There are a lot of them in other countries like here in the DR. The Chinese one are very popular because they are the cheapest and they are hell coming-proof. The Japanese ones are more expensive, being the more popular the ones made by Daihatsu.
They need to stop with the full sized EVs and start with these functional small commuters. Imagine if instead of the the giant ford lightning you could have an electric Kei truck that has a longer range and charges faster.
They made a 6-seat version of this, and I believe they shared the same body with Suzuki, it's very practical, and I wish they had made an 80 HP of this, it would have been the ultimate small utility car.
This and the Mitsu Delica I would completely consider purchasing. That rear-mounted “Clover-4” engine gives me Volkswagen/Porsche vibes and I love it even more for that folding floor “feature”. Man Japan kept all the cool stuff to themselves and that side of the world apparently

In japan these things are colloquially known as "農道のポルシェ" the "porsche of the farm roads!" (since its RR) I own one of these, in ivy green too, but the 2WD, non SC version. I've never seen a SC one in person. Love it to death! Easy to work on, fun to drive. The post 2009 sambars are just rebadged daihatsu hijets, so make sure to get one of the subaru ones before they're gone!

I saw one of these for sale in Detroit last year. It was such an odd looking thing so I had to take a look. It was a faded blue 1994 Sambar with a giant sunroof window and only 13,000km. I think they were asking $10,900

How does the oil stay in it with the head and filler cap pointing sideways. How do you get an accurate reading with the dipstick with the laws of gravity? Some special design.
put four independent ATV tracks on this and it would make an awesome Snow machine. I wish these were cheap in Canada. Big money, taxes, duties, custom fees, broker fees...etc, make it uneconomical to purchase to import into Canada. You do see the odd ISUSU in Canada.
And on a second comment, can you give the year of the cars you show and perhaps not in every single one but once in a while, could you give us an idea of what it would cost average plus import fees pretty please

Kei cars can only legally seat 4 by Japanese law. It's probably a different model you're thinking of.
