stuff especially.
Was that rabbit tracks at 14:34? Cool video, being from the Deep South I’ve never been in snow anywhere close to that deep. Very pretty scenery, I love the mountains!
Believe it or not I had my 1976 Ski doo Olympic out in the woods yesterday in Northern Minnesota. Still starts on the 3rd pull, but the skis will not leave the ground. LOL Fun video, Thanks
Excellent video, again. I'm another former rider (and racer) of these sleds back in the last century. When I was active, sleds didn't have reverse, a track that was 10 feet long, and a very large engine was 600cc. A-arm suspensions were just becoming the norm, but I swear they had a wider stance than the ones you are riding. Can that be true?
OMG! What gorgeous country. For a desert rat like me this looks like heaven. Thank you so much for taking me along. Oh, and thanks for not including any footage of the hot tube🤦♂️. Thanks again, Gary
Great video. That looks like a lot of fun - and like there could be a steep learning curve! Would love to see you try out a Timbersled-equipped dirt bike.
ive always wanted to snowmobile but i grew up and live in Pennsylvania and we just dont get the type of snow needed for good snowmobiling, so it was super rare for people around here to own one, and definitely wasnt worth it financially to own one considering the limited use it would get. but one day i will. also, as a car guy, that turbo flutter is just amazing.
I work in McCall and was just talking to a pilot this morning about your videos. I told him that you like to come up here for the back country flying. Now here you are posting about snowmobiling up here too. Personally, I think snowbikes trump snowmobiles, especially for getting unstuck.
Trent, that’s the scariest video of yours that I’ve seen. Don’t let Haley see this one. You’ll never get to go snowmobiling again. I totally enjoyed it but thought for sure you were going to hit a tree. I thought the back country flying was dangerous but you make look relatively safe. The back country snowmobiling is “crazy”. You and the flying cowboys, especially Mike Patey have been constant inspiration for me to get current last summer and now, to work on my IFR rating.
Hi Trent, That was a great video! It's incredible how the sleds have changed. I have a friend/former student that heads out west. I think his last one was in Montana. He runs AV gas in his...He usually sends me pictures. It definitely looks like fun, but a lot of work. I learned the hard way not to put your foot down ever...knee was the size of a grapefruit. Take care, Be safe
As a guy who loves backcountry snowmobiling and flying airplanes, this was right up my alley. Hauling my boosted Polaris out to Driggs, Idaho and riding Island Park and Jackson Hole next weekend, after that sled season is over and back to flying amd finishing up my PPL. I think you would like a Matryx Boost Slash RMK over the Khaos, the Khaos is very playful but as you know, a handful in the deep pow. The RMK can get up and stay on top of the snow easier, much better in the trees too. Khaos is better for tricks and wheelies, RMK will keep the skis down a little easier and keep from trenching more. Love the vids bud.
Looks like fun Trent, some years ago I would have been up there playing with you kids. But life changes say not likely. It's funny watching you guys having fun up in the snow.
That's nuts that you can wheelie just by throttling it! I need a boosted sled. My 800 skidoo won't do that. That day 2 zone looked way easier to ride. Sleds are so difficult!
wife & i are heading to burgdorff hot springs next week for a couple of nights... wish you had been more specific to where you were..the parking looked familiar ..
Awesome video! Any of that footage up in Payette? Spent a Boise New Years layover in McCall a few years back and did a half day guided tour from Brundage Mountain, it was a blast! First time on a modern sled (or any sled in over 30 years!)
Hey Trent, I was up in McCall about three weeks ago just to enjoy the Ice Sculpture competition and the sleigh ride to the wild elks, but next year is for sure some snowmobile riding. Not to far for me from Idaho Falls. Good video!!!
That khaos looks way harder to ride than a pro. Did you try your buddies sled? It's a totally different animal when the ski's aren't in the air the entire time.
Thank you for buying Idaho tags and supporting our local groomers! That was my Fiancé grooming the trails when you passed him on your video.
Was it really?! Small world!
I literally want to wake up one morning to discover my portfolio is above $60k
@@harrisvangeest5134 I will recommend you stop trading on your own if you keep losing and start trading with a professional.
The mentorship from a professional coach should definitely be the first step taken while trading.
Speaking of guide,I would advice you reach out to Juan Antonio Landa. she is my guide, she’s really the best at what she does.
Backcountry riding, trucks, drones, aviation, house building. You are my spirit animal.

Love videos like this!!! Aviation is amazing but love these departures from time to time
I enjoy your videos so very much. It’s like taking a 17 minute vacation for me. Thank you Trent!!
You are the type of people that just like to wheelie the sleds, and therefore you trench a lot. But at least you had a blast!
I don’t ride sleds so that was intense. My body was moving as you flew through those trees and bumps. Did not know it was that tough. Amazing
Last time I was snowmobiling was in high school, with Dad's '72 Ski-doo. Way different - except for the getting stuck part. LOL
Great example of how to have fun on Considerable days. Low angle, low consequence, high fun. Awesome!

