- "Heat" is a 1995 American crime drama film written and directed by Michael Mann. It features an ensemble cast led by Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, with Tom Sizemore, Jon Voight, and Val Kilmer in supporting roles. The film follows the conflict between an LAPD detective, played by Pacino, and a career thief, played by De Niro, while also depicting its effect on their professional relationships and personal lives.
This movie was an inspiration of "Payday: The Heist" and "Payday 2", mostly it's atmosphere, music and shootouts. This time, I edited it's famous shootout scene with "Gun Metal Grey" from Payday: The Heist (GMG was also inspired from "Force Marker" from this shootout scene)

In the vault it appears to have weight, but later in the scene, when they're running through the streets with the bags slung over their shoulders, the cash appears lighter.

This movie was the inspiration not to one but two heists in Payday, the second being The Heat Street.
First World Bank kinda made sense, Heat Street they really had to TRY in order to make a street shootout mission like the movie, but glad they pulled it off
And then you have both GenSec truck heists,divided from the same scene from HEAT
The third one is Gotham Bank in The Dark Knight
Slaughterhouse is also inspired by Heat (the ambush is basically the same as in the movie)

As tense and epic the original scene is without any background music and just the gunfire, Gun Metal Grey adds a new kind of vibe to this shootout - the drums really emphasize the intensity of the action
The Original Scene Has Brian Eno's Force Marker For The Score, I Don't Know Why They've Changed It.

It’s because this movie was the inspiration for the game “Payday: The Heist”, and two of the heists in it are inspired by (these) scenes from the movie. So the uploader thought they’d do a funny little edit here and add the music from one of the game’s heists for this moment.

So they do the heist in stealth, then trigger an alarm on the exit, after which the getaway fails.

That is not what actually happened they were alerted by a phone call but it wasn’t in regards to the heist that was happening, it was Hanna connecting the dots
That didn’t happen tho. They drilled into the system the night before, and reprogrammed the system to turn off the computers and alarm system before they came into the bank. What happened was they were tipped off by a traitor that was with the crew before.

i always heard bank robbery 101 is that you don't physically harm anyone unless you absolutely have to ie. they're trying to be heroes / interfering with the robbery, etc. verbal is o.k. but physical brings too much unwanted attention on top of the attention the robbery itself is already getting.
If I am correct, according to information, the actors were tasked with planning the heist, also had training from an ex SAS soldier. Also the US Marines use the street shoot out as required watch and learn training for new USMC recruits.
It still is the best shootout scene in movies, to date

Michael Mann’s masterpiece. Several years earlier he made Heat as LA Takedown with B actors. In between, he refined the script. The A list cast tells us how tight the script was

Tbf the ost of the game here is referenced from the same ost in the scene of the movie, hence why the opening sounds super similar.
Kilmar was a badass in this scene.
The one thing that's always bothered me is how fast the cops get there. They are in their office while this is going down then somehow arrive right as they see leaving. Makes no sense.

Movie came out before the N Hollywood shootout interesting.
Robbers were directly inspired by it and even made homemade body armor that could resist .556 essentially lvl 6 armor in Tarkov. Only thing that caught them was by luck ie a police car going by. In that case, The only reason the shootout ended was because They got the last guy in his legs because they couldn't kill him lol (died of blood loss) and first guy offed himself after his AK jammed (he couldn't clear it because his thumb was wounded) tho in that case casualties were light (the only 2 who died were the robbers) because the robbers used AP ammo and not HP and weren't aiming.
