    I have somatic pain in my lower back (being treated by an osteopath) but between appointments with him it sometimes come back (it’s on/off). Today was especially bad. I just did this video and I went from 6/10 pain to 0/10. I’m saving this for future uses and I’m subscribing to the channel. Thank you so much

    This is a great release. Thank you! My body just needed a different movement to release some very old trauma that was stubborn and you provided it for me. I love it!

      You're so welcome! We are glad that it was helpful. These practices work well over time, so continue to practice the Somatic Movement Flows that align with your anatomical area of focus. Feel free to share more after a few weeks. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Have a great weekend.

    Hi this is an excellent express version of the older QL stretch video which has an additional step of lifting both knees and slowly rotating to one side to place the pelvis down. Love that video which provides immediate relief. Also love your Unlocking Chronic Lower Back Pain video which has the scissoring of the hips and reaching back with the upper torso. These are my excellent go to videos and they stand the test of time.

    Do you have a standing movement, when people don't feel they have time to life on their backs, James ?

    • @gentlesomaticyoga
      @gentlesomaticyoga  Місяць тому

      I’m sorry, but I am not clear about this question either. Is this a question about making time to do these? Or are you asking about a modification because you are not able to lay on your back?

      @@cinmac3 Hi. Pardon my delay. I was away for the holiday. Yes, I do have Somatic Movement Flows modified for standing and using a wall for support. However, they are not on video yet.
      If you are interested, I offer virtual Zoom sessions and I can guide you into a practice. If so, here is my booking link: session-with-james.securechkout.com/

    This exercise helps SO much with the (often quite severe) menstrual cramps I usually experience each month. I remember reading something that made me connect one thing with another, searched for an exercise like this, found this video, and it works! It doesn't always work right away, but if so, after a while the pain ebbs out and can stay away for quite a while.
    I can't recall, though, what I read or where. Do you have an explanation to why this exercise so effectively can take the pain away/make it go down to just a minor inconvenience?
    So grateful for this tool! 🙏

      Thank you for this powerful testimonial that will likely help others discover this lesser known benefit of doing this Somatic Movement Flow. To understand the reasons why it works, I would encourage you to learn a little more about the neuroscience of GSY and to continue to explore other flows as well. The benefits are cumulative and unlimited with a regular practice. You can learn more about how this practice works in the playlist called "Interviews with James Knight - the method, neuroscience, and philosophy of GSY." We are happy to have you in this learning community.

    are you suppose to tuck the pelvis and stomach in when lifting the hip?

    • @gentlesomaticyoga
      @gentlesomaticyoga  2 роки тому

      Great question.... yes, for the most part. And, in GSY, you can change the vector of the direction of the hip to explore how the pelvis can move. Think of this as an explorative movement. James

    way way too fast for me. splendid flow though. i will try playing it on half speed.

      Thank you for this feedback. Moving at your own speed is ideal and we are happy to know that you intuited that option and choice for yourself. We invite people to watch the movements first, then customize them for your needs and considerations. We also have slower movement flows and recently added more enhancements to our new method called Somatic Movement Chair. You can access those videos through our subscription channel. Your first week is free and there are various options for your subscription thereafter. Check it out here: www.gentlesomaticyoga.com/somatic-wellness-tv/
