I cannot express thoroughly enough just how much respect and gratitude I have for Dr. Nancy and her efforts to educate both professionals and laypersons like myself in the CRITICAL role of psychoanalytic thought in understanding the plight of the human, and the human condition, in the modern world. The more exposure I have to her depth of knowledge, understanding and empathetic views of a very complex collection of issues, the deeper my own understanding, conviction, and appreciation grows. As a newly self-identified schizoid presently without access to a psychoanalytic therapist, her efforts to present a more complete and realistic view of schizoid psychology opens up helpful avenues to self-awareness that aren't part of the grossly deficient DSM-defined mainstream, and her advocacy for our silent minority earns her a special place in my private inner world; I suspect that's an appropriate "criteria" to add to the diagnostic category. (Schizoids love you too Dr. Nancy, 🤫 our secret). Thanks so much for this presentation, I can't think of a more appropriate or timely topic for a series of TED X talks; it's very disconcerting to see so little feedback on this presentation.
