This east coast trip has been epic, for the most part the weather has been perfect and the scenery stunning. So nice of those guys to take you 4 wheeling. You'll have to put the west coast on your bucket list.
Yeah, "Happy Christmas" is more common in the UK than it is in Australia. However, I do think "Merry Christmas" sounds very 'formal' -- it's like the 'official slogan' of Christmas -- and Aussies don't like sounding too official or formal! And the phrase also feels very 'wintery', it evokes feelings of the snow and a warm fireplace (which we see all the time in movies and TV shows), which doesn't fit the vibes of our summer Christmas! So that may be why you don't hear the phrase as often as in America. But that's just my own theory! :P

I’m blessed to live in this area. Also Fraser Island is now called its indigenous name K’gari. Where you drove to (looking across to K’gari) was Inskip Point.
When there is swell, Double Island Point (referred to as 'dee eye' by Sunny Coast surfers) is perhaps the longest ride in Oz. There's a few youtube clips online of it breaking. Lots of 4wds and surfers there when it's on. Glad to see you got to Carlo sandblow. Lots of people go to Rainbow and miss that.
If you like riding sand dunes, check out Moreton Island. Some crazy big dunes. Need 4wd for around the island, but you can take a boat just to Tangalooma, and maybe feed the dolphins.
These dunes you enjoy sliding...were spared mining. Most of these dunes from Byron Bay to Frazer Island were mined and destroyed in the last century for Rutile.
Sand hills are fun especially when your young full of energy.sometimes they can feel like a desert if the sea breeze doesn't get in on a hot day. Nice sand surfing guys .l built a sand car around my son when he was 4 the photos of him in his sand car are cool .
I have never heard of Rainbow Beach. It is a beautiful spot; I need to plan a trip up north soon. I used to go fishing weekly, Whiting was always amongst my catch. I hope your daughter enjoyed her aussie birthday 🎉🎉🎉🎉

small point of difference, not a complaint, a technicality if you will.... anything here in aus in a burger bun, we refer to it as a burger, not a sandwich. a sandwich, is anything in 2 slices of bread, including a toastie ( toasted sandwich ) a steak sanga ( you need to try one of those with the lot from a fish and chick shop :) ).. etc.

I really have enjoyed watching your travels in our wonderful country and you sound like such a lovely family , We live a few K's out of Miriam Vale and i see you guys were here not too long ago but from my own personal experience i don't think you should leave our country without visiting Ilfracombe Longreach and generally the central west of our wonderful state of Queensland but be prepared for the heat and more importantly the flies

Our Australian sun is very strong and we have the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. The worst sun damage we receive is when we are children. I think Australia in general we like to keep our country clean and our Forrest's and beaches too. It makes it a more pleasant experience for all if there's no rubbish on the beaches etc. we even have clean up Australia day which is local volunteers to clean up around our beaches, city's, and rural towns. Take care and keep making these great videos of your experiences in Australia hitting the road in a travelling holiday. Which is better you see and experience so much more than you would if you just stay in the capital city's and don't experience the people, culture, history , beauty of the place in general. Or I might be a bit biest being a resident of Australia.👋😊🦘
Hey guys loving your trip you are doing it right. You can ferry over and stay at Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island you don't need a 4wd as you passenger ferry over. they do a 4wd exploration tour of the main southern island sights such as Lake Mackenzie and Eli Creek. Enjoy!!

hi family just want to say on your east coast trip to Sydney please stop of to a cool small place called forster heaps of good surf beaches tunncurry,one mile Beach in town with a massive sand hill than next the green cathedral,next the ruins caravan park which we call as locals bullspadack then on to sandbar van Park which is celinto Beach that has a rainforest walk to beach than on to boomerang Beach and then to blueys Beach then on to seal Rocks a town that is protected as it was 30yrs ago people go to forster to shop and the walk to the lighthouse is amazing overlook a beach and can camp called treachery all these places I have mention can have great waves on good conditions

Use it! We like to use a clear zinc. Doesn't wash away as easy and its not as obnoxious as white zinc!

They still have K Mart in Australia for very cheap clothing and footwear. And other stuff too at half the price of other stores.
