I mean, I spent nearly 9k on the sim set-up not including my pc or games. at 150$ cdn bucks i think its pretty cool. They should come longer and cut to fit so that they fit a wider variety of sizes of screens.
Elo Karl, Just wanted to give you a lil shout out.. i like your no bs content, it seems like you have practical and honest opinions. I'm looking at upgrade options for my "rig" at the moment and your content has been more than useful... cheers mate :D
I just finish a week tweaking the settings of a bass-shaker under my pedal, for abs, wheel block and slip with simhub, and I reached a world top15 best laptime within 10 trials, ignoring the track and the car, 3 seconds from the WR in PC2, with a McLaren on the Sugo Track. Combining tinkering with improvement of performance, not only best lap, also persistence, feels like a real racing engineer and a driver in the same person, lol
@@dirtyjerz32 I'm still tweaking, after the mods inside, I've just fixed two external metal angle plates (facing down) with the screws on the TH8A shifter, attached 2 elastic short bicycle band from the bottom of the plates to the stick, to fix the weak lateral force to return the stick to a neutral left/right position, which resolved the problem of wrong shifting with the TH8A. No Mod exists to fix this issue. As a result, I'm now always faster with manual H shifting with a clutch than with automatic sequential. Again Tweaking to improve performance. I'm still testing some cheap reflecting tapes on cheap and light styropor angle pads, to hide the bezels, not perfect, but for less than 10€, I now realize I completely forgot the bezels, even in open cars like Karting. no Performance gain, however...
Thanks for the video, Karl! 💪 I’m in full setup mode reg. my bezel free kit this weekend and your videos helped keeping my sanity! 😂 I really like to tinker with that kinda stuff too, it’s a huge part of my beloved hobby. You keep it up and stay safe! 👋
Thanks alot Karl for that great video(s). I was still thinking of getting them but the thing with the content creator got me, got triple AOC´s 32 inch 1500R curved and I think I will stay with the minimal bezel (for now) :D Have a nice one...
VR was never my main way to race as I get motion sick after about 45mins :( If something worth looking at comes out then I'll get it, the recent releases are all lacking in something critical or way too expensive for me (Varjo for example).
Totally the same for me, i love the tech and tinkering just as much as the actual usage...if you'd like a new tech and tinkering project, with amazing result, try building a virtual pinball machine, you can make it as realistic as the real thing ad then some, with fans, a shaker, lights etc. and since you have people over to play with it's great fun playing in multiplayer...
I've been meaning to build one for years but just haven't had the time! I think i'll probably end up buying one from ua-cam.com/users/XtremeGamingCabinets as they look incredibly well made but are not cheap... 50th birthday treat to myself maybe?! :)
Excellent videos Karl, learning a lot. Recently switched to triple monitors (Asus VG32VQ1B). I’m completely satisfied without the bezel free strips, barely notice mine while racing, they’re so small anyway. But with 32” being the seemingly go to size wouldn’t you think Asus would consider making 32” sizes? Especially for their 1500r & 1800r monitors? Again, love the content!
I do wish I had seen this video first. They're okay, not wow like I expected. They'll stay on for the simple fact, they weren't cheap. If I was a streamer, I could see them being handy as they do look great on camera.
I am totally with you on the draw to sim racing being (partly at least) the technology and the fact that we are at the point where regular Karls and MurrMaans can put this altogether at home for a doable price! Deal hunting as well is another bonus to this hobby. Its a shame the Bezel kits are currently overpriced (200ish) for 2 short strips but with all the pros to being abke to race cars in your living room, there are cons. Cheers~
Hi Karl! Your setup just tipped me over. I currently have 32" tripples, but are getting the LG C1 55" tripples this upcoming week (also have the 3080 GPU). Just wondering how you fitted 2 sets of these bezel free kits? Any glue or tape where the edge between the two parts on each side?
I used a piece of cotton with a knot in the end then pulled it back through the tiny gap between the two screens to keep it tight and hold the top/bottom of the kits in place sat on top of one another... if that makes sense?! lol
Hi Karl! I've been following your videos for a few months now, and you were responsible for me abandoning my 34-inch screens for the c1 55! I'd like to thank you! I didn't understand very well, how did you put together 2 bezel free kit kits! you say you overlapped it? one kit over the other? there is no junction in the middle of the kits? Can you help me? I have two free bezel kits, and I wouldn't want to screw up testing something that doesn't work! I thought about using the 3m magic tape, but it seems much better what you did
Hi Karl I have noticed that there are no reviews as far as I can see on the new Sim-lab WS-pro, and I was wondering if you have seen it? You could be the first youtuber to make a review, and I don't know about others, but I would be interested in a review.
i hated them at first because couldn't aligned them soo i took them off and couple days pass by and i was looking at fb post how ppl were loving them and i was like let me give it another shot, putting them on again and turn out that i had my monitor size wrong.. i own 32 in monitor so my widths is 28 in with the bezel. so i put that in to iracing and 28in with with bezel and with out bezel i put 28.5 and what do u know it was perfect. now i cant live with out them..
Cool, was planing on them, but not to sure now, need 2 kits for 32s, and I don't like having the fencing, curbs, missed aligned, my brain almost takes the black bezels, as just another bar from the roll cages, reminds of my none retired days from racing
You could get away with a single kit for 32 inch if you use a different method of mounting them. There are videos on UA-cam which can help you with this.
Hi Karl. Have you got the RSR-21 on the list to review? There's very few reviews on UA-cam, certainly none as thorough as your reviews tend to be. Great work, keep it up!
It's kinda cool, but the cost is ridiculous. You can get the same type of lens, I believe (Fresnel lens?), for the back of a motorhome, which is roughly 30cm x 20 cm, for around $15 US. These are a novel idea and they do have the clips on the ends, but I probably wouldn't pay more than maybe $40 US for a set.
If I already had them I would use them. But as a cost Vs benefit thing I probably wouldn't. But saying that if I had the set-up on the level of yours or Will's I probably would.
If you get to the point you stop seeing the bezel surely you get to that point faster without them? But yeah great from a content side. Is that PC2 or ACC?
Lol mee too buddy. Love the tech and don't bother for online races. Don't need to proof anything lol. As bazel free kit, i love mine on 32inch curved monitors. Won't go back. I also have vr but then again I'll miss to see all the tech i have 😆
I’m about to switch from VR to triples….these look cool on UA-cam, but everyone seems to not love them in person. The bezels on my LG 27GP850 is fairly small. Everyone says you can’t see them after a while anyways. Thanks for your comment, I’m gonna hold off until a gen 2 design or they are about half the price.
Honestly Karl, for me watching they are alot better, but I do agree about the cost, which is 😲 my driving isn't any better, but that's because I've usually got a cat sitting in front or walking in front of the TV 🤣🐈 that's my excuse anyway 😉

The one thing that pleased me the most is I think I can beat your lap times when you are chatting away not looking where you are going.
we don't follow you for your driving technique but because when I can't find something on simracing you are an absolute reference thank you very much

2 hours of tweaking 15 mins of racing is my every day and night. I just got the bezel kit a month ago and haven’t stopped tweaking and adjusting.

can you tell us the string method to keep them on without using tape?
I'm the same, they are good but very hard to just get right and looking good
Hi Karl

they went up in price in uk to £160, and all reviews seem to agree to them being ok-ish, id give it a shot at £50

They're discontinued so they're like blocks of gold now :/ I bet Asus owns some patent for them preventing anyone else producing them as well
They actually do yes :(

Sounds like tackle tart bait to me. Though for content creators it is aesthetically much better
