Yeah people may clown on him for it but honestly it's a breath of fresh air among tons of rap songs about drugging, coercing, threatening and buying women.
Man, finally someone who included That Mexican OT on a year end list. His album was fuckin ridiculous & johnny dang is one of the best songs this year overrall, i played that song to death, also the comeback of the year goes to the legendary Paul Wall
Man, these lists are just perfect. Not only are they always very replayable, but in the case of some of the best songs, I end up going straight from having never heard them to them being straight on my playlist. Thank you for doing this every year, we love it!
i remember when sorry not sorry came out, it was the march of my senior year in high school. i played it constantly walking around the halls when it was only on youtube. it is one of my favorite tyler tracks ever. everything about it, it’s just beautiful
I 1000% agree with "SORRY NOT SORRY" being number 1 cause it still is one of my favorite Tyler song's since anything off of "IGOR" and is honestly just a massive banger
@CheeseDaddy nah I like CMIYGL but there weren't any songs that I loved as much as songs on Albums like "IGOR" and "Flower Boy" but I still liked songs like "Corso" and "Safari" and a couple others tho
To be fair Nakamura HAS done a middle rope variation of the Kishasa in the past, but it can be confused with being off the top 'cause he sits on it before vaulting himself off the ropes for it.
Sorry Not Sorry is incredible, nice inclusion. Also I love Johnny Dang great inclusion. I’d switch Oh U Went for Jonesboro and Nakamura for Flooded The Face but nice list
Attention is so much better than Paint the Town Red. The instrumental, songwriting and pen is sooooo much superior. I’m only at 8 though, so if it pop after, cool. I can’t remember if it charted though
Seeing mexican OT on the thumbnail is crazy i started listening to him before he blew up, i dont listen to rap anymore so until this video i had no clue he even did blow up
Megan made a rock remix of Cobra with Spiritbox and WOW it's amazing I could never do number 10. I can't roll my r's at all so that's impossible😭😂😂 Paul Wall sounded good, im actually kinda surprised. I like a few of his songs but he's mostly a feature/features others
Haven’t watched yet, and idk what songs were hits or not. But I’d def say Hyena off Utopia should be on here. Best song off the album, maybe Gang Gang Gang if it charted. But Sorry not Sorry 100% deserves to the W. I loved the verses, and it felt like a perfect way to end both the Estate Sale album and Call me if you get lost era overrall.
Favorite rap song of the year is easily my eyes from utopia for sure, i havent replayed a single other song as much as that track. The other song i replayed the most is probably 2 for 1 from Key Glock, just an absolute fucking banger trap song.
I know you said this year wasn’t the greatest for rap but that doesn’t justify putting Big Weenie by Eminem at every spot. I respect the grind though can’t wait for the worst list ❤❤
It sucks that they have to be hit rap songs to be eligible for this list. Scaring the hoes had no hits, but some of the best music to come out this year
I get what you’re saying but one of the main reasons I do it this way is to keep the lists varied. If I didn’t, the majority of this list would just be my favourite song from each of my Top 10 Rap Albums list that’s coming out next
Song best of year rap 1. Sa-roc TALK TO ME NICE 2. Rapsody asteroids 3. billy woods FaceTime 4. Elzhi & Oh No - Fireballs 5. lil yachty the secret recipe feature j Cole 6. ransom che noir war dogs 7. killer mike scientists and engineers André 3000
I’m not a big drake fan, and I do really enjoy thug, but drake had the best verse on Oh u went imo. The beat was pretty cool too, but I just don’t like the fact that thug ran with the same flow for his whole part of the song. I still enjoy the song overall tho.
i honestly just cant imagine putting any drake on the list, his music for a long time has been coma inducing, agreed with most of the rest of the list though, doja cat had a great year imo, had some very good songs love the metal remix to cobra but the original is good

I didn't expect you to shout me out, I'm so happy rn
Thank you for helping me discover a great new song that is doomsday by cordae juice wrld and lyrical lemonade
the decision to put Destroy Lonleys entire album as #1 was definitely unexpected, but I respect your decision ❤
Nah J. Cole so humble for understanding consent 😊 My glorious king
J. Cole our humble legend
Yeah people may clown on him for it but honestly it's a breath of fresh air among tons of rap songs about drugging, coercing, threatening and buying women.
When he asks permission 😊😊😊
J Cole TRASH

Congrats to Tyler for now being the only artist to have received 2 CDTV awards for song of the year. I bet Soulja Boy is so proud.
Seeing That Mexican OT on here is really cool considering I’ve seen his build up while also not tuning into him a lot. Love to see his growth
I'm glad you're #1 song of 2023 is Rich Baby Daddy.
Also the spirit box version of cobra went absolutely nuts
Facts
My favorite Tyler the creator track has always been Rusty, so when he basically made Rusty but better 10 years later, it’s easily my SOTY
i remember when sorry not sorry came out, it was the march of my senior year in high school. i played it constantly walking around the halls when it was only on youtube. it is one of my favorite tyler tracks ever. everything about it, it’s just beautiful
U mean..last year lol? U making last year sound like a decade ago
Great to see the Tried Our Best praise. One of my favorite Drake songs in a while
Goated video as usual 🙌
I feel the same, that song should be in a better project cause it is just amazing
this is one of the absolute best lists i’ve seen, well done 👏🏾
Been waitin’ for 2023 lists impatiently bro😮💨
I 1000% agree with "SORRY NOT SORRY" being number 1 cause it still is one of my favorite Tyler song's since anything off of "IGOR" and is honestly just a massive banger
lacking respect to hot wind blows and corso and also the rest of cmiygl

