You can get metal spring clips for those guard eyebrows, rare spares has them & they don't break. mine had plastic on one side & metal on the other, that's how i can across them. I made mine all metal now. I'm at a similar stage to you on the rebuild.
@@BluesShed pretty sure its this: MP0023 Universal Moulding Clip Kit 5/8" x 5/8" there's a pic on the web site, they have a square base and an X for the spring.

@Gokizzmass sorry mate got side tracked with my new lincoln welding it doesn't pass gas in Tig mode so interesting discussion at Sydney tools the other and I didn't get to rare spares The GXL is at Sean's my painter atm in prep for centre Nats so I won't get back into the big smoke for a while now I need to get in there to buy 2 more single power window switches When is a car Finnished NEVER Flick me the link I'd love to have a look Cheers Blue