I'd love to see more snowmobile adventures if you get a chance. That was really cool.
Another spectacularly GREAT video Trent!! Enjoy the ‘other than airplane’ videos just as much as airplane videos. Keep them coming!
Agreed. Everything he does is awesome. Would love to see a video on his professional camera rigs.
Honestly, TOP 5 Channels on ALL of YT! Best content and that sled is straight BEAST mode!! @trentpalmer When can we expect more airplane hats to be back in stock???
They are in production now!

Wow, loading up on that PU bed seems sketchy!! Beautiful country!! Really screaming machines!!
Man that looks fun! Doing activities like this in the winter and following it up with a brewery is the absolute best 👌
Fun is Fun! Enjoy and we'll come along for the Rides! Thx!!!
Looked like the group had a good time. Hope everyone is doing well. Take care - be safe.
I remember my snowmobile riding days. I see you didn't show all the work it takes when you get stuck, especially with older sleds. Fun and dreadful all in one but worth every minute.
Snowmobiling is now on my bucket-list. Thanks for sharing this adventure.

Amazing power in these sleds. Used to get buried, (ie, stuck), and you would be digging for the the rest of the day!

I've hauled quite a few Polaris sleds to the dealership on the south side of McCall. Have always wanted to ride out there during winter.
The Munster Finger Throttle is the a game changer.
wow, such wide open little trees ! looks like a sweet zone, started to look a better zone at the end!
Yeah Trent! Looks like a ton of fun up there. Have to get you down to South Lake / Blue Lakes to ride soon!
Excellent: in spring try jughandle mt. West mountain anytime during the winter. Oh and Lick Creek too. I’m from McCall. Years ago

Wow Trent, thank you for the Ride Along!!! Yee Haa!!!
Awesome! Looks like an incredible time… amazing scenery.
That POWDER!!!!!! I love winter.
Amazing video. I love snow mobiling. Every year I go out west for a snowboarding trip and have to take a day to snowmobile. It is exhausting.

That is way too much fun you guys....keep it up...love it.
I love snowmobiling, I'm always exhausted after a full day of harsh riding
This upcoming winter, try the Ashton area. You get some pretty awesome views out east as well. I'll bring my drone stuff too

Glad you had a great time! I saw you were turning 8500 on the Tach before the LCD froze up.
Yess! Two of my favorite things! Sledding and drones. Cheers
I love the videos Trent...enough so that I have started my pilot training. Keep it up!
One day I'll get to experience that west side deep mountain powder!! Awesome video of your adventure!

It's the screens on the pump. They collapse and restricts the flow to the pump. There is a fix out there. Another great video.

Loved this video, reminds me of the sledding trips with my Dad and uncle in the UP of Michigan.
You guys ride those things like an original Kaw-Jetski ... looks like fun
Up in my stomping grounds. It's been a weird snow year
Awesome, especially the Drone footage.
Looks like fun Trent, some years ago I would have been up there playing with you kids. But life changes say not likely.

Good morning from Minnesota! Great video!!
Adventure exploring and fun, who'd of thought.
ive been watching your channel for a long time now and this is probably the first time I've seen your hair.
Just sick Trent! That was an awesome video!
Thanks man!

Thanks for sharing that beautiful back country. A little hard to imagine as we cook here in Australian summer. 😉
Looked like a ton of fun. Beautiful snow!
That looked like a LOT of fun!! I want to try that.
Thank you for taking the time to bring a camera. I love the flying videos most but this was kick ass as well. 👍🏻
You are living right, brother. Beautiful country and awesome video!
Nice job, great snowmachine riding and filming 😄👍
Wicked vlog. Top stuff on the drown footage. You guys where having a blast 💥. Nicely done guys👏👏👏😤😤😤
Glad you had a awesome visit to McCall. Give me a ring and I can take you out and show you the goods. Phil with 208 is a local stud
Looks fun! Do a video about your sled and the equipment you take.
The snow sparkling in the sun at McCall 😍
Beautiful area in Idaho
Looks super fun!
Some quality content right there! Looks like a ton of fun!

Great video quality! Even in such cold conditions. Come up to my neighborhood sometime at Diamond Lake, Oregon for more snowmobile heaven.
Looks like fun and all but i’m so happy this is jot allowed where i live… i like my mountains quiet und respectfully touched…
Epic vid, this is a dream to go snow mobile and learn to ski
Scenery is gorgeous, doesn't even seem real like it's out of a Pixar movie
Man if I could have someone’s life style it will be yours!
Hit me up the next time next time you in McCall!
Haha yeah Phil!!!
Great vid Trent. Enjoyed the content and good to see you man👍.
DANG when was this? I was in McCall from Feb 4th to the 13th, so jealous I missed the powder!!
Trent you make such awesome video! Thank you for the fun content!
Epic adventure
I love your sleds! You need to come to Montana.
nice video beautifull scenery keep up the great videos
Looks like you could of used wider skies for that type of snow.
