Where is My Settlement Check?!?

The majority of the time the settlement check is delivered at the court settlement hearing or when we write up the papers with the State Ombudsman. However, since we cannot control this process, sometimes the delivery of settlement checks are delayed. This is rare, but sometimes it happens. We do our best to deliver our client’s settlement proceeds to them as timely as possible. Please have patience with us!

After my settlement, was told the the liens is negotiating medical expenses because I have a high cost case. It’s been six months that my case was settled, and no check.

I signed my settlement on May 17 2024 it’s July 11th and still haven’t recieved the check. Lawyer said would recieve in a few weeks and didn’t then it was 30days and didn’t then they promised that they would have the check by July first and didn’t now the day was before July 15th and today I called and now the date is on July 15th. Is there a way to look up a case that has been settled???

Call the insurance company to open a claim. Also file legal malpractice with the Bar association, also tell them your filing criminal charges

I just received a letter from my attorney along with a paper to sign that says the insurer agrees to pay me the amount. I signed it and mailed it back to the attorney. What’s next?

Recieved a PPD check for a certain amount, but I have not recieved no more w/c checks. I have not settled my case yet. No papers were signed. What's next? I do have a lawyer, but I really need to know what's the process of all this.

My attorney's office who is based out of Missouri, told me yesterday that it will take more than a month to get my check sent to me! I have a class A lawsuit that I have been waiting for 6 years now for them to settle on out of court! My fiance's daughter turns 18 in April and she loses her check which is the check that was paying some of the bills and I am on SSI so I can't afford to pay ALL of the bills alone!!! How do I get my money sent to me sooner than a few months?

Sorry to hear about this. In the future, there are companies that do what are called post-settlement loans. It's like CashApp or Zelle but for settlements.

I have. Quick question. I received a notice of partial permanent disability benefits and it has the qme rating and amount. Once my lawyer tells the insurance company I accept the rating and amount how long does it take for the insurance company to send ppd check? Thank you in advance.

I like to know why a claim adjuster would ask a claimant to notarize their signature on a release to settle?

I signed the released. The next day I got a letter from the insurance saying they received the forms and are sending the check under my lawyer and my name. It’s been two weeks. How much more would I have to wait?

Wondering how / where to go to find out on a settlement my husband recived in H.S. when a school bus hit him. He knows thru his parents it was settled but they kept ALL the money and won't answer the question when asked. This was during the 1970's. All my husband wants to know who much was he ever awarded.

The laws back then were different. Now for a minor they put it into an annuity, or lump sums for college. It looks like his parents spent it.
