- Utilizing extraordinary skill and precision, Air Force Pilots push each aircraft’s limits with complete control. While successfully completing their missions is paramount, their role as leaders and character models, training and commanding crews, is just as important. www.airforce.c...
I USED TO work at the assembly plant BUILDING THE C-17 or the MOOSE like we called it.I chased parts(and finding long lost or high value parts, for the ENTIRE CARGO AREA..THE 2ND BIGGEST PART of the plane besides the wings. I'M GLAD the C-17 is showing her strengths thru the world. I LOVE THIS PLANE.
I used to assist in the BUILDING OF THE THAT PRETTY PLANE AT McDonnell Douglas(boeing..YUK) B4 I GOT LAID OFF IN JUNE 2011. I WAS in the parts dept of the CENTER. FUSELAGE BUILD.I am also a USAF VET.(AGE MECHANIC). I love that plane..
Thank you for your service Captain Finch.
You are a beautiful and obviously talented young lady.
The US Air Force is lucky to have you !
"My path isn't exactly the most stereotypical one"
*goes to the most stereotypical school to be an AF officer*
and dad went to AF academy. Girl whaaat lol.
I said the same thing 😂😂
that was a double plot twist
Capt Finch, I salute you. Thank you for your service.
C-17, love this bird! Nice to see it fly.
Thank You for your service Mam! Making the USAF Proud!
As a civilian contractor for the military, I loved supporting all the troops down range on the air pad doing air cargo logistics, all good things come to an end some point in life, the skills I learned help me get a job with ups air freight!!..great job lady and all you do for the USA!!!!!!!

Thank you for serving your country...kudos!
I look at this woman with tremendous pride and see what a beautiful woman she is strong and knows her place. What an extraordinary Pilot!
Terrific ! your efforts paid off ! All worth it ! You are an inspiration to any young woman who wants to become a military pilot; at least, you are not dropping bombs on cities... that would keep me up at night, if I had to do it.
Very inspiring to those patriot people.
AMAZZING! I LOVE THE AIR FORCE WITH ALL MY HEART
I want to do this! this is my passion i will work my hardest to get there!
Where are you at now 😂
Thank you for your service Capt. Finch, and when your done with the AF, please fly for SOUTHWEST AIRLINES!!!
So inspiring. Thank for your service.
Captain Finch, May God Bless you and Keep You Safe and Your Crew. Have Some Fun for me.
Im Retired AF and sorry that i never got to pilot, due to my eyes
but im working on private pilot license so its ok, but she makes me proud>
Love my co worker AF female soldiers>
It's a shame that your eyes held you back. Under current USAF pilot medical requirements, you can have up to 20/70 eyesight and still qualify for UPT. It used to be 20/20. ;-)
Wish they would start the space A flying again I need a road trip. Never flew on a C17 yet and it would be an honor to fly with Capt Finch. My favorite was the C141
It's great to see these woman going and getting there pilot license. God speed
C-17 is the best military aircraft ever!
Thank you, Susan
Great career Susan !
Keep up the good flying !
This is exactly what I want to do man. Hopefully my eyesight doesn’t restrict me from getting in to be a pilot.
stanley, here are the general requirements to apply to be an Air Force pilot:

Happy Mother day Susan 💓
Yup. What you do is definitely awesome. You have the best office. I'm so jealous. Always wanted to be a pilot but I became 4 eyes when I was 12 in 1972. 😞
I love how much she appreciates her job. "Waw, this is awesome. This is my job." 🤩
Thank You for Your Service
God Bless Captain Finch. God Bless America 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Just remember the USAF isn't just about Eagles and Falcons.... A Finch can find her place!
She's such a beautiful captain!
I would’ve picked the C-5 galaxy or the KC-10.
KC-10 is going away in a couple years though:(
@@slappymcgillicuddy7532 KC-46, then.
can't bring a c5 the same places you can bring a c17, takes away the fun of it
I like the D-C3,goonie bird,Dakota,sky train.
Lovely person and lovely career god bless you captain.
Good for her! I hope she has a very rewarding career.
Captain Susan..a big salute to you

HooYah, Capt. Finch , USAF, doing Air Force Patriot Stuff!!🇺🇸🦅🗽⚔️
I’ve been thinking of Air Force lately for some reason. Military service is my last option if nothing works out for me to be a commercial pilot. I’m about to finish my associates degree of science and certificate of completion in Aviation science at my local community college. I will continue to complete my bachelors degree in the near future. So I’m not really qualified for this yet. Maybe when I finish college first.
Bravo, thank you for your services to humanity.
Congratulations!!! Beautiful accomplishment. 💕💕
Great job young lady 😀
Beautiful pilot!
Thank you for your service. Stay safe out there. God bless you 🙏❤️🇺🇸
1)How long does it take to become a pilot in the air force?
2) what's the requirements?
3) if i join the national guard, would i be able to become a pilot there or is it necessary that i must join the airforce in order to achieve my goal of flying?
You need to be under 30 and have a bachelor's degree of any kind. As long as you pass the AFOQT. National guard is a good start and my friend does it and goes around the world.
Have good eyesight and depth perception but if you fail it , you can get a waiver that will get you through
If I only have a high school diploma will the army provide all my studies so I can reach and achieve a bachelors degree?
20-20 vision MINIMUM... Bachelor's degree.. lean more toward math and engineering if possible, you will need it. The US Air Force is HIGHLY selective, on who they pick to fly... they get a lot of candidates. The Army would be easier, but they only have helicopters.
cmscms123456 but if I join with only a high school diploma will they provide college for me and university si I can become a pilot ? And I live in Canada
WIsh we had such an awesome air force.... This dream goes to back simulations

