Other details such as Snow living on the 12th floor and having to climb 12 flights of stairs because of the elevator being broken was definitely not subtle, but what really sold it for me was the detail of the basement where it says that it was big enough to hold not only the residents of entire building but also half of the entire block (the training area in the basement level of the training center.......that seems big enough based on that... 👀)

full time lurker first time commenter lol, but I'm actually very inclined to believe that Coin was responsible for the district 8 bombing, at least in the book canon. I feel like it's a pretty bad look for the Capitol to be bombing a hospital of civilians during a 'time of peace', as Snow would like to sell. Usually, nobody outside of the district it happened within would know so you'd think it would be the perfect insular opportunity to get rid of the Katniss problem swiftly, but I'd think if he could see what they were doing in any capacity while they were there in order to know they were there, surely he'd know that the big bulky camera crew of 'insects' were there with them? And considering District 13 used to be the capitols military hub, I think it'd make sense they'd have some old Capitol equipment leftover that Coin could send out to create the perfect blatant display of cruelty and light the rage and fire (pun intended) under katniss that Plutarch promised her. Snow wouldn't say anything because his game is with Katniss, and he'd want to see if she was clever enough to figure it out on her own, that her potential new leader was just like him. The movie 'I want them all dead' line is actually so fucking hilarious to me and kind of the best, and I do think he'd think that way, but I'm not sure Snow's style has ever been so... idk. Direct? Big and show-offy? He's an opportunist at heart so it totally is possible that I'm reading too much into it (this vid is the first time I've heard this theory lol) but generally, Snow is more under-handed and sly, always trying to maintain some sort of veil of power and calm (and sort of closeness) to Katniss, and charm and performative kindness to others and Panem. I'm not even sure how to express what I mean at this point, but to me, explosives and poison are very different MOs. Dropping military bombs on the fly feels very much more like a play in Coin's game than Snow's, to me personally. P.S. lolol I totally agree with you on the hijacking theory. The idea gives fandom brainrot (aka God help me I've been in this fandom too long I am so desperate for new content I AM gonna start making shit up for fun) I think it's interesting as an idea but when you think about it for more than a second it's like oh haha that just strips Katniss of all agency which yeah. defeats the purpose of the original work... maybe as some kinda total switch up Capitol wins au (I'm imagining like. doing a Joja playthrough on stardew LMAO) it could be really really interesting to get into all the implications of a setup like that from the perspective of a Capitol person, everyone orchestrating this big show and inspiring a healthy dose of hope in the people specifically to crush it and demonstrate their power but be all omg :(( so sad!! guess that's what happens when you don't follow the rules... just to tighten their grip. anyway. now I'm getting kinda indulgent so I shall leave that there lol
I totally agree with your point on Snow's more sly/quiet killing style (which is so morbid to say). I think if he was trying to kill Katniss he would do it slowly and in a way that didn't put a direct hit on him if she became a martyr. As for the hijacking theory, yeah Katniss's sense of agency totally would be stripped if the theory was true and just don't see evidence of it in the novels. (The Capitol winning like a Stardew Valley Joja playthrough would be totally diabolical)
Am I the only one who thinks that Prim was put in the Arena on purpose. She was meant to be reaped before Effie pulled her name out of the bowl. If you listen to the scanning device when it scans Prim's blood, it makes a loud beeping sound at the end. If you keep listening, that same beeping sound doesn't sound when it scans the blood of the other girls. Is it just me or did anyone else noticed this too? Or am I just hearing things haha. PS. There's possibility the beeping was different because it was Prim's first year (but why would they need an alert for younger kids?) so I still think your theory has good evidence behind it. Maybe the Capitol chooses a certain amount of twelve year old kids a year to emphasise their control and Prim happened to be one of the chosen kids?
Theory: When Finnick says that the blood in Snow's mouth is because he took poison to murder someone and the antidote failed, this isn't the truth. Snow spread this rumor himself to cover up the real reason and make himself seem more intimidating. He actually caught an incurable strain of TB from Dill when she coughed on him during the 10th Games.
