THANKS SO MUCH FOR WATCHING!
Glad this pop up again. Good tips if needed. Thanks.
Hope you all enjoy! :)
Are the colors technically true colors, or are they just an interpretation of colors? What I mean is, is the red gel truly red or just made to look red? I’d like to know because I just bought a large pack of color gels for color correction. It would be pointless for me to devote too much time to being too precise if the gels are not truly accurate colors but just approximations.
Good refresher course on lighting. It good to see Emily again. Thanks for the course.
well presented and succinctly too. Thanks.
Once again - your energy, creativity, and technical expertise are inspiring! Thanks!
I always learn something from Emily’s videos. Thank you!
whaouuuuuu !!! so fresh, perfect explain & good result !!good job👌
Enjoyed this - I will try these out the next time I want a more deliberately controlled background colour!
I really have to play with more gels. These look great Emily. I also need to really dive deep into colour theory.
Thanks, Emily. This was helpful!
Thanks so much for this tutorial. I have used gels recently and in the past. Extreme learning curve. Could find no one that emphasized the necessity for a STRONG light to show their color effects. I tried LED lights...nope! Too weak! I tried flash on low setting-nope, too weak! I found I had to use at least a 200 watt (Ad200 strobe) or higher for gels to show effect and playing with power settings to balance key light or ambient. Have you been able to use LED lights successfully on effects gels? Thanks, Huie (California)
Love the red gel set up!
I quite enjoy your work Emily, and as a hairstylist/pro-am photographer, although it will most likely not happen, to have you in the viewfinder creating some art would be all kinds of fantastic 🙏📸
Thanks, your tutorial helped de-complexify :) gels
I've played with gels before and didn't have the success I was hoping for. The use of the V-Flat as a flag is such a simple concept and one that I have used with other lighting. I don't have a clue as to why I haven't used it before with gels. Thanks for sharing! Stay tuned...
Thank you Emily,
Enjoyable succinct and very informative.
Thank you for so easy way of explaining ❤
Hey ! Thanks for your work, I am just starting to get into photography and everything is very clear in you explanations. Thanks for opening my eyes !
A video about how to take great pictures with a phone (iPhone in my case) would be very interesting to me !
I wish you luck and strength in your work
Hello Emily,
Thanks for creating this video. I guess, we can create a moonlight effect using one of the blue gels.
Thanks
My living room/ home studio is really narrow, I’d technically be able to use a grid in my soft boxes to achieve a similar flagging/ directional effect right? I’m wanting to start playing with gels this year 😁
Wait, you said when you where 17 years old? I thought that you are 17 now with what I see. I love the sillouete shaping of the model in the end with the gels, it gives a retrospective of human body anatomy study with a red twist in it
good on photography (gels)
How do you gel inside of a softbox? Any particular suggestions?
Hi, how do you attach the gel in the softbox? How big are your gel pieces?
Idk why I’m here but FIRST! Update :I’m not first anymore🤓
Rather than use the giant reflectors, couldn’t you just feather the gel lighting in the direction of the camera away from the background?
