Beautiful. I watch a lot of blade making videos and Frierk is the best. There are people who craft more intricate and complicated blades but when he works I see a production based method that is based on practicality that gets the job done the fastest easiest way possible that still produces a quality result. You can tell this is a man with a working shop with back log and needs to get these pieces completed and shipped. Love watching him work he's a true master.
This guy costed himself money in grinding belts and grinding wheels by not forging the blade thinner. There is no way that he does work like this for production. You can believe what you would like to, but I couldn't afford to do work this way in my own shop.
The only thing that I don't like is the fact that he call's it "forging" when in reality it was mostly machining that he used to make this blade. There was very, very, little forging in the making of his blade.
@@derangedmetalworks9489 I mean do you even pay attention to his business? He does commissions. What you're saying would make sense if his job was at a factory mass producing blades, but he's not. He only cares about the quality of the blades.
I love knives and swords. This is the most beautiful combination I have ever seen. Brought tears to my eyes. Rambo would have loved this beauty. I would love to own this but I know I can't afford this wonderful work of craftsmanship. At least I can say I seen it being made. Thank you dude for this heavenly video!
I was thinking the same to before ! I was like i want one sword but i can't afford a good one so i made myself one after that i made knifes a machete and another sword . Now I'm starting to make a japanese katana , you don't need all those tools to get started or a forge .

Nothing like seeing a man take a raw piece of steel and a chunk of wood and turn it into a masterpiece ! A true craftsman right there ! Not very many people like that left in the world .
GeninTengu I bet you can’t chop anything with it. It is way to heavy to be handled with two hands, but no space on the one hand handle to use it like that. It is a monster but a very unusefull monster.
12:12 and that kids, is how you make a flame sword! 20pts fire damage, 10% ignition on target. When he made the mock up, I was like...is that not a bit too thin? Minutes later: Yeah ok, thats a bit thick now.
It is a nice sword. I love the design.. but when I learned forging, iwas told that the less you have to grind the better it is. Forging makes better blades than cut out ones which are grinded to shape and then polished.
You couldn't shave your arm with that thing. It's not a knife. It's pitiful excuse for a machete. Thicker doesn't make it better. The only truth is demonstrated truth. Make an argument & remember the rule of proper proportion.
Comprano uma bigorna uma fornalha pelo menos 1 das 4 lichadeira de cinta que ele tem e assistir esse vídeo várias e várias vezes . É o que eu e um amigo meu estamos fazendo
You should make a "bastard" version of that to make it more historically accurate! (its a handle that can fit 1.5 hands on it for 1 hand controllability but long enough to enable a 2nd hand grip when needed to make more suitable for combat and blade balance)
Why wait that long? If anyone disagrees with you, criticizes you or makes you think uncomfortable thoughts, just put it through their skull! It'll be fine.
It's practically a langmesser, one of my favorite types of melee sidearms.
Я такие длинные видео не смотрю , но эту видео смотрел до конца. Безусловно у мастера золотые руки. Желаю здоровья и успехов.

Great looking blade and I am sure that it is very solid, however I find it pretty heavy and impractical!

Nice work...👍 But with that heavy, it should be two hand to use it and the longer handle would be better for comfortable.
Congratulations to the artist! This beautifull creation, is the mirror of his soul!...
Bravo-Zulu! that is the MOST AWESOME Blade I have ever SEEN!

Billhook messer, imma gonna get one
Simply AMAZING how a person can forge something from something so remote or obtuse.
Вот это шедевр 👍👍👍
That knife has a lot of mass, probably should have used a larger volume quench tank. Great work though, what are you going to do with it?
Its called a sword for a reason.
Un trabajo fantástico pero debe pesar una tonelada

How much does it weigh?
It would be great for cutting wheels of cheese! 😁
Mmmmmmmmmmm cheese...
Great work of art
That much pure steel I’m betting it weighs almost 20 lbs.....beautiful work though!!!!
It’s totally useless in the everyday life but this thing should be used for two things
1. Scare off robbers
2. Cut down trees
I love this beatfull knif !!!!!! Congradulations nice work man!!!!!

...if you can manage more than 2 swings without your arm falling off.
