Just put my order in for this gorgeous MOP dial. I've always admired Zelos's designs. This will be my first Zelos and my first MOP dial and my first travelers style GMT. Not my first world timer though.
Another winner from Zelos. I’m not a huge MOP fan though even though it looks super cool. And for me I don’t have enough money to jet set around the world so I will stick to Caller GMT’s which are much more convenient for me because I have my watches in a rotation. Thanks for the great review!
I do miss the "old" Zelos. There is nothing wrong with different and, in my opinion, the ability to do these designs now speak to the success and solid watches he built in the beginning. You are so right, most of the time we want a durable and value for money watch. Zelos is a different creature nowadays, at this price point, just provide a Swiss movement.
Pretty solid Zelos fanboy here, but that also means I have a few already. Going to give this one a miss not because it's a bad watch but because it isn't filling a niche for me. I've honestly been hoping for Zelos to put out a smaller, understated sports watch with an aventurine dial for a little bit now. Then I discovered Christopher Ward makes one. Saving my nickels for that.
They never tell me which model they are sending me, so this one surprised me as well.. I pulled it out and thought it was just an odd dark blue dial. Until the light caught it and the bezel came to life. I was like "O! Wow... that's the MOP."
Thank you for the review. I enjoyed it as always. I just set a reminder on my calendar for when it comes out. I still like the MOP the best even without the sapphire bezel.
Quality in-depth review as always. This is an interesting Zelos release. Like the world timer feature. Personally I am still unsure about the epoxy bezel coating as it appears not as durable.
Spot on review as always Shane. MOP and Damascus watches look great and the price is super appealing but not a fan of the world timer bezel. I could live with it but need to find some kind of flaw or else I'll be purchasing another Zelos :-)

As someone who prefers the cleaner look of a caller gmt with a 24 hour bezel and dislikes the busy look of worldtimers, this watch is not for me. From a design standpoint I like that Zelos has built their own style and brand identity to stand out compared to other brands. With that said from a design standpoint there are a few things I like and dislike about this watch. The yellow accents work perfectly with the MOP dial/bezel. The handset feels too generic especially with how unique the original handset was with the og thresher. The case design is pretty cool as well with inspiration from multiple other Zelos watches. I see Mako, Blacktip, Hammerhead, and Eagle. I like how the moment I see the case side profile it looks "Zelos" while still clearly being it's own unique model. When they make a diver version of the Thresher I'll probably pick one up
I find it interesting that we are so specific about a relatively minor difference in GMT functionality, but there are at least three versions of a world timer that we all call the same thing. I would say that a watch where the GMT hand is replaced by a 24 hour track that spins and can be set to align to a city list is a 'true world timer' and that this style is 'gmt with a world timer bezel'. Is there an official designation for the different types of world timer?
I've seen others ask that before, but as far as I know there is no official designation or consensus. Generally, if it has world time capabilities it's a "world timer".
The bracelet and the case are great. The dial, especially this MOP version, is just too much for me. Much to busy and the hands are not fitting the design. On the flip side - it saves me money because this release from Zelos I can happily give a pass. Would be Zelos #8 in my collection. 😂