Johnny Dang is for sure my GOAT 2023 hit. I love how That Mexican OT flows over his whole album, & he's got hella potential
Some lovely choices! My favourite unfortunately didn't chart, but it has two verses from two GOATs: Nas feat. Lil Wayne - Never Die
i feel like we have almost the exact same taste in music brother... i found so many good songs from ur vids!
17:10 This is my biggest W ever
big Pog W
Both of yall biggest W's lol

My favourite song this year is by far The Hillbillies. It came out at the perfect time for me
Cobra definitely deserved to be on here especially since Megan’s from the same state as I am
Merry Christmas cdtv
8am in Charlotte is very replayable in my opinion
That Mexican OT was the break out star of the year
What a Christmas present!
wake up babe, video of the year just dropped
That Megan track is so good.
it really is, probably one of her overall best tracks yet
Agreed. Probably a top 3 Megan track for me tbh.
looool, we DID NOT listen
J Cole apparently needs to explain consent because a surprising amount of people don’t understand it apparently
To be fair Nakamura HAS done a middle rope variation of the Kishasa in the past, but it can be confused with being off the top 'cause he sits on it before vaulting himself off the ropes for it.

Mad respect for putting Nakamura there (also nice thing you're a wrestling fan 🔥)
Attention is so much better than Paint the Town Red. The instrumental, songwriting and pen is sooooo much superior. I’m only at 8 though, so if it pop after, cool. I can’t remember if it charted though
Attention was one of my favorite songs off Scarlet
I’ve never clicked a video faster than
W for I KNOW ? and HYAENA, those are my two favorites from UTOPIA.
Bro I seen Travis live bro omg I Know was so good live he run it back like 3 times n did acappella
CDTV breaking his own rule. Now this Video is Fire
I knew Yeat would get number 1, congratulations to him for always making hits 🔥
putting all of a great chaos in this list is crazy
Say my grace goes CRAZY🔥🔥 The fact he's a producer he has a crazy ear for songs.
I have now listened to all 12 of these songs and formed my own opinions on em, which no one will ever know probably.
Tell Trav to hit us up about that “I Know” music vid, we’ll give CDTV that creative design credit fs
Surprised you didn’t put scientists & engineers on here
Did I just see That Mexican OT on the thumbnail,he actually made it
Seeing mexican OT on the thumbnail is crazy i started listening to him before he blew up, i dont listen to rap anymore so until this video i had no clue he even did blow up
I think Johnny Dang deserved a higher spot. That Mexican OT has a unique flow that stands out even from alot of the people on this list
best christmas present ever
A Mexican ot x dababy track would be heat
this could actually work really well, he would even fit in on a Johnny Dang remix
Fr
how tf am i just now finding out cdtv likes wrestling😭
Merry Christmas y’all
Wow im glad you put 6ix 9ine as number 1. Really based
This is definitely a list.
sorry not sorry was fucking phenomenal. tyler really outdid himself once again

Think the spiritbox remix with meg was better for the rap rock style
For me, Travis Scotts My eyes is the song of the year. I cream everytime i hear that switch.
OH MY GOD CDTV EOY LIST BEFORE JANUARY 😱😱😱😱😱

The Spiritbox remix of Cobra is fucking amazing.

I don’t know if it ever charted but my favorite rap song of the year is shook up by Erick the Architect and Joey Badass
This man dropping on time is crazy. Next thing we see is carto dropping when he says
WE UP
What are your thoughts on the Spiritbox remix of Cobra?
Omg I fucking knew there I go would be the honorable mention
Nakamura does a mid rope kinshasa sometimes, that’s about the only time he jumps
The Hillbillies thooo Kendrick and Keem🔥🔥
Cobra goes hard
Favorite rap song of the year is easily my eyes from utopia for sure, i havent replayed a single other song as much as that track. The other song i replayed the most is probably 2 for 1 from Key Glock, just an absolute fucking banger trap song.
so happy to see mexican ot on here
9:29 I mean he does the middle rope flying knee strike so I guess that technically counts
Personal favorite rap songs of 2023:
1. Billy Woods and Kenny Segal - Rapper Weed
2. Megan Thee Stallion - Cobra (feat. Spiritbox)
3. Aesop Rock - Aggressive Steven
4. Aesop Rock - Mindful Solutionism
5. Sexyy Red - Hood Rats
WHO THE FUCK IS FUCKIN STEVEN?!

One of my favorites was 500lbs by lil tecca
this cdtv ai is so realistic
So Shinsuke Nakamura does top rope bomaye/kinshasas from time to time. It’s his knee move thing.
It sucks that they have to be hit rap songs to be eligible for this list. Scaring the hoes had no hits, but some of the best music to come out this year

i like how uzi made a song over a sample from wwe then he performs i just wanna rock at wrestle mania
LOUIS VUITTON UMBRELLA WHEN I WALK THRU DA RAIN 🔥🔥

That Offset song absolutely sounded like Travis phoned it in. His appearance in the video looks phoned in too
Shinsuke relies more on brute force rather than high flying moves. King Of Strong Style for a reason
Absolutely agree with everything here except for Doja cat, that song is annoying and overplayed
that’s fair, it’s not overplayed for me because 99% of what i listen to is what i choose to hear