Wow beautiful captain.
You Go Girl! A lot of people don't know that women were building and test flying WW II planes on their own time and dime. A few died doing so for our country. Freedom Isn't Free Thank Our Military Women and Men, and especially our veterans!
C17 Or C130? Which would we rely on to transport our paratroopers if world war 3 were to happen? I like them both!
7xshadowxerox7 c17 is more capable and more storage
7xshadowxerox7
It would depend on all the parameters of the mission.
Wonderful
Pilots!!!❤️🎉🎉🎉
Am in high school, but I wish to fly c-17 or c-5 in future ✊🏿
BMK, you must be a US citizen with a bachelor degree to apply to be a pilot.

Hello dear
How are you doing today?
Wow, looks cool. I am scared of heights though
Tony, only 4% of Air Force members have flying careers. To see the other 96% of our careers you may view our career fields the Air Force has to offer. Each page will provide a career description, if it is an Enlisted, Officer or Health Professions and career requirements: www.airforce.com/careers

And just where did you get starships size Jedi
Are medical criteria for joining USAF different for transport and fighter pilots, or they have to meet the same criteria and the further progression in their career depends of their aspirations?
Veselin, pilots have the same medical requirements no matter the airframe. In the beginning they do not know what aircraft they will be on.
Path to a Pilot Seat
Once you are qualified and been selected to join the Air Force as a Commissioned Officer you will take this path to get your wings.
1.) Complete Officer Training through one of the following (AF Academy, AF ROTC, OTS)
2.) Enter Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) and begin your flight training. (@ 1 year)
3.) Nearing completion of Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) you will be assigned an Aircraft. It's called getting your Seat Assignment. This is determined by these factors: Class Ranking, training performance reports, instructor recommendations, your aircraft preferences, and Air Force needs.

Good job
Awesome to be you !
AWESOME 😊
Yeah BUDDY 😎👍
Way To Go Sue 😊👍
Question? Why do some air force pilots flight suit have their name tags with a yellow, blue or red background?
To my knowledge, the color of the name tape correlates with their squadron/wing. You see her yellow name tape matches the yellow tail flash on the plane. For example, I’m at Dover AFB, which flies C-5s and -17s, and the Dover tail flash is sky blue, as are our air crew name tapes. Hope this helps!
Remember everyone deployed. God bless you all. All the way.
inspiring.
Choose the heavies and transfer to the airlines after eight to ten years. 😆
How do you finish first in your class?
Do they have to do the g force test even if you are not going to be a fighter pilot?
JLS _ no but everyone has experience with Gs. That dinky initial trainer, the T-6 can pull up to 7+ and 3- Gs! The only difference is T-38 selects go to the Centrifuge but before then everyone experiences Gs
Magnifique avion
No promise you I will try Air Force in 7 years
Hello captain
So cute and brave, weldone ma'am, welcome to bkk Thailand
What is Captain Finch's Heritage-Hawaiian or Filipino?
She is so cool
You go girl
Good luck U.S.AIRFORCE ; best pilot and crew
Good luck all forces of UNITED STATES OF AMERICAN
GOD help you 👌👍💓🌹 always 😇😇😇🙌💪😇🙌😇😇😇😇
So do I get to choose between cargo pilot and fighter pilot. Or does the Air Force choose for me.
You get a say in which direction you wanna go unless there is a major deficit.
If I recall, and I might be wrong but you’re scores in basic flight training have a direct impact on what you move into, heavy’s, bombers, rotary and fighters. Top of the class gets first pick, most go with fighters but hey they might want heavies or helicopters. This info is 20 years old, things have and might have changed. Also I know a bunch of really unhappy pilots who were assigned to drones.
even though you guys are tied throwing me out of the plane and a couple times you did without parachutes...
Could you carry a MI-A2 tank ?
It is awesome
Captain,I'm in wuv!
Do they fly these planes in the Army????
Awesome
0:31 going to the Air Force academy is literally the most stereotypical thing you could do. I was hoping for at least a Prior E to Officer story.
1:01 imma stop you right there cause this is false advertising. You don’t “choose” which track you want, you have to compete for it with the typical order being t-38 first t-1 second and th-1 third. There are typically 3-5 t-38 slots per class of 12-20 so if you’re not one of those 3 you get sent to T-1. Big difference. There’s no real choice or else everyone and their momma would be going t-38
well technically you can choose as long as you've ranked highly enough in your class. I've talked to several people who say they would prefer to fly heavies than fighters. Not everyone is necessarily a fighter jock haha. You aren't forced to fly T-38's and fighters if you don't want to. It's very possible this pilot had the option between T-1 and T-38 and chose the T-1 over the T-38.
Cool!!
