Channel Overview:
In this channel I will show how I repair my vehicles or other vehicles. I will also show you, teach you some tricks what I look for at certain jobs and try to explain the best I can, on why I do it the way I do it. You will see links of the most of the tools and the parts, at good quality and reasonable cost, that I am using in the description of every video (It may be not the exact tool or product, but that has the same function. So, it may be just a different brand). If any torque specs or other specs are mentioned in the video, they will also be found in the description. I am a self-employed mechanic myself, with a garage on my property. So here I am recording how I repair and trying to help you motivated to repair your customer vehicles and also how to fix your own vehicle and save a lot of dollars. So, every video is intended to be a great ‘Do It Yourself (DIY)’ tutorial to save money. I am a professional mechanic, so do everything at your own risk.

Tips: I found removing the strut brace to be very easy, which provided significantly more access to the rear three spark plugs. Using a wobble spark plug socket enables direct access without issue, with the strut brace removed. The nuts for the strut brace should be tightened to 16 ft-lbs, same as the spark plugs.
I also found that all of the engine coils, except for the rear, passenger side one, were removable without disconnecting the electrical connector. So, if you are struggling to disconnect the electrical from the engine coil, you can withdraw the coil without disconnecting.
Thank you 👌
I appreciated the details shown in your video. The unplugging of the coils from the harness and the torque specs were the type of detail one should include in a video of this type. In another video, the guy showed the basics of checking the gap, but not the disconnecting of the cable going to the coil. He also failed to list the torque specs in the video. You made a great video!
Thanks. I'm trying my best. Sometimes.
God bless
Awesome video
I’m waiting on my Spark plugs to come on Monday, I have a 14 TL & your video will definitely help me out Thanks 👍
That's awesome! I was actually pushing really hard to get this out there before the weekend. Because I didn't really set a video on those yet so I figured I better get it done asap.
Really happy that it worked out for you that way 👍
Great video! Try using a piece of rubber vacumn hose on the spark plug to lower it into the hole. You can usually turn the plug also to seat it with the rubber tube. Sometimes easier than extensions. Less chance of cross threading too.
That's a good tip. Thanks 👍
Thanks so much for you video...will save me labor costs next time I need to replace my spark plugs in my 09 TL. TL owners know about the over consumption of oil problem and my spark plugs are getting sprayed with oil and shorting out sooner than I would like. Just got my bill from the mechanic to replace them...next time I will do it myself. Kicking myself for not watching this video sooner!
Your welcome. Thanks for the nice comment. They are actually pretty simple to do.
I Absolutely LOVE your videos. Your accents is soothing to hear and your voice is as well I also like how thorough you are giving every step. Most guys leave out the backside of the engine in the video when doing spark plugs. You included it. Thank you for that.
Thank you for your lovely comment ☺️
Great video and love the detail!
Thank you. God bless you.
Nicely done, thank you. Kind of funny it takes as long to explain how to remove the plastic engine cover as it does to actually remove the plugs. I can remove mine pretty quickly, I'm missing at least half the fasteners. . . 🤔
If I remember correctly, there was a couple missing on this one as well.
Oil all over the socket and plugs when removing. I do 10k oil interval changes with full synthetic and baldwin filters. Never low on the dipstick, car has 175k on the clock now.
Sounds like the valve cover gasket is leaking eh?
10000 is far too long bro, 5k at most
Thanks for a great detailed video.
Thank you. Have fun doing the spark plugs on your Acura.
thank you, very helpful
You're welcome. I'm glad to be able to help you
Best video by far
That's flattering. Thank you.
Hey awesome video and super helpful! I did google the spark plugs and the ones in description links a 0.044 gap. Was wondering if the 0.44 would be fine even tho it is saying 0.039 - 0.043?
They'd probably work.
Thanks this helps a lot.
Nice. Have fun changing them plugs.
Genial, ahora solo me faltan los materiales 😢
Unfortunately you do need new spark plugs when replacing your old ones, yes. 😉
I have same car. Thank you! 😊😊
Your welcome. Have fun
Hi thank you for the video. You were very thorough.
One question what type of grease was that u used ? I heard DYLECT GREASE? Anyways looks important so I don’t wasn’t to just leave it out bc I DNT know what ur using. Thanks again
You heard right. Dielectric grease is what I put in there. I have that linked in the description, but for your convenience I'll just link it right here. amzn.to/3tW2By4
Thanks for your flattering comment by the way 👍
Thanks for the video. Super helpful! How can you tell if the coils need to replaced? Or should you automatically change the coil boots each time you replace the spark plugs?
Your welcome and thank you for your nice comment. 👍
It sure wouldn't hurt to replace the boots everytime you change the spark plug. But if the boots aren't damaged, it's not necessary either I would say. But I also talk about that in the video at 5:30.
@@AutoTechWorld_DIY Yes I seen that. I went back and listened. Thanks.
Thanks your video, but i have a question, is there any difference between after and before replacing about fuel consumption? just wondering
Good question. Yes there should be a difference, you should get better mileage. Because the new spark plugs should give you a better on time spark and thus make the engine perform better. But that is only if your old ones are actually worn or not functioning the way they should. I've never really put it to the test myself though.
Hey I followed your steps but I had someone working with me but they confused the coil pattern and put the coils wherever he wanted so it feels 10x worse than it did before the spark plugs were plugged in
Oh that's too bad. It shouldn't make that much of a difference, I would think. Are you sure the spark plugs are all torqued and the coils are all plugged in?
How often do you change the spark plugs?
Here is a link to a pdf that tells you pretty much all you need to. You basically go by the maintenance indicator code. If there is a 4 with, you change. But check out this pdf that I found on Google. It gives you an estimate for how long and how much you can drive before you should replace the plugs

I just changed my coil after getting the P0303 code. Will the check engine light go off on its own after a while?
Not sure about that. I would just delete it and see if it comes back.
Hi I have the same code did replacing the spark plug fix the code? Thank you
Acura tells me not to lube the boot, and to lube the thread of the spark plug very lightly. WHat are your thoughts? I will be using genuine honda/acura Spark plugs
Who do you mean when you say Acura tells me?
The main purpose of the dielectric grease is not to lube it. It is to keep the moisture out.
I definitely would not put dielectric grease on the threads. Maybe antiseize if they say it must. Probably for easier removal when you have to change them next time. NGK puts some kind of coating on the threads already. And it says right on there not to apply any antiseize to the threads.
God damn clean under that hood it's a mess.
Come on now. It's not that bad
Ngk website says part number for spark plugs is ILZKR7B11 not ILZKR7B11S for 2012 Acura TL, what’s the difference ?
Probably the engine#. My 2001 cl had 2 different listings. Parts dept at the dealership didnt have any info, so I just pulled one out, ordered and replaced with that part #.
can you please do mine?
Yes, we could make an appointment if you like. When does it work for you to drop it off? 😉
my 2013 Acura TL has 105km mileage is it time for me to replace all 6 spark plugs?
It wouldn't hurt.
I can show u a easier way with a Vac hose for getting Plugs in and out
I have done that before as well.
Hell'of a lot easier than a chrysler 300 and buick lacrosse!! With them, u gotta take the whole dam manifolds off!😠
Compared to them for sure. The 3.5 and 2.7 V6's anyways. I had a 2005 Chrysler 300C with a 5.7L V8. They're not bad. Except you have to change 16 plugs. They have 2 per cylinder.
Happy wrenching 👍
