This video is about FAKE Organic Nut Milk Bags (not even 100% natural) on Amazon. Textile Burn Test (feat. Vitamix filtration bag, Culture for Health organic cotton nut milk bag, Marna Home Naturals "organic" nut milk bags, Eco-Essence "organic" hemp nut milk bag, My Big Fat Organic Nut (milk) Sacks...)
★ In this video, I tested several brands that claim "Organic" hemp nut milk bags and one "organic" cotton bag that, based on my test results show that they are sewn with synthetic threads (polyester) despite their claim "100% organic cotton threads or stitches". I reported these companies to Amazon, 4 months before I did this video, but Amazon is still allowing these sellers to deceive public. So this video is to:
1) inform the public about GOTS certifications and suggest that they demand that the Seller provide a REAL GOTS License number and
2) help consumers identify if the bag they bought is truly sewn with natural threads, or synthetic threads using a simple burn test.
*GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)
★ WHY "100% ORGANIC" or NATURAL THREADS/STITCHES ARE VERY IMPORTANT: 1) Polyester/Nylon thread is not a solid thread, it is made from many very thin fibers that are wrapped into a single thread, that easily frays & can get into your food. You basically end up eating plastic! 2) Since "All Natural" "100% natural" nut milk bags require to be periodically sanitized (boiling and/or soaking in vinegar...) to prevent mold, sanitizing can easily damage the synthetic fibers, which can lead to chemicals & synthetic particles (plastic) ending up in your food.
★ COMMON FRAUDULENT "Organic" CLAIMS:
"100% Organic Cotton or Hemp..." "Internationally certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard in the Netherlands" - Some buyers might be deceived thinking that product is made in the Netherlands, not in China.
"Our threads are made of an organic cotton and hemp blend" - Currently, this type of sewing threads does not exist.
"Organic Hemp" - According to GOTS there is currently no certified Organic Hemp anywhere in the world!

FYI: Under most of your customers reviews on Amazon who has purchased your product, someone using name "AK......... is posting a reply "to go to a different seller to purchase nut bags for a lesser price".
You have no idea how helpful your video will be to many people. Customers are unaware many sellers/companies cannot be trusted even though approve to sell on Amazon.
Thank you! Amazon do not require any approval for selling. Any person can sell whatever they want and say whatever they want. It shocking - but they are just a market place and delivery.

Another thing that is aggravating are companies that claim their nut milk bags are seamless when they are not.
It just shocking how many lies in general, I try to avoid to buy stuff on Amazon, many small sellers buy crap from China and do not verify or test products, also amazon packaging is so wasteful and polluting.
your amazon shop link doesn't work. I am actually here looking for an alternative to using plastic and stainless steel for fruit infusions. I thought perhaps cheesecloth or somethings I could tie up inside my glass water bottle, but am having a hard time finding any useful info. Thank you for caring enough to make this video :)

I have not heard of Anthony William. I follow Dr. Greger and Dr. Fuhrman diet/health recommendation. I think they both do the best research on nutrition/health.

All I want to know is how good is this for making cold brew coffee? I went out and bought a package of cheesecloth after reading up on making cold brews at home, and I think maybe 5 drops of liquid made it through the cheesecloth after 15 minutes! Before that I tried using a coffee filter - and that was a disaster. Only a tee shirt worked (sort of). So, now I'm looking at nut milk bags. I don't have money to waste (being on a fixed income), so I need to be sure that the coffee-water mix will strain through the bag and not take an hour or hours. Better yet, I'd like to enclose the coffee in the nut bag and let it steep inside the jar of water and never have to strain it at all.

THANK YOU for providing this, you are absolutely amazing! You can't trust anyone these days, you think you're getting a clean product but you're just poisoning yourself with plastic thanks for these despicable chinese companies. THANK YOU for exposing them!!! Can i use food grade hydrogen peroxide on these bags or will it cause a reaction?
Sorry for late reply. Yes, you can use hydrogen peroxide, but it weakens fiber and bag will not last as long.
As of Sept 25, 2017: GOTS lists the German company - Carl Meiser GmbH & Co. KG (License number CERES-0173) as the only company that has certified organic Hemp fabric.
Thank you, last I checked there was not any organic hemp fabric. To my knowledge, nobody sells on Amazon or USA any hemp nut milk bags from Germany.
I email them, but looks like that they are not manufacturing fabric but only wash and dye. it also said in GOTS: Field of operation - Dyeing, Wet processing.
why didn't you burn your own nut milk bags for proving that yours are 100% organic nut milk bags? You've just burned that organic cotton thread that anyone can buy it from Amazon. How could you prove that your products are sewn with that organic thread?
Good question! I burned the threads that are used to sew my bags. My products are manufactured by my own company, not some 'sweatshop' in China. I personally research and buy every single material that goes into my bags and all our products, and I can show (post on my website) my wholesale purchase receipts. In fact, FiberactiveOrganics.com listed my company EcoPeaceful on their website as a customer fiberactiveorganics.com/8-2/our-customers. If you like I can make another video to burn my bags with the whole package (compostable cellophane and paper label). I would actually prefer that Amazon tests ALL the bags including mine! All materials and packaging of my bags are 100% compostable/biodegradable so everything will turn to ash. It will be a lot of fun and educational :-)
Hello, I just want to comment quick on this milk bag. I did purchase it on amazon. There are so many on the market but i decided to buy this ladies product because i was impressed by all the time she took to make this impressive video! Honestly, i am overly cautious on all the items i purchase and she did the homework for me in this video! I mean the way she used the lighter on the thread! And the in depth explanation on the products out there! Anyway, i finally had a chance to use my milk bag this morning. I am so happy i bought it! It worked beautifully and i had peace of mind with this bag! I highly recommend ecopeaceful milk bags! Make the investment its worth it and if you want to SAVE money.......don't waste your time on cheesecloth that was worthless and a big mess! Kind Regards everyone. Jesus is Lord. God is amazing.
