He missed the beautiful infinite combo he had, when all for one and hologram were both 0 cost from madness. But he rebounds the hologram on top of the deck, I was mad.
to be fair, nemisis had intangible up, and I don't think nl would have sat there and cycled the infinite 100+ times. not that nl even noticed the combo lol

He probably meant to say he can get 30 block for 1 energy but his brain farted.
He said "you get one block" because it exhausts, so you only get to use it once. And you block 30 damage.
The only archetype NL is committed to is the misplays archetype... Love your content nonetheless !

NL, you're getting complacent again. Try to diversify your runs or you won't be able to adjust when RNG forces you into an archetype you don't know how to play. Also, some Ironclad runs might be nice at some point. I think everyone's forgotten he exists.
He is not aware of the existance of other archetypes, though. Everything except for the one main archetype he is focusing on is "garbage cards that nobody would ever use". He probably hasn't even read what most of those cards he doesn't use do, let alone tried them, and he won't for another hundred episodes.
After 183 episodes I would think Runic dome would be the choice on the 1st boss, but that's just me. I've become so familiar with enemy patterns I always have a good idea what they are going to do.
Well have you seen his 1676 episode of Isaac ? He missed tinted rock .
Its good for the ironclad where you just do enough damage to 1 shot each enemy with the extra energy but i feel the defect isnt that strong so you gotta see whats coming to get the most out of each turn
It's funny that sometimes you get a Defect run where everything is working like clockwork... and you don't quite know how you did it.
Apparently, a switch has flipped in his brain and now all powers apart from self-repair and echo form are bad and the only way he can win is with all for one and zero cost cards. Its frustrating to see his all or nothing mindset in this game and his total disregard for cards and playstyles he's never tried
Right? I want him to do an orb build or a power build, which can just be insane.

I find it interesting how NLs audience game to game is very different. That being said the Slay the Spire audience is really harsh and up tight.
It's mostly because of the heavy misplays that he doesn't learn from.
I don't even play the game that much and I still get triggered by his blatant misplays and absolute blindness to anything that's happening.
Oh and he's got that "man this is bad" thing going on for things that clearly aren't bad, but that he's just too stupid/lazy to understand and sometimes it just seems like he tries to rush for the finish line.
With Calipers from the get go I would've tried to focus a bit more on frost orbs and blizzard I think.
instead of holoing back axe kick all the time.. if you did that for CLAW... it'd be out damaging axe kick BY FAR

playing reinforce body twice with echoform gives you the same amount of block for each. So 3x energy twice. Next time you run into that situation. You had plenty of block for 3rd turn champion fight.

To be honest, your adherence to one single type of run in these videos is frustrating. In both Dead Cells and Slay the Spire, you do the same archetypes over and over again with essentially the same commentary and just hope it works, all while assuming that the items and cards you haven't ever actually tried to use are complete garbage. If you experimented more or listened to other players or commenters, it would be much more enjoyable in my opinion. I still love your streams and content, but I wish you would slow down and try to give each run in these games at least a slight bit of experimental consideration like you do in Wizard of Legend.
Imagine in WoL he actually kept his first arcana for an entire series and never took anything.

I can't stand watching him build the same run every time around a card he doesn't even have and may never get. There are several other archetypes Defect has and he never even entertains the idea of playing it that way.

E X A C T L Y ! ! ! He succeeds once with one build and assumes that everything else outside of it is bad despite everyone else playing with various decks. It's the same with Dead Cells. Anything that isn't purple is bad. It's like he doesn't even consider the fact that the games have options for a reason.

Hey NL, just wanted to let you know-you aren't as bad as everyone is saying you make misplays just like any person and your commentary is what makes your videos shine.
Mod C&S he is at least as bad at the game as people tell him. That doesn't mean the videos aren't enjoyable though, since you certainly don't watch NL for the gameplay.
