I’m hoping Re:coded gets the same treatment. Re:Coded is heavily underrated.
358/2 days was the first KH game from the series that I played, and my entry into the KH series.❤This was also one of my most favourite NDS titles. Sad it never got a proper remake.
Re:Coded should be playable too with the same setup I'm guessing?
Maybe you could make another short video showing that off if it works, a couple of people in the comments has never played the KH series so this might give them a way to actually experience the gameplay rather than just watch the movies and move on.
I'm sure it can be done with Re:Coded, but as it stands right now Melon Mix is explicitly 358/2 Days.
May be worth inquiring to the developer of Melon Mix tho.
Last time I played DAYS it was on my iPhone with the DS emulator but definitely wouldn’t mind it being bigger
I never played 358/2days or recoded because they were made into cinemas they should make these playable

you actually can use the right analog stick for camera control by mapping the right stick to the touch screen controls. if you do it right, it works flawlessly
Seems to work alright so far but is it just me or the opening cinematic is kinda borked with it fading in and out and going black near the end when Xemnas gives Roxas his name onwards?
There's 2 notable exceptions, actually
358/2 and Re:Coded. Both of which are great games in their own right.

Does this emulator config add camera control? I know both KH DS games let you do it with the touchscreen edges, and there are cheats available on 3ds hardware that map it to input. Also, hope this project is done for Coded as well down the line
Yes! The camera movement Its a little clunky, like you are rotating it in quarters, but its better than nothing
Yes you can map your right analog stick
You go to input settings, then Touch Screen, and under the Joystick Mappings you click each option for LEFT RIGHT UP and DOWN to your right stick

One thing inwould add is turn your frame limiter off in both the configurating and your steam deck if you have audio issues. I don't know why this works but it fixes most of the crunching.
Edit: I thought this fixed it, but I only removed frame limit in game and it only somewhat helped. When I completely removed frame limit the game speeds up to ungodly levels and breaks completely
if you go to 'touch screen' in the input configuration, you can map the touch screen swipes to right analog stick to ~kind of, sort of~ have analog stick camera control
Any idea wat I'm doing wrong? I open it but it goes full screen with no options to get to menus and add controls
Wait what are you using to record in desktop mode? OBS is not working properly for me.
appimage version doesn't work for me. Set up folder with rom as described, running the app opens the game successfully, but recognizes no button inputs and opening any of the emulator menus (eg to configure inputs) causes the app to freeze. I was able to get the windows version working via proton by downloading an additional ini file (look for instructions on running earlier versions on deck). this caused a flickering problem in the in-game menu which was fixed by removing the 'top screen scaling' line from the ini. I have no idea why the appimage isn't working for me since it clearly works here in the video as it should.
A note on the steam version, it’s not actually the game. It’s just the cutscenes from the game. (It’s the same as how it was on the PS3 and PS4 collections)

Everything in the permissions section in the properties window is grayed out for me
Unfortunately I forgot to set the hotkey for full screen and whenever I start up it’s stuck in full screen can anyone help?
Redownloading does nothing btw it seems to keep the same settings

You can wipe the config by going into the .config folder in your Home folder (it'll be hidden by default).
Inside the .config folder is a folder called "khDaysMM". You can safely delete that folder to erase all emulator settings. Your save data will be untouched.
You will need to rebind keys again and graphical settings and whatnot though.

Sweet, the series has been on my mind recently with other news from SE. Glad I don't have to buy on epic, will be worth the wait for sure. I wonder if it will be a compilation or a la carte?
The entire series is condensed into three different compilations.
The first one has KH1 Final Mix, Re-Chain of Memories, KH2 Final Mix, and BBS Final Mix
The second one has DDD & 0.2 BBS
The third release is KHIII and its DLC.
This game doesn't exist in any of the compilations, just part of the cutscenes, same as recoded.
When i double click the appimage nothing happens. Does anybody have the same Problem?
which button 7 is on the steam deck for the controls
I believe button 7 is select but I'm not certain. I'd just redo the control settings just in case.

Check the GitHub page for information on how to get it working on Macs. I don't own a Mac so I can't help you there.
@@HiTechLoLife I did there wasn't any simple info on it. hopefully someone makes an extensive tutorial video, plus I don't have a steam deck and can't afford one right now

i wish square enix put the game and not just cutscenes for the steam version
If you're unsatisfied with some things in canon, I suggest you to read "KH: Sea-Change of Fate" particularly the female cast. In it, Kairi breaks from her script at the end of "KH 1", joining Sora, Donald and Goofy in their adventures. BTW, "Breaking the script" isn't an exaggeration. The Fates, from "Hercules", comment on how she broke multiple prophecies when she decided not to stay at Traverse Town, gaining her Keyblade (Naminé gains one too, btw). Oh ! And the Disney characters FINALLY become useful and actually likable.
Now, a few warnings:
-The author uses some elements from the manga, so don't be surprised at some heavier takes on the story;
-Marluxia is a pedophile;
-There's some polygamy (and the author is open to multiple forms of sexuality), but it actually contributes for multiple characters' development;
-Axel and Xion are officially recognized as trans in the series (on a personal note, I could actually see that as canon, kinda wished it was, I may ask the author if I could use the trans perspective);
-You'll find Aqua's ship in this fic to be...unique. But personally, I could see it too. I ship Cortana and MasterChief. Can't really judge after that;
-Not sure if there's something else I should tell you, because I can only think of good things, and those are a surprise I want you to find and experience for yourself.
