Thanks Gavin! These are (of course) great ideas. Their value lies in the inspiration, not necessarily your specific suggestions. Your point is clear, step out of the "normal" box. I'll apply your lesson!
Gavin, I do like your videos because you are very creative. You show us that we can do so much with little means. I enjoy following you since the very beginning of your first channel "Gavtrain" ;)
Gavin, I don't know how you do it man, but you make this all look so easy. I'm so nervous about doing studio portraits and failing at it that it paralyzed me from doing it. Then I watch your videos and you show how simple it is and I get inspired to at least try. Thank you for all the great work that you do.
@@tumblingrosesstudio Or a new model who is just starting out themselves and it's explained to them that you are new too and they'll be more patient when they aren't being charged for portfolio shots.
I thought that was absolutely brilliant Gavin,,, Just goes to show stay with basic equipment and a basic idea you get fantastic shots,,, Loved it,,, More like that please',,,
Your creative thinking is inspiring! Using simple things in simple ways to achieve good stuff. Makes me think what I have at home I could throw in next time I shoot. Thanks for these videos! Never stop making them 😅
Thanks for the various ideas. Great for future shoots. Must try the over-head strip box again; it can be very dramatic, as you and Sophie have shown. Did like the small shadow on Sophie from the flooring - really gave depth to the image. The silver/metallic tutu was brilliant in terms of colour/texture. As always, well done to everyone !
Gavin, your videos are always fun and educational. I always learn something new. This time, I'd like to ask about your tethering setup with a tablet. Could you share more about it?
I love the result you have on Sophie about 3:45, moving the temperature a bit to the left. To my eyes it is just stunning. However, her face still seems quite warm, compared to the bluish background. Did you mask her face to keep off some of the cooler temperature, or is it an optical illusion that her skin still seems warm?
Beautiful, as always! Question: Sophie seemed to be close to the white wall background and I'm surprised that even at 1/250th shutter speed the wall was so gray and sometimes black. How far was she from the background so that the spill can be kept at a minimum???
waiting every video, and every time my passion for photography increases from your easy and wonderful teaching, and I look forward to trying these lessons that develop my skills in photography, especially the art of portraiture. Thank you, Mr. Gavin ❤
Love all your videos, Gavin - informative and fun to watch too. Just curious - what is the tablet and stand that you have the camera tethered to? I'll looking at tethering a screen but don't want to use my big macbook.
love all the videos Gavin, i know all your gear listed is go to Adorama but when you go there they don't ship to the UK ? or do they ship under another name ? cheers Kevin
Gavin is such a joy to watch and listen to.
In another life, Gavin was a comedy TV actor. Really love your energy in all of your videos and they're always easy to understand!
very informative 10mins on portrait photography Thanks Gavin.
Thanks John 👍
Gavin's creative enthusiasm is always refreshing!
REALLY liked the ruffles. Perfect texture for that photo.
Gavin I wished your videos were more than once a month I learn so much from you appreciate everything you do!
Wow, what an excellent result with so little equipment. This is what I always teach my students...
Little is More!
Hi Victor. I find more is usually more but also sometimes the more I have the slower I move 😉
Nice Gavin, as always.
WOW I truly enjoyed this video! VERY creative and doable! Thank you Gavin

Giorgio
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the inspiration Gavin Hoey!
Great stuff!
As my models are not professionals, Having some ideas to spice up a bit the shooting is more than welcome. Thanks Gav!
Enjoyed the video...Gavin is great at what he does and keeps everything simple and understandable.
I learned creative lighting techniques, and I love this "subscribe" sign popping up, very creative.
Brilliant as always, I wouldn't have thought of using two children's tutus as a ruff 😀
It's a fine line between genius and ridiculous Beverley but it's nice to be on the right side every so often 😁
Making the art of lighting less mysterious, many thanks 🙏
Could you record a video showing how to use the photometer? How can you make better photos when you use it? Please
Gavin , i love it 👏👏👏
Very glad to see you again.
Amazing tips, Thanks so much
Really good ideas.
This man is such excelent Master in photography and great explain everything 🤩😊 and Sophie is one of the most beautiful women i ever saw!!!

Thank you for all the great work that you do.
I fail all the time, in fact that genius idea I thought I had rarely ever looks exactly how I planned. Try, fail, adjust, repeat 😉
Start with a model that's friendly like a sibling or parent!!

Random things used out of context can sometimes work surprisingly well Zoltán 😉😉
Always creative, always entertaining. Another top tutorial Gavin 👍
Awesome results with thinking outside the box Thank you!
Fabulous, quick, great learning
Excellent video! Great, simple set-ups and loved the idea of the child's tutu as a ruff! And Sophie doesn't take a bad photo, either!
This is stunning. What a learning!
Another great one! Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks Alan. The best bit (for me) was me handing a tutu to Sophie and her not think I was crazy 😉

Hi Gavin. love the videos and shots. can you tell me what the external monitor set up is you are using please. Thanks
Gavin. I’ve watched a couple videos of you with Sophi. I wouldn’t play basketball against her if I were you. Great video.
Hoping to find out what focal length is used. I want to try this shoot, but not sure if I should go short or long on the lens...
Spot on yet again.can I ask can you buy those strip boxes in the UK rather than import from the US.
Great Video
amazing ... thanks ❣❣❣💯💯
