In 1967 Squale manufactured the cases for the Blancpain 50 fathoms y1545, the watch you are reviewing is the current iteration of that case, the Blancpain 50 fathoms is not regarded as an homage watch, their are similarities between many watches. Squale is a brand with a rich diver watch heritage, with innovations under their belt (e.g. orange minute hand for diver visibility). The current y1545 range from Squale is much more than a homage it is the continuation from a heritage case they manufactured in the golden era of dive watches
Exactly right. Squale has a rich heritage of making dive watches most people don’t know about. They are a fantastic watch brand and have been making dive watches for many decades.
I have one. They Pepsi. The gmt hand on mine is independently adjustable. Also the silver outlines on the embassies and the hands are gold. Also my bezel is no-directional.
Yeah, the GMT hand is independently adjustable on this as well. Did I say that it wasn't? That would be my mistake. What I meant was that the hour hand is not independently adjustable like a true GMT. I'm glad they upgraded the bezel to me bi-directional. Enjoy your watch!
You might as well cut out 70% of the watch industry because most make a homogenous like the Rolex! It doesn’t bother me one bit because it see Squale on the Dial and not Rolex. At least you’re not wearing a fake Rolex that says Rolex that’s a big difference
I believe there are plenty of watches or there that aren't copies. I like this watch, just wish the lume is brighter and longer lasting. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for correcting me! Perhaps the similarities are just superficial.

@@ChaoTime101 you welcome! I’m looking for one like that 42mm.
@@automaticdial1 I think Steinhart makes them in that size.
