      Sadly I couldn't afford to maintain it so stupidly I swapped it for another car, it was only a rolling chassis though, no electronics so I didn't loose too much.

    I would stick with stock tires for sure. I was running belted tires and there cumbersome and causes suspension breakage. Fun video! Love it!!!

      Again, totally agree and I like the fact that the stock tires balloon a little, creates more centrifugal force when jumping, much better control!

    What gearing did you go with to keep it cool. I'm putting this combo in tomorrow and I have a 30t pinion with a 46 spur. Contemplating getting a 54 spur . I would prefer to not have a fan on motor.

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah I was running 30/50 and it was getting hot so I swapped out both to 29/54 and it's got plenty of speed and it's much better, stays heaps cooler👌

      I actually got the brushed version because I had the brushless system already, I just needed a chassis for it and the VRX cars have always looked interesting to me so I thought why not😅
      I think the brushless version would do about 60kph or a bit more on-road.
      Thanks again for the sub👍

    Already have a max 6 in my xMaxx. I’m debating on getting this 1100kv motor or the 800kv but if I get the 800kv I need to get the max 5 which I kinda don’t want to. What do you think

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  2 роки тому +1

      I definitely like the 1100kv motor but I had a 910kv motor in it for a while and it was a BEAST!
      Same as you though, I needed a max5, I actually fried a max6 because I over geared it just😭
      The 1100kv in my opinion👍

    Is the shaft on the motor the same size as the stock motor shaft? It would be cool if it was so I could use my stock pinion.

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  2 роки тому

      No it's not sadly, they have 8mm shafts but there are a fair few options in 8mm pinions.
      For a motor like that you would need around a 29t pinion anyway, would be quite slow I'd imagine with stock gearing🤷‍♂️

    Just asking, I just got a Max6 and I just installed it, and I don't know why, I have problems with reversing, when I reverse the transmitter, the red light turns on on the esc, means it detects the signal but its not moving backwards, and only reverses sometimes when I very aggressively reverse my car, do you also have such a problem? Or do you know how to fix it?

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  2 роки тому

      I do not have this issue.
      Did you calibrate it before running it for the first time?

  • @Dickson219
    @Dickson219 4 місяці тому

    That motor is actually overkill bud. It has plenty power to pull that light plastic truck out of a nose dive but looks like you have belted tires on it. Put the stockers back on it and that thing will manipulate in the air super easy. I ran my Xmaxx with just a Max6 for a while and then I when the shit traxxas motor finally went out I went with a hobbywing 4990 size can 1650kv motor and you can’t get a better setup than that. You go putting those those big 56mm can motors and Max5 esc in a Xmaxx and that’s just way too much weight and too much power to even have fun with the truck.

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  4 місяці тому

      Saying it's overkill then saying it won't flip because of the belted wheels doesn't make sense.
      Wouldn't a overkill lift the nose of as you say a "light plastic truck"?
      It was a great set-up and had plenty of air control on the right size jumps.
      But it doesn't matter anyway, I no longer have it and will probably never be able to get one again.
