Possibly a great idea for your future in the field radiator repairs. I use QuickSteel 2 part epoxy putty. I cut off what I need, knead it, and pack it into the hole. I usually have holes in the cooling fins themselves, and I can pack this putty into the coil from both sides. It sets quick and is strong. I also use it for brake and clutch levers.
LoL? Bubble gum? In the radiator? Nah. McGuyver it! You got an owl, find the eggs. That's how Mac fixed the Jeep with no tires radiator so they could drive it down the railroad tracks! Love it, keep them coming.

1:50 I always like seeing the towers on the north shore of pyramid lake. For those who are interested in geology. Those towers, rock outcroppings have formed kind of like how the Hawaiian islands form. At pyramid there is geothermal activity in that area. There are geysers right there. Each of those towers were once a geyser. They are built on layers and layers of minerals brought up from the earth's molten core. As the area above have changed, the geysers clog up and move to a different area. Hence why they are scattered apart.

Beeing a Pilot in Germany I would really love to come over and acquire some skills on backcountry flying. Whereas I am confident that I would pick up the necessary piloting skills over time I have huge respect from your abilitites to help yourself with fixing your plane and judging if it is good to go in the middle of nowhere. It looks like your mechanical skills are almost as important for doing backcountry flying as your piloting skills are. Thanks for your absolutely unique and great videos!

When I was a full time helo cfi, I would swap seats based on if I was teaching cfi students or not. Always disconcerting at first but you get used to it.

Your a beast!! I’m not a pilot but have flown in small planes and I can’t imagine driving my stick shift dodge from the other seat shifting with my left much less flying and landing!! Glad it worked out!! Love your videos!!
Can totally relate on that foreign feeling switching over to the right seat man. I'm at the tail end of my flight school stuff and am currently in CFI training practicing all of the commercial pilot level maneuvers from the right seat. Good god was it a tough transition on those first two initial flights. Highly recommend though for you man, just from a safety and proficiency standpoint, that you take that thing out and right seat solo it every now and then. That will help build comfort using the opposite hands for things. Granted you have way more flight hours than me so take this with a grain of salt. But it certainly can't hurt to become proficient from both sides! Love your videos man. Keep putting out great content.

Somebody correct me if I"m wrong, but on the new part the place were the original pedal set failed is not gusseted and is no different than the part that failed. The gusseting is on the pedal but not on the arm that actuates the cable. I was surprised to see the tube actually ripped where the arm attached.
Foiled by an unexpected set of little wings (the owl)! With all the challenges, the trip still succeeded. 'Right hand drive.' Beautiful backcountry and, thankfully, support was still available. Great video. Thanks for the adventure! Keith

I have been into aviation for a long time having worked A/C in the Navy on a carrier. I then worked for a major airline for 26 years. Anyway, keep doing the great work on your videos!!
You should practice both seats I do. And CFI s. Do it all the time. Iam not a CFI but I have a lot of pilot friends and family always wanting to fly and I swap all the time.

Having to replace brake pads cause you were heavy on the breaks will cure you of being heavy on the brakes.

@Trent those cot legs will put small holes in your tent floor. If you have to camp in wet conditions, water will then get in through the floor.

If you push those brakes any harder you will be using the "Flintstone" braking system, Trent.

carry a tube of plumbers putty epoxy with you will seal radiators and fuel tanks in a pinch. only weighs about 3 ounces.
The owl might have been a Northern Pygmy Owl. Cool find either way!
