Your entryway now looks fresh and loved. Other people may say the wallpaper looks dated, but I think it is timeless and lends some great character. Being easy to clean is really nice too, especially with kids in the house. Really enjoyed the furniture makeovers as well. The finished results look perfectly at home in the space.
Your entry way looks really pretty now. Lots of work, and it shows, that you can take pride in. Sorry about the leak and the major disruption to your household. But maybe in the long run it was a good thing because now the pipe replacement is done and you don’t have to worry about your kiddos as much.
Great job, Corey. The redo of your grandma's table surprised me. I didn't expect this technique to work, but you pulled it off and made it look nice. Thanks for the video.
You did such a great job on your entryway. Can't wait to see what comes next! PS I too love that wallpaper and am glad you kept it. Sometimes you just have to work with what you have. Work smarter not harder. I can't imagine what a pain it would have been to take the paper off, and you don't know what the condition of the walls would have been after removing the wallpaper...
I love the wallpaper! It's a classic design found in stately homes, and looks beautiful. Your instinct to keep it is right on. 🤗 Sorry you had the water leak, they're the worst, but all well that ends well I hope. Your baby is growing up so fast! She is so sweet. Thanks for sharing Corey, the front hall looks amazing. You're so creative. 😊👍
Oh my, the baby has grown so much! She's darling! Love the entry way. Keeping the wallpaper saved you time, money, and work. The neutral tones do not compete with your decor. Great makeovers on both furniture pieces. I like the way you see value in humble pieces. So sorry about the water damage but glad you feel better about the pipes. Hope things go smoothly now.
Holy moly! Who doesn't like an unexpected "renovation"?!!! At least you have one area of your new home decorated and one major issue dealt with! Good job Kori!
I love watching you create beauty and hearing the cheerful attitude you have! Yes, entryway first was a great idea. It's lovely, fresh and airy looking!
That wallpaper is timeless. It looks like Sanitas. It was a canvas like wall covering and easily cleaned. I don’t know if it’s made anymore. I love the staircase. It really brightened the area
I am so sorry about your flooding. You are doing a great job making your house pretty and yours. Life is a roller coaster ride for sure. The armoire is lovely. And I too like your wall paper!!❤️
The entry is beautiful. I love the armoire. The fabric turned out great. I know what you me about buy and toss. My daughter is one. I on the other hand am not. I have some antique items and the rest of the furniture was my parents and grandmother. I love every piece. And my son wants it when we are gone so I know it will live on. Thanks Cory
It's amazing how you bring your visions to life! I was amazed when you said you were trying a faux stone look with that entryway table - and it turned out just that - faux stone. Wow.
Drive some of the upper neighborhoods and you can find giveaways on the curb. And that shop piece it's better than an antique. It has true character and meaning.
What a beautiful job on everything, Cory! The 2 pieces look like they came with the house, honestly. They fit perfectly in their spaces. Ugh plumbing issues are the absolute worst. So glad that's totally behind you now. That tile looks like maybe marble? Or granite? It's really cool whatever it is. Love the entire entryway! Plus, yea, fall!
I love how it all turned out! Your grandmother’s hall tree looks great and is so special. I’ve missed your videos and hope that now you’ve gotten some major things finished in your house we will be seeing more from you!
Bless you, Corey. What a time you have been having. Your two projects turned out amazing, esp. your grandmother’s hall tree. Love using the wood putty to add texture. What a great idea!
I like that you painted the stair spindles. I like the wall paper. It looks awesome what you did with your entry way. Your furniture flips always look stunning. Looking forward to seeing more in your new home.
Corey, everything came out beautiful! I was so happy you put the baby in the video! She’s gorgeous and getting so big. Hope you and the family are doing well. You look amazing! 👍🌹
Every time I watch your videos you inspire me. Laura Ashley...love her.. entryway looks fantastic. I watched in awe of the idea you did with the wood putty. So great.. thanks for sharing.
You are such an inspiration! I always enjoy watching to see what you will come up with next. And a huge shout out for including your family! Love the backwards garland.
