    ''Only psychoanalysis really can help these patients, there are no other alternatives when it comes to serious pathology of the subjective experience of love and the integration of love and sexuality in all its forms.'' - Much needed today!

    The first psychologist I saw when I was 20 in 1968 was a Freudian psychoanalyst. I did not know how blessed and privileged I was. It was better than any of the many other therapy modalities I tried throughout the rest of my life. The next best was by Reichian therapist an adherent of Wilhelm Reich a disciple of Freud.

      What's the difference between jealousy and envy?
      Jealousy is somewhat natural, it occurs when someone has something you wish you had.
      Envy is where you are willing to injure the person possessing your desire, because they have what you want, and do not have.
      Luckily it's the right that is being deprived and not the left, or we wouldn't hear anything at all....

    My appreciation, such a thoroughful introduction on the various newer attempts to cure or at least kind of better sad conditions as those, covered in the explanations of their origin and manifestations of pathological illnesses and the general assumptions of the connections of multiple factors to be covered in treatment modalities and possibilities, in a really special lecture held by one of the most inspireing thinkers of our time..., I'm absolutely grateful to have seen it, it was extremely impressive, to witness the profound and emotional committment of
    Mr. Kernberg and moreover to live to the piont of learning on this theories via such a very dynamic lecture. Thank you, it's only sad, to probably be one of those, to have to go through such conditions... but, thanks for this Video ❤

    What implications does a lack of parental prohibition(s) during developmental stages have on the ego/superego and potential pathology(ies)? We see in the case studies neuroses that stem from overly-excessive demands by parents but how does this work in instances in which there is a lack of parental involvement/lack of structure. An example may be a child with a single parent who is addicted to drugs and neglects the child.
    EDIT: Also, I think that the video title is misleading: it isn't merely an introduction to psychoanalysis but, rather, 'An Introduction to Object Relations Theory as an Offshoot of Psychoanalysis'.

    The larger picture, so oft ignored by a chiseled mind, considers the disturbance of the splat background with the interweaving complexity of the material presented. There was a note here about pseudoscience; yes, the brain may squeeze but never conquer itself with apt explanation. This is a good thing.

    the mind/brain section which seeks to merge (a version of) psychoanalysis with neuroscience seems crazy to me and unlikely to be very productive either in psychoanalysis or in neuroscience since both will need to be treated in a simplistic/distorted fashion in order to fit with each other. Well, that is how it seems to me :-)

    You know that Freud lied about every single one of his "successes", right? Some are invented whole cloth.
    You describe almost nothing but failures in your own book - of course, not your responsibility, it's always the patient's fault for not submitting to your manipulations and humiliating tactics.
    What is your real success rate and for how many years on average did you fleece the vulnerable and the suffering?

    • @eecortese
      @eecortese Рік тому +2

      Every singe one? Lol. I assume you came here with the explicit intent of documenting Dr. Kernberg's failures. Truly unfortunate that your own analysis was unsuccessful. You should have sought Dr. Kernberg's treatment for your aggressive attitude and still unresolved conflicts towards the profession.

    • @mentalitydesignvideo
      @mentalitydesignvideo Рік тому

      @@eecortese yes, every single one. Obviously, you bought Freud's (well documented) lies whole cloth, haven't you? Have you read Kernberg's book, an almost unbroken litany of failures?
      Maybe you should've sought treatment for your gullibility and a need to submit to authority.
      Except there's none.

    It is difficult to know what to make of these. All one can do is look at one’s own experiences as a child, an adult, a parent and moving closer to one’s mortality. Looking at one’s experiences, I can see no parallels with my experiences of these states.
    Therefore, I’m strongly inclined to conclude that pscholology and psychoanalysis is at best a pseudoscience and very possibly, in my analysis, a complete load of nonsense. I suspect, those who give it some credibility, are largely the same people whom would be easily hypnotised and subject to irrational persuasion from, for example, religion or advertising or rhetoric. The feeble minded masses.

    • @Ziadevil09
      @Ziadevil09 9 місяців тому +2

      Firstly, by definition psychology can't be considered to be a pseudoscience because it is research based and structured around the scientific method. Psychological treatment theories are a different matter. Even still, there is significant evidence for the effectiveness of popular treatnent theories - psychoanalysis is not excluded from this. There is extensive data that shows a substantial correlation between therapeutic treatment and reductions in clinical symptoms. If you're serious about making an honest assessment of the efficacy and validity of the science and theories, you absolutely should do additional research.
