    I love the way the future and past meet in China. The xiao mian restaurant is reminiscent of the past with the giant sauce bowls and eating on the street,, and yet you pay the restaurant digitally through your phone. It's so cool to see!

    So great to see you in Chongqing - the world's (not just China's) greatest city. It was cyberpunk when I was last there in 2015, and still doesn't disappoint by the look of it. Brought back lots of memories, but it never changes because it is always changing. Hope that I can get back one day. I can't wait for the next instalment - stay safe.

    I had a noodle dish served in a carton at food street in Chongqing about 3 years ago. It was so tasty and I've often wondered what it was. Perhaps it was xiao mian. Good video.

Wish to go back very much....I never felt more at home, less judged, more an individual but also part of a community.       As a matter of fact, you can come to China now, but you have to be isolated for 2 weeks.

      @@lolicon_char Actually, no flights are available to go there from my location, and consulate will not issue visa for me, maybe my kids can go with their Chinese mom but not even that are we confident on...

    I Remember I went back to China around 10 years ago and discovered a resort like the massage movie place but also have like sauna, pool, games room, playground and more. I also imagined a business like that in aus will go really well. Cause we have nothing like that at all. Maybe you can take us to a resort in your next video. Thanks keep up the good work.

    When I went to Chongqing last year, I was deeply impressed by the fact that in the morning, Chongqing’s urban management law enforcement for many merchants occupying the road was not as brutal as other cities. They even helped merchants move tables and stools!

    The temp difference can be amazing. My girlfriend and I left Beijing wearing long johns as it was near zero but when we got to Shenzhen it was 30C so everyone from the plane went straight to the first set of toilets in the airport and got changed - 100 people in the toilets but in true Chinese fashion they had been built to take that many people.

    What a perfect day venturing through an amazing city! It blows my mind you could fit so much incredible food into such a small budget!!!
    I'm still waiting to get over to China with my family to teach, and each time I see you in a new city I declare "oh my gosh, we are moving THERE!!!" - but this time I feel like I mean it, haha, Chongqing looks EPIC!!!

    I always feel like the mouth numbing effects of Sichuan peppercorn are very helpful in handling the spice. Not sure if its actually true. Can't wait for my sabbatical in 2024 to travel china for half a year if its possible to visit again. I really need to get back someday. If it wasn't for covid I would be doing my phd at Sichuan University right now :(

    I don't care much about food, but I was shocked when I first ate ice powder in Chongqing two years ago. It's a food from heaven. It's delicious! If 10 is the full score, I'll give it 100. It is one of the best foods in the world, especially in hot summer. And it's cheap.
