Yup.. quick story about 'finding' an artist. 2007, I'm in Japan and go to Tower Records to shop and I'd decided I needed to get into Springsteen and grab his new record "Magic" I pop it on at a listening booth and am quite fairly uninspired by it. Just below that album in the booth the cover of Joe Henry's "Civilians" catches my eye.. I pop it on, and am instantly hooked.. He's been one of my favourites ever since.

I had the same experience in 2013. I learned about Failure from Dave Navarro, he talked about Fantastic Planet being the best album ever, but I didn't really connect to it at first, because I only listened to it (in MP3) through my external computer speakers while doing other things at the computer. I finally listened to it more carefully in 2013 on Spotify (I don't use Spotify anymore), and I it was brilliant! Enough said, I bought Heart Is A Monster on CD, and then I switched to vinyl, I've bought everything they released in vinyl since 2014. I really like the band, my top 5, with ever changing top spot.

At the last minute, and just happening to decide to visit LA during the event, I was able to grab a ticket to "Cinquanta" at The Greek, and I could never thank Maynard enough for inviting Failure to play. The opening notes to "Stuck On You" rung out, I went into shock that this was finally happening for me, burst into tears, and had to sit down, sobbing. I will filled with so much joy, contentment, and gratitude. I will never forget how that moment felt. Thank you, Failure.

Failure just have this "aura" on their songs. So... weird... but delightful and beautiful. Kinda like a dream or a parallel universe where nothing is what it seems, a crook and quirk or the mind both in space and time. Kinda like drifting out in space were nothing matters, nothing makes sense but nothing needs sense either. Then there's that other "something else" I just can't explain. Found Failure a little over a decade ago though Paramore and nothing has changed. I like to call it "Space Grunge". Thank You Failure for been there even in the most crazy situations for me.

Then when I was 15 an older boy put stuck on you on a mixed tape for me. Then when I was 17 I fell in love with a boy who loved your music and introduced me to all the albums. Pillowhead was one of the first songs I learned on the bass. Basically your music has been a soundtrack to my love life for 20 years. Undone video is right up there next to heart shaped box for all time favorites. It gets me emotional. I love you guys as well as your other amazing projects. Kellii is my favorite drummer and drum sound. You’ve been a major influence on me and my husbands music aesthetic. Can’t wait to see you again and can’t wait for this doc. Thank you ♥️

Astonishing band, and also thoughtful, polite and funny people (in my brief experience). It's so rare to see a creative force always evolving yet somehow also staying true to their nature. I will be watching this.

I wish I found Failure sooner in my life. I'd only ever heard my friend Doug play Dirty Blue Balloons at open mic nights and didn't really understand much beyond that at the time. However, these last several years of discovering your music has been greatly rewarding and I thank you for making your art.

I didn’t know who she was at first lol that’s cool. Failure was an important band. I hate to say it but Fantastic Planet has gotta be too 25 most important rock albums of the 90s easily. The other albums not so much but still great.

The first 6 seconds sums is up. The 90s were the best and last great rock era....specifically about 1991 or 92 to about 1995; with 1993 and 1994 being the peak and the best!!!!

New fan here and I honestly don't know why it took so long for me to discover this group, holy shit. In a way the band's sound is a conglomeration of the many elements I loved from other 90's bands... the unhinged noise of Melvins, Mudhoney, Nirvana... the solid melodic vocals of Gin Blossoms and Alice in Chains, the otherworldly instrumental resonance of Deftones...
But yet also bringing something uniquely different that rises above all of the comparisons. Failure locates a depth, beauty and darkness in the music that has won me over.

I heard Failure and Kyuss the same day in the 90s. I was coming back from snowboarding and my friends older brother put them on when we were driving home. I still remember the drive. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It shaped the way I play guitar to this day.

Got our hands on a cassette of Magnified at the Tool undertow concert in Cleveland where Failure opened. Likely the only kid at the bus stop jamming to empty friend in the whole county. Fantastic planet was the soundtrack on my 12 day drive from Ft Hood Texas to Ft Wainwright Alaska a few years later.
