not possible? just opposite- we pay way too much for other brands
Yeah way too much every stupid thing super expensive for zero reasons
Your critique of some of the design choices was spot on IMO.
This is the third review I’m seeing, and even though I’m not a dress watch guy, I really like this. The macro shots really show off the details of that dial. Thanks!
I think you are completely wrong about the strap. The size is perfect and the quality/look is phenomenal. My only thought is that it might be better with a dark brown vice black. Obviously, this is a subjective category.
Amazing looking dial I have a $130 Sugess breguet homage that’s got this guilloche pattern superb
The open pinion bothers me. The rest of the dial and handset is so clean but there's this gaping unfinished hole in the center
This is a good review. A very critical and experienced eye.
Why does every caseback need to be an exhibition caseback? It's out of hand. Unless the movement is utterly beautiful to behold, like on an A. Lange & Sohne, close the caseback. Even on Grand Seiko, most watches should have a closed caseback.
Dave, your points about strap and manual-wind to reduce thickness are consistent with another Thai brand you know well, WISE. My last two purchases are the WISE AD760 Damascus Steel and the AD15 w/24kt gold dial. Both run on a 9015 no-date auto. The 760 has both a casual strap and a dress strap and is just 11mm o.a. The AD15 has brown croc and black ostrich dress straps and is a remarkable 9.65mm o.a. Autos can be thin. Another special series related to this Zelos is "Asura" with a 95% similar dial space composition but a case inspired by classic Thai design (reminds me of the Pitzmann!).
Incredible watch!
It's a Ten in my opinion.
Why is a quartz watch a compromise?
B/c most watch enthusiasts prefer mechanical movements and usually cringe at quartz ones. When people get into watches, they do not care about these things, but if they get more serious about watches, their perspectives change. Obviously if you are into Casio, it's different, but Casio collectors are basically a relatively small subsection of watch collectors.
Chopard called and would like it’s L.U.C 1860 design back.
Absolutely agree about the strap. It's nice but doesn't quite fit. Match it with a Milanese and we're getting somewhere.
Thanks for the great review. I agree with you completely about the strap. It doesn't look good on a dress watch. The buckle, stitching and taper are awful.
Crazy dial, absolutely amazing.
Can't agreed more on the strap size being slightly not proportional to case size....
Very pretty watch and dial. Not my thing but stunning. As with anything and everything, tech finds a way.
Another great video my man! This watch is incredible for the price!
How come they could get an ETA caliber for this? I thought ETA is reserved for the Swatch brands.
I think they were for awhile and then lost a court case or something that said they had to sell to other brands. But they're still rare outside of swatch as they're a bit more expensive than Selita.
20mm lugs are the correct size. It’s the correct size at 36mm as well. I am biased as I do not like 18mm straps, especially when they taper. Lug to lug should never be an odd number.
There is no risk of them selling out on release. You can order until the 31st and they will be released in two batches. The only linited run is the tantalum version.
Great looking watch, great specs., and great movement! Maybe I'm wrong but I think Zelos is becoming the Asian equivalent of Christopher Ward.
3D printed plastic?
She’s a real beauty
Dial is beautiful
Case looks cheap... If you're going to do a stamped case don't design it with so many steps, it's really obvious how soft the edges are...
That does seem like a lot of back play when winding. Though I’m sure it’s normal, a larger crown might make that less aggravating, but would not change that. It would need a different pinion and wheel set with more teeth for the click to backstop on. Or a refinement in the click mechanism itself.
I think the strongly tapered 20mm strap looks great!
Now ask Zelos when a moon phase variant is coming!
Just buying the dial and crystal.
I didn’t know you had a cat.
I'm so torn on this watch. When I saw the pics I thought,100% buying. Real guilloche for $800!Now watching vids the legibility is just terrible. I guess that's why Breguet uses a brushed outer ring for the indices. Also other brands will use blued indices. I actually like 20mm lugs on watches as small as 36mm. It gives more wrist presence to a small watch. 18mm makes the watch look small on my 7 in wrist. And would add the Rolex traditionally used 20mm on their 36mm cases. I would agree that the style of the strap doesn't match the style of the watch. Would also agree that the seconds hand is a let down along with the not capping the pinion. Capped pinions are such a small detail but really make a difference, giving a feel of quality. But it's only $800!!!!!!
The MOP mosaic version is heart stopping. Im not sure how often I would wear it, as the legibility is almost zero, but god it’s gorgeous.
Edit: I don’t think you need to see the indices/numerals to read a watch. We all know where the indices are. You just need to see the hands.
You should be able to find a well made good looking watch for $750.00. If you can't then save your money and buy a Casio. Watch companies are testing the limits of pricing beyond reason. Not sure if this particular model is worth it.
100% the seconds hand and strap are completely out of place
It's too small, it should be 39 mm, on your wrist looks very small.
I think it looks cheap.
the indices get lost in the dial. At least they do for the color of that dial.
Part of the appeal for a beautiful dial is the HAND MADE aspect needed in creating the dial.
There is too much going on the dail to really call this a dress watch. It is too busy and not simple and elegant. Great watch though.
The Milanese Band and the Burnt Orange band looked the best.
That size is to small to me. Looks like it should fit a women’s wrist.
Here we go again. If Ali wore the Tank and men that fought world wars wore 33-35mm watches, and you think 37mm is for women, there is something wrong with your perception of masculinity.
37mm is still larger than the average size that men have worn throughout history. It also ignores the fact the average wrist for males is 6.75”. The size is not to small for the average wrist. Watches have become grossly oversized over the past two decades or so. Thankfully the trend is towards reasonable sizing.
@@StandAloneState Yeah by this guy's logic every man in the 20th century wore a women's watch
Jesus doesn't approve.
Spot on review.
I really appreciate the workmanship, quality, and design of the watch.
Too feminine, and I have returned watches because of disappearing indices. Still, that Zelos quality 👍
'too feminine' sounds like a skill issue on your part. Muhammed Ali wore a tiny Cartier tank
@@spuckuk7039 Ouch !
@@spuckuk7039I agree with him. As I commented the same thing. It’s just to small. Looks like it should be on a woman’s size wrist.
@@roberttruesdell6151the guy was referring to the design, not the size. Your opinion is the ridiculous one
Too small.
2:01, time for another "paid, reimbursed" watch review by a fair & impartial watch spokesman. Sure his reputation was purchased by Zelous like most watch reviewers have been but don't worry about such things. Believe everything you hear..🎉
Quite a cynical comment
you really do have a grudge don't you? Come on then, since you have so much to say, tell us what happened to you.
Relax. You’ll be okay, eventually.
What has been your experience with Zelos watches?
@@StandAloneState he probably doesn’t have any. He just like to complain at every paid review video. I reckon he tried to start his own channel and it didn’t work out. He doesn’t refute.
Yeah, because 750 USD is nothing. What an unfortunate take. Or... maybe it's different when you BUY the watch with your own money huh?
That is an insane watch for 750. Pipe down jf u cant afford it
It is insane for only $750. If you can't save up for $750 then I wouldn't get into watches all too much unless you just want $100 seikos, casios, and timex
The Milanese Band and the Burnt Orange band looked the best.
That size is to small to me. Looks like it should fit a women’s wrist.
I mean 37mm is quite average for dress watches?
@@MrReyfan619 I guess just looks way too small. My wife wears that size.
@roberttruesdell6151 it's very much in the middle of unisex which is generally 36-38. "Women's" sizes are 30-34.
