This thing can take off from a 3,500 ft runway with 70,000 kg of cargo.
And can also reverse itself out of the parking spot and onto the taxiway. No need for pushback.
Sorry but it’s either metric or imperial ya can’t just mix up both units because then no one from either side will understand 😂😂
@@DanielW607 But that's how it is in aviatiin you use imperial for the altitude or length and metric for the weight
@@DanielW607 you have a real problem man. Every single comment converting feet to meter and there you are. Just in case you aren't aware, cience uses meters in US, aviation uses imperial here in the EU. So if you know a thing or two about aviation, feet won't harm our brain like meters harm yours. Even your beloved guns use the metric system, or a 9mm round isn't what I think it is. You are definitely a tool.

I’ve been watching UA-cam for like 5 hours and am so deep that I’ve found this video, not disappointed tho
Thanks for your service. God bless you all.
I used to live and work there. It's pretty interesting to see your old jets on UA-cam.
This has to be the ultimate in bragging. I drive a lamborghini...I fly a global master.
You really need to do a version of what it takes to fly a c17 with a run way full of people and people hanging off the outside
i live near Travis Air Force Base! i enlisted into the Air Force Reserve last May as a Medical Material Specialist for the 349th which is at Travis Air Force Base with the 60th and i’m shipping out for Air Force basic training on November 3rd after my twenty second birthday! can’t wait to be part of a huge team! 👍🏽
congrats dude i wish i could fly this spectacular plane
Im a crew cheif on these birds, absolutely love having the privledge of keeping these massive machines in the sky!
c17 took me home from deployment this year. Thanks for the ride fellas, the hammocks and sleeping bags make for a comfy ride home.

If 80 billion is your budget everybody can learn this easily 😭
There defensive budget isn’t 80 billion it’s about 780 billion

Why is this sad? Most air forces have the budget to train people like this.

Boeing: Carry 820 people with 3 crew
Ryanair: 👀
I think you mean McDonnell Douglas. Boeing didn't design the C17, they just bought everybody out.
That's top-notch professionalism!
I remember when Joshua was headed to basic training!
Plane hasn't cost over $300 million in 20yrs since the orginal contract, final price was $180 million. Also they first learn to fly them at Altus AFB before heading to Travis AFB.
That's what we see all day flying the skies. Altus is home.
You actually think that a publication as worthless as "Business Insider" actually does research?! Come on, now.
Actually Altus is follow on Initial Under grad Pilot training is at several AF bases around the country.......
Hey thanks for mentioning Altus AFB. I'm an aircraft mechanic on the C-17 there.

@Real Truth how is it propaganda if it realy happened?
@Real Truth all countries defend themselves and call other countries medial propaganda. it's the governments doing things not the citizens.

I lived on Grissom AFB in Indiana when I was a kid. I would go visit my dad at the airport. The pilot’s would take me out to the planes and let me sit in the pilot’s seat. As a kid it’s the coolest thing ever. As an adult it makes good memories.
The Pakistani guys can definitely hang on to this plane with proper training
it would be nice a video with metric units
You're watching a video about an American plane, flown by the American Air Force, on an American UA-cam channel which probably is watched predominantly by Americans, on an American app....... You must be kidding..... LOL
Hello
Imagine telling your friends and family, my girlfriend flys a C-17.
What interesting timing to film and release this.
I got to fly in one several times coming back from Iraq. I even got a chance to watch the Loadmaster use the boom to refuel another plane. It was so cool seeing that in person.
Bullshit. You were not in a C-17 if you witnessed an aircrew member using a boom to refuel another plane. The C-17 does not have the capability to refuel another aircraft. On a tanker aircraft (KC-135, KC-10, KC-46, etc.), the aircrew member that manipulates the boom is the boom operator - not a loadmaster.
Respect! 🤟🏻
Our troops are one of a kind!
yea losers of every war except for Grenada and Panama wars..
Can we all appreciate how far humanity has come we went from sticks and stones to refuelling a plane in mid air just think about how that was made possible
And we got really good at killing each other. I only assume we’ll get too good at that eventually

did overhaul on these engines (PW f117) at PW columbus georgia for two years before i got into commercial aviation. always amused me what these engines were capable of carrying these heavy planes around the world.

That landing was pretty rough lol
The plane is well designed for those kind of rough landings.
@Saif Khan ummmm, there has been no formal declaration of war, in fact, nato is currently operating in a humanitarian mission status. Believe me, you will know when this changes. NATO holds more than 60% of all military funding and infrastructure on the planet. So, if we did go to war, the taliban would be as easily squashed as a fly.
@Saif Khan the globemaster is still an amazing aircraft, how is that related?
@@samcollins9509 well, he still has got a point, no matter whether it was war or not it was still a fail for the USA. 20 years in the conflict and no concrete results, still, I guess it could have helped the American defense industry and probably trained in active combat american tacticians and soldiers but nevertheless, the US quit Afghanistan pretty much like they quit Vietnam.
