When I play Expert levels most of the time I just stop any cognitive functions and just stare into the distance and try to let my hands do the work... somehow that works pretty well once muscle memory kicks in.

Not sure if you actually want to know where to look, but I personally just look more at the notes that are farther away. Once you know where the note is it’s easy to look at something else and still hit it.