So sorry about the plumbing mishap, but I'm glad you made your heart happy by redoing your entryway. Beautiful upcycles! That wardrobe is fabulous and the hall tree with the story behind it melted my heart.❤
Everything looks so good Cory! You are so good at thrifting and making everything look expensive! Loved seeing your little girl…she’s really growing! 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Corie, I love how you redone your entry it's gorgeous the amour and hall tree look perfect in this spot ,love that you kept the wall paper its really nice the colours you went with just go beautifully together, I love seeing how your fixing up your new home and look forward to seeing what ro9m you do next, I love the autumn decor very pretty and the kids spooky decor too bless their hearts and little Aroura has grown so much and so much hair, chubby little cherub she's gorgeous, thanks for sharing this take care all the best Mary in Australia 🌻😊
It is awesome to see what minimal materials and lots of hard work can accomplish! The entry looks lovely! We don’t need brand new or expensive things to have a beautiful home! ❤❤❤
I love how your entry turned out. Great idea to grout over existing. I've seen people remove old grout - tedious & messy. Baby girl is a cutie pie! Take care & hope the construction is almost over.
So happy to see you back. I have not been able to get to the chairs l had offered you before you moved. But hopefully things will calm down more soon. My Mother passed away on Sept 16th at the age of 93. And as you know Arizona heat is horrible. Now that fall has gotten here l hope to try my hand on those chairs.
Beautiful job! We sometimes don't think about what difference a little thing can make like the grout. I know flippers get tired of hearing it but my heart broke when I saw you painting the armoire! It was such beautiful solid wood. Anyway I don't mind the fake wood or when something in pretty bad shape and the hall tree looks really cute and love your decor. And your little girl is such a doll! Sorry about your plumbing problem. I know that was devastating when you're trying to redo your home and a major expenditure comes up. Keep up the good work!
I am glad you decided to keep the wallpaper, cause I like it very much! It`s classic and has almost a coastal feel to it. Your furniture transformation adds right to this feeling. Very well done! Maybe you can find a rug for that area - well, that is what I would do....to complete the theme. Love the fall and halloween decoration!🤩...And I understand the impulse to decorate or renovate one area while another one is a mess - completely!!!👍
Corey love how you revamped and restored the pieces of furniture. I used Rustolien frosted glass frosted spray paint . I would make the side windows on the side of the front door. I did it and it came out really good.
Another option on the armoire; it looks to me like it was antique originally, but has had a huge repair using whatever was to hand. Also, the way some of it fit together made me think it may have been a veneered piece originally, later painted, and had at a later date, been dipped in a caustic bath to strip back to pine. I've had a few like this when an antique dealer. Sometimes they came out of the bath flatpacked as it was only layers of paint or veneer holding it together, and often with woodworm damage to underside. Usually eastern European pieces.
I guess anything is possible, but the entire inside of the piece, all of the panels from the bottom to the top were not old. the only thing that could have been antique would be the frame around the doors and the top molding.
Your closet thing and hall tree both look great. I love furniture or even nik naks that remind you of someone or something great, even if they aren't new or expensive. That, to me makes a home. I love "treasure hunting" and can go around my house and say I remember the nice person I bought this from or even the flea market I got something from.
FYI (as most don’t seem to know this), there is supposed to a clean out plug beside your inside ac unit. Once a month, pour some bleach in it. It will keep your unit drain from clogging. Love the paper. It’s coming back in style Including that pattern. Great job on the grout. ❤
I think the wallpaper is just fine and goes especially with the floor. I think its appropriate for your house. I have it in my entry and bathrooms. I bet yours was built in the early 70's.
Stripped screw holes are easy to fix even in fake wood. Coat wooden toothpicks with wood glue cram several in the hole and break off any part sticking out, wait till in dries and put the screw back in. Works like a charm!
Welcome to Texas! When I was about 10, we moved from Albuquerque to Houston. We all felt like we were breathing water because of the high humidity. Hope your family acclimates quickly and comes to love it like we do.
I like the wallpaper it's calming pale blues very pleasant not in your face tacky I'm glad you are keeping it . Sorry about the water damage but your entryway looks beautiful
So glad to see you back your entry way looks great, I love the way you appreciate special meaningful pieces of furniture memories are sometimes all we have left, the storage unit look fantastic well done it's a really useful piece. Lovely seeing a glimpse of your little lady she's getting big and your new home looks amazing 👏🏼👏🏼💞💞
Well done. Moving is so stressful and then decorating on a budget. ,!!! Your makeovers are great and may have inspired me to look at my hallway. Look forward to your next video!!
Having grown up in Houston rain is both a blessing and a curse! Because of humidity and heat, you can’t store stuff outside or in garages like you can in other locations! Good fortune in y’all’s new home!
I don't even know where to start. You are so talented and creative. The handles on the panel of the armoire is a small thing but such a wow. Great job. Sorry about the water damage. My grandma just got an estimate to replace the pipes in her house that's a lot smaller than yours and it was insane expensive.
You probably already know this but one trick I've used when trying to rescrew into MDF is I take a small dowel rod or skewer and wood glue it in the hole. Sometimes I have to drill the hole out a little bigger to fit the rod in. After it's dry you can drill a new hole and the the screw goes in perfect.
