@@davidskidmore3442 interesting ... I've watched several reviews this week and all have claimed they are using the dual loop because of the face pressure on the standard strap.
It is actually tempting to get another knit one and try this hack as it has a nicer material, more surface area, and also has the tightening dial, which is way less annoying than the velcro on the included strap. (In reality, I'll probably just print an adapter for my quest/vive accessories or wait for a vision pro specific 3rd party strap.)
The weight distribution isn’t great with the other strap either. I love my Vision Pro, but am always looking to get the most comfortable viewing experience I can
The top strap is a neat idea. Reminds me of a strapless bra that has optional straps. Could probably just use a removable bra strap attached to itself. Cheaper and will fit tighter/more supportive on the head.
The top strap is literally included with every Vision purchase. It's called the "Dual Loop Band" instead of the Solo Band. This is a completely un-necessary print.
I think he made it clear that the knit band is quite comfortable. I have the VP and the dual band is fiddly and not as comfortable as everyone says… at least for me. I’m looking forward to trying this.
@8:42 you showed the page for the adapter you didn’t get to fit. The page says you need to use a sim ejector tool to remove the entire arm of the AVP to install it.
While he highlighted the Elegoo machines in this video, he does own other printers; a lot of his stuff is done in resin printers from another company, and he's reviewed a lot of different FDM and resin printers and accessories.
It's not too difficult to get the BoboVR converters to work. All you need to do it take your flush cutters and trim the lower retaining tab so that it only sticks up about half as much. Then take your file and bevel the edges you just produced (you don't want it to cut the AVP's silicon arm). Once you do that, you can just snap the converters into place (taking them off, you just reverse the process). Unfortunately due to the geometry of things, the BoboVR pushes Apple's metal strap receivers into your temples, which isn't particularly comfortable, but it does serve as a proof of concept for the halo idea, and it 100% gets the weight off your face!! So once someone designs a halo specifically for the AVP, all of the pain problems should completely go away.
1:43. I tried this mod myself, and in my personal experience, it did utterly nothing to improve the comfort. I really think what this headset needs is a proper halo.

I think it's a great hardware device, but I'm not in Apple's ecosystem, my last Apple device fell out of support about 10 years ago. Non-Mac/iPhone users are always second-class citizens with Apple's other products. Kinda hoping that the Valve or Google/Samsung projects see the Vision Pro and pick up on some of the ideas.
Why spend another $100 for a second knit band to fix a problem that's already been addressed with the second, free, strap that comes with the Apple Vision Pro?
MR JINGLES DICE - you obviously have never put one on your face so don’t expect me to agree with your opinion. I’ve bought for my family and friends at least two dozen Apple products over the years and we’ve enjoyed every single one of them!
Changing my comment because I realized the previous comment sounded like the focus was on unfollowing, which isn't productive. My point is, I'm not really interested in the Apple aVision being such a focus even if the idea is to print a part for it. Next the idea is to print a stand and a hook and then it turns into something that doesn't interest me at all anymore. How this makes more sense and is less volatile (and no I didn't read the comments on my old one, because I knew what I set myself up for).
So... seriously... your revelation is that you recreated the dual loop band that is already included with the Vision Pro by hacking together a couple of solo knit bands by using a 3d print? Ok. a) you just encouraged people to spend more money on an already expensive product just for the sake of incorporating a 3D print and b) it's un-necessary. I don't own the Vision Pro - but this seems like content for the sake of content, and the reason you should cite for your modification should be "because I can" not "because it's necessary" - as your title proclaims - you didn't fix anything - you just fixed it the way you chose to fix it rather than using what Apple already provided you for the same exact purpose.
For $3500, I would have expected this headset to be very nearly perfect, not have enough problems that it's already spawned an aftermarket of clever fixes.
