I always thought these were just animated figures that are going for accuracy over articulation. The price is very high for basically a statue with some articulation and there are some great alternatives on the market that I think will impact the success of this range.
The lower body is practically immobile. I wish Super7 would ditch this outdated articulation scheme.

If the R.E.D. series would’ve had this size, it would’ve been perfect G1 accurate figures. Oh well 🤷🏻♂️
In some ways the articulation is worse than the Reaction version of the figure! Makes a bit of a mockery of the "Ultimates" title.....
This thing sucks! It's the worst S7 fig I have by a large margin. In addition to trash articulation, mine is loose as hell. It's a literal bobble head as there is zero friction on the head/neck and his head just flops over in any direction you lean the figure. This junk isn't half of what it costs, so disappointed! Oh mine also came with 2 left legs, lol! This is a $55 figure, what a joke!
I have no idea why Super 7 is still in business. They make the worst figures out there. Yolopark has shown how to do this and at a cheaper price.
never heard of them
@@hardnine check them out, they are doing what Super 7 should have done.
White hot garbage
There’s literally nothing to vaguely like with these TF Ultimates imo. Even the deliberately basic sculpts seem waaaaaay off to my eye. Like the G1 cartoon was stuck through the bubble-gum-iser… really disappointing all round.
The MP Megatron, though much pricier and a pretty different concept, just does accuracy and overall excellence so much better.
It’s a real shame, I’m a big S7 fan and really want to be behind more of their recent output, but it does seem whoever is behind the quality control for these, we’ll, something needs a rethink :(
They’re trying way too hard to be retro with that awful articulation. Their 4 inch figures are even worse and are 20 dollars each.
Super 7 is trash! You're videos are good though!
I'm a fan of Super7 and Transformers and non-transforming Transformers but these have too many issues for me. Particularly when the transforming figures are now very animation accurate and much, much more articulated.
I'd HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend you get the Yolopark Optimus and Megatron and compare it to these.
It's extremely close in price. ($50 plus $12 shipping, I think?) The size is nearly identical. It has LED eyes and a lot more articulation. They're partly diecast and licensed and based loosely on the Masterpiece figures, downsized and with more articulation and paint detail.
Don't be confused by them being called "model kits". That's a licensing thing. They're mostly preassembled and you have to basically just plug in the arms, thighs, and a few pieces like a Marvel Legends Build-a-Figure.
I REALLY think at least getting Optimus and Megatron to do comparisons would be STARK because it would illustrate some of Super7's hangups and problems with robots particularly, especially being almost the same size and price and made in China and licensed and going for, essentially, a "realistic" take on the cartoon. It's the most 1:1 comparison anybody could do.
Megatron just came out. Optimus is a few months away.
Oh. And it's nontransforming, 8" tall roughly, has three faces, an articulated mace, sword, pistol, and battle damaged breastplate so the accessory loadout is ALSO fairly comparable.
The articulation on this figure is anything, but Ultimate. It's a shame that Super 7 can't see that the poor quality they put out is costing them customers that could help keep their lines going.
Corners have to be cut in order to afford the IP's though. They're not cheap.

I love Super7, but think Transformers is their weakest Ultimates line 😢
At this point just get the MDLX
Yup. They cost a little more, but they're knocking it out of the park. Best non-transforming Transformers figures ever.
the point behind this line is toon acurate MDLX is a remix and in my opion just look dam ugly
Excellent review btw
But, wow, I had no idea just how lame this was. I assumed if nothing else this massive non-transforming figure would have better articulation than your average Transformer toy, but it's WAY worse, and that's inexcusable imo. The R.E.D. figure, for that line's faults, is WAY better than this on all fronts.
9:45, 10:39 & 13:39 aren't those for him drinking energon? Unfortunately, the lack of pose ability, in particular arm articulation, doesn't allow him to bring it to his face in an actual drinking pose.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I like most of what Super 7 puts out, but this guy frustrates me. There should be a swivel above the red part on his arms. The chest panel is unnecessary; the decal looks cheap and it affects the chest plate negatively. It's like sunken in or warped because the plastic is too thin, and it's discolored. I don't care so much about the leg articulation. I don't think anyone really expects Megatron to get into breakdancing poses. But the sprue scar being in the front of the ankle is maddening (you can see it in this video; right above the dark gray stripe on his left foot). It should be on the back. But overall I still like the aesthetic of the figure.
i dunno WHY TF collectors should buy this S7 line. It doesnt make sense, they look boring af cause they are like statues with 80s articulation.
Was hoping this would look good with my other Transformers. The Hasbro Red one was just to small to scale with the Generations stuff.
Unfortunately this looks like a pass due to articulation. Hasbro actually did it better in my opinion. Very disappointed.
Will try the Yolopark model kit that’s is a bit taller then this and actually has diecast.

It's crazy that something like Goldar is SO articulated and his skirt armor and shoulder armor doesn't get in the way, but they can't figure out Megatron's friggin' legs. Overall, I love what they are trying to do, but they have GOT to put more work into design if they want to keep this up at these prices.
Good review, I just don't get what they are doing with their Transformers line. They seem to have just given up on them. I really wanted to get behind these and they don't
I'd rather buy the AMK PRO Series Megatron. It might be $20 more but it has way better quality.
Agh clearance pick up I guess
Disappointing. It's a good looking figure but those legs are not good. Megatron deserves better.
Oof. Most Megatrons that transform have better RoM.
Honestly think the RED Megatron does the job better for a lot less money.
Ouch
I had high hope for super7 figures but after tmnt wave 2.
I just stop collecting anything that comes from them. I have Prime but he isn’t fun to pose and feels cheap . And the TMNT figures’s legs are super loose and they are hard to stand now. And super7 prices went up. They aren’t worth the money
Having weapons and no hand to hold them is bulls**t
wow, this sucks!
Looks like crap

How deeply is Hasbro involved?
Hasbro can't make figures any more. Whatever has infected Hasbro is spreading.
It’s so frustrating collecting Super7. They make the figures we want…. But the end product most always is disappointing…
How is Megatron going to be able to sit down on his throne or in the command chair of Decepticon warships?
Most of the time we display figures standing up, but sometimes they do sit down.
Good review of a very bad figure. In a neutral stance it looks very cartoon accurate but as a toy its terrible! I like what S7 is doing but the execution on their Ultimates is hit or miss. Its hard to explain why?
The chemical flask might be from the episode about cosmic rust.
Perceptor created an anti-rust formula.
Does anyone buy these?
yes i get them all on clearnce and love everyone
i dont know for me theses are all i ever wanted.. transformers that look identical to the toon for me to put on a shelf and thats it
Wow a transformer that doesn't transform!!! It's just a action figure. Not for me.
