What IS a 'tower defence' game?... The definition has become unclear but I think you'll like these. Also click this to support and check out IDUN Frontline Survival on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/2186360?KOL&GamerZakh [ad] Thank you and thanks to Surefire Games for sponsoring.
Hey Zakh! Thanks for the shoutout! You are the first to feature us so it has us bouncing in our seats. We are working on a better trailer and soon a demo. Hope you will keep an eye on us ;)
Toyshire reminds me of the old Attack on Toys games. Thank you, I didnt know this was a thing, and now its on my Wishlist... Ill buy you a beer next time your in Vegas. lol
Great list that I didn't know I needed ! Toy Shire was already on my wishlist, but I've added Dawn of Defense, that one looks most up my alley ! Dungeon Warfare 3 and Nordhold are on my 'wait for general eception' list.
Hey zakh! Thanks for doing this all the time. I think you're one of the only channel who constantly covers upcoming games in details like this and so glad your focus is mostly on rts and city building. I've watched almost all of your upcoming games videos every year and im yet to see "super fantasy Kingdom" in any of your videos. I've pointed it out in one of your videos last year too and your replied saying you're looking into it. I would really appreciate your thoughts on that game as it looks really fun and i think its scheduled to be released in the first half of this year.
I'm easy on genres, continue to include adjacent or similar feeling games as its cool to see more game recommendations. Cant wait for new Orcs Must Die!
Found the Toy Shire demo under a different product page, Toy Shire: Room One. I'm not sure it'll stand out in terms of gameplay, but the concept and delivery is very charming.
Regarding Age Of Darkness - they're all Stronghold-like games to me, but that's roughly 33% RTS, 33% City builder and 33% Tower Defense with that 1% of random BS happening as well :)
You are missing a great tower defense: Tower Factory, have played the early release and its a great TD. I was not aware of Dawn Of Defense, this one looks great and I will give that one a try also.
Ooh, Toy Shire looks so nice and quaint~! Tower Defence is not exactly my genre (except for the first Plants vs. Zombies, that was a classic :3), but if it was, I'd certainly be interested in that game the most! ^ -^
For a long time, I felt this genre was dying with the majority of new games being cheap mobile games. This list is so exciting! Especially Defender's Quest 2! I can't believe it's getting a sequel so many years after the first.
Yeah I never made a tower defence list before until last year when I noticed there was a sudden major increase in interest. The genre really picked up recently.
I used to like tower defense. Don't remember the last good one I played. Probably Defender's Quest. Looking for the sequel to that, but it's been a decade since. I wanted to go back to the original, but they broke all the mods when they released an updated version.
I wonder can't most tower defense be put under rogue lite games just by default because each map you do start from scrap with most having a meta progression where you unlock other turrets and skills or starter conditions. Or am I playing just a very small portion of the genre.
@@TheYdyp Many are yes but it's not a requirement of the genre. Roguelite isn't just restarting from scrap with a level, it's with a run. So if you lose a level, you don't get to restart that level you have to start an entirely new run from the very beginning.
@@askriecka That one is being a little weird with it's release. It was supposed to have a demo then release into early access in 2023. They also haven't been pushing much marketing out about it, which is weird because it's now being published by Hooded Horse who usually do put out marketing for releasing games. It's also a solo developer working on it, so timelines tend to stretch. The Steam page says 2025 but considering it's planning for early access first I don't have a lot of confidence in a 2025 release and on the off chance it does enter early access in 2025 I can list it for next year's list for full release in 2026.
@@cycklist Last year's list is 'defence', this year is 'defense' to cover more ground and also if you check Google trends, 'defense' has like 4 times more people searching for it spelled that way. I kept it as 'defence' in the thumbnail and mix both in the description.

Zakh is responsible for my gigantic wishlist, every time there's a video like this it grows larger and larger.
I'm glad you find them useful! I just keep finding more and more interesting games coming out.
Whishlist must grow! xD

Yeah good list indeed

I missed xenobreakers and castle of alchemists from my list. Both look good, thanks for bringing them to my attention zak

Thank you!
Dungeon Warfare 2 is excellent. Truly. Grab it on an ipad and enjoy your long flight. It is perfection.

Polismos just released! Will you be reviewing it? Looks interesting, but I'm not sure if I can justify buying it just yet.
It's on my list of games to play, but I'm struggling to keep up lol. Like 4 or 5 city builders are releasing just this month.
@@GamerZakh A good problem to have :)
What are the games in the intro? those look awesome
I write them out on screen at one point in the intro, been crediting the intro games like this in recent list videos.
F me Idk how I missed that ty

Dungeon Warfare 2 was good.
А где же dungeon defenders 2 или 1?)
A 2017 and 2011 game, not 2025.

You spelled defence wrong in the title 😕

Deathtrap is da best td. Even thou I enjoy indie, this all looks like lazy cash grabs.
