At the radio controlled airfield we call these the "F.O.G's" .... F@*ken Old Guys. These are the old dudes who hang out and do not, or no longer fly. They just sit there and complain about EVERYTHING. Luckily, now that I fly full scale, I have not met any FOG at the airports that I have been to yet.

The mural on the wall at 4:34 is Richard Halsey Best flying a Douglas Dauntless SBD Dive Bomber scoring a bomb drop against the IJN Akagi during the battle of Midway, June 4th 1942. Akagi would be scuttled by IJN forces as a result of the damage and fires, changing the course of the war in the Pacific.
I thought it was a Dauntless too. I kind of doubted myself at first though because when I looked at pictures, I noticed there's a mast just forward of the canopy on the left side of the fuselage where a cable runs to the vertical stabilizer. It's not on the Dauntless depicted in the mural. was there a different version of the Dauntless that didn't have this mast? Or do you think it's a discrepancy?
You know what though, folks don't tend to tell stories about when everything went right, so I think it's pretty cool that you ran into some problems and worked through them
I really like seeing the Home with a Hanger and Airstrip that place looks amazing. LOVE the Mural on the wall. goes to show there is an Aeronautic community.
Randomly came across your channel while looking up steps to become a pilot and I can honestly say I am very mad I didn't know about you earlier. Fly for hire and fly for fun?! That's the dream, man.
Some of those folks over in Portland do not have any idea the people they have affected by lighting those fires...Probably the same people doing it in California too...Peace with you guys...And clear skies...!!!
Always love your videos, Trent. I'm currently in school to get my A&P so I've been trying to immerse myself in everything in aviation! Part of that is your videos and another big part is RC planes and might I add, I love being able to fly my RC Kitfox at my own little airfield. Keep up the great work and stay safe!
My friend Pat Lee flew there several times with s group of RV’s. He did a presentation on it including a climb up the hillside to a spring fed hot tub.
I do enjoy watching your videos when going through the back country of Idaho and Northwestern Montana. I used to go down there from Edmonton, Alberta for the Glacier Waterton Hamfest. I would drive down for this function and leave my Piper Tri-Pacer in Edmonton.
My 9 year old turned me onto your vids. Thanks for producing such great content that I’m happy to have Ryder watching. We’ve been able to start some flying lessons here in Aiken, South Carolina for him. He is over the moon about you and your awesome plane!
This is too cool. I follow both Jonas Marcinko and Trent so for the last couple weeks I've been watching the same adventure from two different ways of looking at it. Love this stuff.
If you are ever at the Nampa airport again, you ought to try the Tower Grill. It overlooks the airstrip and the food is awesome. Also, I'm pretty close by and have a guest bed, so feel free to drop by if you need a place to crash for the night.
I've been to Stanley before! My band played at the Rod and Gun Saloon (I think that's what its called). We came all the way up from Los Angeles. We played at the Idaho-down too. We drove of course. Looking forward to flying there one day soon.
Hi Trent, I absolutely love the videos. I am currently going through flight school in Phoenix right now and im having a blast, I cant wait to one day be up there doing what you guys do. Awesome videos man.
What a find with that grass strip! My dream location as well - a hangar, runway and a HELICOPTER! Every dream I've had lately, LOL! The scale of that smoke really hit home for me this time. We Easterners just don't get it when you guys talk about the smoke from the wildfires. I get it now, though! WOW!!! That was thick! Great stuff as always, Trent - love the sights out there. EVERYTHING is epic!! 👍🍻
Sorry you had to deal with all of our smoke blowing your way. It's really sad the amount of homes and entire small towns lost. Glad you guys had a great time.
Over all the time I've been watching your UA-cam channel Trent it saddens me to realize this just now but you are living the life I wish I could live don't mess it up
Yep have a great cleaning and fun session in that pool and then get all sweaty climbing back up the slope. Great video and youse Guys are having too much fun . It has got to stop. Regards, Jim in NI UK
That was so cool flying over a strip and the owner waves you in, what a great guy

I love that the owner just waved you in! Something is really nice about that old fashioned “landing clearance”. Great video!
Country folks all over the world are extraordinarily hospitable. They are salts of the earth.

That answers my question. I thought that was a Corsair.
Reply of the year winner.

Had me at honey Sriracha. What a mix!
I think one-wheels are specifically made for bush-pilots. I'm surprised they haven't sponsored your videos yet, lol.
They don’t have to sponsor these videos, they’re getting the advertising for free. ; )

Singletrack on a one wheel!
Flying- “a quick way to get there if you have a lot of time”
Always heard “if you have time to spare, go by air.”
Captain Juan, do you think Jonas is dangerous?
As someone who lives in Nampa, it is really exciting to know I might someday see you flying over the area!
This trip was a blast!! Thanks guys!