Everything looks great and I love what you did with your grandmother's piece. I know what a headache that damage was. The same happened in my mother's house. The condensation pan leaked over and ran down the wall which it damaged the wall at the entrance to her bedroom, all the way to the front closet in her living room which is near her bedroom, weird I know. She had to replace the wood planks in her bedroom because they warped. She used this as an excuse to retile her master bath and front bathroom, they're connected to a faux grey wood tile. The previous tile was slippery and dangerous especially since she is a fall risk and...I slipped once and cracked my elbow, ouch. Many blessings to you and your family and welcome to Houston. ❤
I love the wallpaper as well. I’m sure it’s great quality because it’s been there for so long. I’ve become disappointed in new items that don’t last very long. Additionally, I am a fan of Laura Ashley. I loved the video. ❤
I believe your tile is terrazzo tile. it is bits of granite or marble or other rock held together with an epoxy resin. I think it was popular in the 70's because the new home we moved into, also in Houston, in 1970, my parents chose a terrazzo tile for the entryway and also in the sunken bathtub. Ours used a green resin which, before, i thought was ugly, but now appreciate. Yours is a beautiful white. Welcome to Houston!
Houston home town. Yes the white on the spindles brighter, good choice. Very beautiful ! Glad got through that life bum . .. they are a pain. But praise the Lord He provides and sends the right people to help. Really enjoy watching you creat always inspired to go out a try something my self.
First time watching. You did a phenomenal job and your hard work paid off! Hope you enjoy living in Texas. It took me awhile to get used to living in Florida, but I don't miss NY anymore! Happy Fall!!🎃
fixing screw holes in fake wood. 1. Remove the screw. 2. Drill the hole bigger, in fact big enough to fit a piece of wooden dowel in that you have pre-cut to length and smeared wood glue on. It's basically the same solution as fixing loose screws on door hinges. 3. You may need to pre-drill a smaller hole in the dowel for the screw.
Hi Corie, I'm so glad you listened to your instincts and kept the blue and cream wallpaper. It looks so good with the fresh paint and newly redone furniture in your entryway. A question about the floor though: are the dark marks on the floor part of the tile pattern? From how they look onscreen I thought they were stains or spills of some kind but I saw when you washed the floor that none of the marks changed at all?
We have similar tile. It's a stone aggregate. From time to time the hubby gets out the buffer to shine it up. Basically, steel wool polishes it up nicely.
I agree with the audience, I would change the wall paper. I know it's durable but it's very boring. I would also change the front door. It's to modern. Your furniture selections are spot on I know you would find the right door, a vintage all wood door would make your entry pop.

It's wonderful that you have a piece of your Grandmother's. What sweet memories you have of her.

Entryway looks fantastic. Wood Putty for texture... brilliant idea. What a beautiful transformation with Armoire n the Hall Tree.

You are so awesome I could watch you all day long. You are just a true artist.
Thank you so much Caroline that is a wonderful compliment
Very lovely transformation. Your entry looks ready for the season.🌸
Thank you Deborah
Hi Corie, I'm so glad you listened to your instincts and kept the blue and cream wallpaper. It looks so good with the fresh paint and newly redone furniture in your entryway. A question about the floor though: are the dark marks on the floor part of the tile pattern? From how they look onscreen I thought they were stains or spills of some kind but I saw when you washed the floor that none of the marks changed at all?
Thank you Heather! Yes the dark spots are part of the stone
Love your grandma tree table how it came out!!!!!
Love that you used your grandma’s furniture piece!
Thank you Nikki. My grandma was and still is very important to me
@@DesertDIY you’re welcome ☺️ my grandma was very important to me also, one of the most influential people in my life.
Beautiful!
We have similar tile. It's a stone aggregate. From time to time the hubby gets out the buffer to shine it up. Basically, steel wool polishes it up nicely.
Thank you! Very good tip!
I agree with the audience, I would change the wall paper. I know it's durable but it's very boring. I would also change the front door. It's to modern. Your furniture selections are spot on I know you would find the right door, a vintage all wood door would make your entry pop.
Thank you for the ideas
LOVE your videos, I'm amazed at what you do
Wow Brenda thank you so much
The wallpaper looks blue to start with at the end it looks green love it xxx
Interesting!
You’re a really neat painter. I would have had paint everywhere, on me and the floor. Good job.
Haha thats very common. I just have more practice
@@DesertDIY not really. I’m 71, been painting a looooong time. I’m just a messy painter.
